I vote for the gift of an eagle feather. I really like the colors in that one. We definitely measure in time, not distance in Alberta. Depending on the time of day and weather, the same drive could take way more time.

I live in the southwestern part of British Columbia, Canada, "an hour east of Vancouver". Yes most of Canada does measuring in time, not distance. It has more relevance in a big country.

I'm so glad you're all safe ❤ I'm playing Monopoly along with you, I've allocated counted WIPs to one board, and stamped to the other, and am stitching 1000 for the counted and 500 for the stamped for each of your tokens. I don't worry about getting it all stitched each week, I just carry the target over. I've never played a cross stitch game before and am loving this! Over 26,000 stitches done, so far!

I loved how excited you are for the Pirates. It is a very cute design!
So happy everyone is safe! I adapted Survivor into a cross stitch game. I tried to keep it simple. I don’t break it down by person, but tribe. Each tribe has a type of cross stitch. Gata is full coverage, Tuku is stamped (yeah, I own some old ones lol), and Lavo is counted (not full coverage). If the tribe wins first place in any kind of challenge I pick a project of that type and do 400 stitches, if the tribe loses goes to tribal council I pick a project of that type and do 300 stitches. Once the merge happens it is based on the pervious tribe the person belonged to to determine what type of project to pull. The reward winner gets 300 stitches, the immunity winner gets 500 stitches, and if the person is eliminated that is 600 stitches. Any other type of challenge winner (I.e. fire making towards end of season) will get 200 stitches. If the reward and immunity is one challenge that would be 800. If I keep up and do all the stitches within a week of the season ending I get to start a new project. This gives me plenty of freedom to not be locked into only certain projects because that is usually my downfall. I like working on a variety of styles but only for a day or two. Plus I can do all of this in a week and still have time for other things like the HAED SAL or other things like crochet, knitting or diamonds painting.

I’ve been thinking of you and am so glad you made it through the hurricane okay. I live in Nova Scotia Canada and a bunch of our linesmen went down before the storm. I know linesmen from the US have helped us after hurricanes so I was proud that we were able to return the help. So happy to see you back!

Omg those tornadoes!!! My coworkers daughter lives in that area and she was on the phone with her mom the whole time she was so panicked 😢

Yep, measure in time over here. Only thing is we have city time and country time. Country time I you could drive for 4 hrs at 100km (60MPH) and still not reach your destination. 😂

I have been watching Kevin from Accio WIP working on the Glendon Place pirate piece. I am excited to see you working on it as well. If you are not watching Accio WIP, you should. His wife Erin does a lot of Harry Potter while he does Lord of the Rings, pirates, and dragons. When they play a regular Monopoly game, whoever loses has to do penalty stitches equal to how much they lose by; I think the winner also gets to choose which piece the loser has to use for the penalty stitches, which have to be completed before they can stitch on anything else.

Very difficult choice this month voting for November’s WIP Of Shame. I am going to vote for Gift of the Eagle Feather 🪶, only because it has more color. So glad you and your loved ones survived Milton. I hope Gracie and Mr Whiskers were not distressed. Yay your on the home run for the Mushroom SAL - I hope you frame it when it is finished and have it on the wall behind you to remind you of your conquest and not to join another SAL. 😅
They were actually really good! My kids were a little freaked so they cuddled them a lot to calm themselves down so they were happy cats 😂 and yes I’m definitely excited to get that stupid Sal done 😂

I was watching the power grid and how the numbers changed from day to day restoring power. It looked like a vast majority of people had power restored within 5 days. The first few days were slow, then every time I checked back in around 100,000 more people had power back. I thought it was amazing power got restored that quickly. (And yes it sucks to have no power…I was one of the many in Feb 2021 to have no power for days due to the Texas grid failing in the winter storm.)

For monopoly, the green and yellow areas seem to get landed on the most for me. I’m debating what to adjust when I do my birthday and new year starts (and a new gift stitch). I doubt I’ll have any significant finishes before these starts. Of course I might just hyper focus on gift stitching and put monopoly away for a bit. Although if I hyper focus on my Joan Elliott, the frame might be available for a gift stitch new years start…hmm…perhaps I’ll change brown from smalls to my light blue project, and put my bday start onto light blue. Smalls can still get cards or tax spots, or free space…
Even though I got power back I’ve been watching the numbers drop too 🤣 those guys have been kicking some serious ass getting power restored asap!!
And yeah I’m trying to finalize my monopoly wips for next year and man, it’s really hard figuring out where to place them! I’m trying to be very strategic 🤣 but watch it happen the exact opposite way that I want it to 😂
