Yessssss! Ever since I moved to Oregon I've been on anti depressants. It's mostly grey&cold here. I want out!! And I want THIS. Doc, congrats on getting off of blood pressure meds since moving. And you said it Susan. It's like magic! BlessedBe 🌹
Love love it, so very happy for you both.. I am seriously considering coming to Panama for retirement. We are so tired and disheartened by the USA, crime, politics, cost of living… just gotten out of control, and Florida is supposed to be great for retirement, they have become like every place else… more money to survive… Thanks for sharing…
Very nice video. I can't wait to visit. I will be there 8/18/23, and after watching your video I wish I can stay, and not wait 2 more years. I am truly blessed to be able to do this tour , and I trust in the God almighty for His divine plan for my life. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
My girlfriend and I spent a few days at the diving hotel last September. It's the red roofs and balconies at 5:32. Very nice. The owners are wonderful.
Thank you for such a wonderful video!! You guys remind me so much of us(my wife and I) We’ll be visiting soon with the plan being to move permanently in about a year… Whenever I leave our home my goal is a minimum of 5 good deeds…holding a door, allowing someone to change lanes in traffic, etc etc etc…we are so excited to (eventually) live amongst people who are like us! All the best! ❤
very enjoyable and informative at the same time. i had not really considered bocas -- was looking only at las tablas because spouse likes to surf. i did not realize there is surfing in bocas. i find it interesting/reassuring, the comment that covid times really showed the reality of how much we, in reality, do physically hang with extended family and friends. i text/call my siblings more than i really see them. and all can be visited on periodic trips back to the home country. being away from my family is truly the big thing holding me back. yet the older i get, the more i embrace that at some point we must find a way to live with no regrets. and this may include moving away to where the heart calls.
Just want to make a general comment on rents in Bocas. The rent we pay for our house is not representative of what’s available here. We just lucked out during Covid when vacation rentals were not been picked up. People were renting long-term at rents they might not normally charge. I think everyone needs to understand that Bocas is also a vacation destination for Panamanians as well as tourists from other countries, and to expect there may be higher rents here compared to somewhere like Boquete.
Can you please give some sort of ball park figure in today’s prices please, per month for rent? Nothing flash but nice enough. The home in this video for example. Thanks.
Enjoyed your video! I lived in Panama City as a kid 50 somewhat years ago and want to retire in Panama and thought about Bocas ,but can you tell me if the mosquitos will eat you up alive?
Lol We do have mosquitoes. They don’t bother me much at all - but my husband sprays insect repellent on his arms and legs if they bother him. They seem to be seasonal, though, not constant.
About 20 mins from our airport from our house. About 5 if you live in town. . You can rent something for $500 a month or you can pay all the way up to $2500 a month depending on what you want. You really do have to see properties in person to choose. I suggest spending at least a week andspending at least a week in Bocas to look around. That’s what we did. Plus, the inventory can change weekly around here! There are so many short term rentals and those rents are entirely different - a short term rental can be 3 months or charged by the day.
Signed a one year lease - then resigned for 4 years! You pretty much have to talk to everybody you meet even if you want to check with some realtors as well. The guy we worked with is a realtor, but he doesn’t take any commission for rentals. He doesn’t time looking around at different types of rentals. Then someone called him and said to ask our landlords because they heard a rental was coming up! It really is wild if mouth. You definitely need to spent a week here looking around.
do you have hot water in the house, laundry machine , and how much are you paying monthly? The Beach looks like Star fish beach, I visited when I was there, with about 45 min bus ride. Your Rental is in close tot he city? Hospital?
@@PanamaRelocationTours Do you have any videos or interviews that would go into that in Boca del Toro as an alternative to Panama City (Paitilla, Punta Pacifica) for the older crowd?
@@dovygoodguy1296 Living in Panama City completely differs from living in Bocas del Toro. You'd need to visit both to see which one "feels" right to you.

how's the sewage there? Can you flush the paper like in the US?
How do older people live in such isolated areas far from the usual amenities??
all the amenities you need are on the island of Isla Colon in Bocas del Toro. There is a hospital, doctors, grocery stores, restaurants, etc
