It's hard for a lot of people to grasp how emotional this is for Auburn fans. I went to Auburn and it gets soooooooooooo old having Alabama be #1 every year for PLAYING NOBODY. Auburn always has a tougher season. So, when we finally beat them in a big play like this, it makes your heart almost explode. I could watch this 1000 times and not get sick of it.

Greatest college football ending of all time. 2nd is The ending of the Cal-Stanford game when the band ran on the field. 3rd is when Nebraska dropped a two point conversion to lose national championship. When you consider all that was at stake, it is monumental to keeping college football best. Bama was "unbeatable," yet their hearts were ripped out at the last second by none other than their rival. This is sports people. Rivalry, its the point of competition.
So I moved to Alabama in April 2013. Wasn't much of a College Football fan. Though I had to decide who to root for, well I picked Bama bc everyone I work with is a Bama fan. But after amazing game I'm Auburn all the way.

I also think its great to see kids so passionate about a game. It seems a lot of kids these days are in to some bad stuff. Being passionate about a game and a team they love is a good thing. Man some people I feel sorry for who just don't understand the essence of life, caring and being a solid neighbor to one another. As a South Carolina fan born, raised, and living in Alabama, I remember when I got back into town (I was in Columbia for the Palmetto Bowl), random people were asking me who I went for, and I said I’m a Gamecock fan. Auburn fans were disappointed that I wasn’t an Alabama fan so they could laugh. Alabama fans were relieved I wasn’t an Auburn fan to laugh at them. I felt like a king in the middle of a war.
The only thing I don't get is why the auburn fans are freaking out so much. Miracles happen to auburn all of the time. Cam Newton giving them their first unshared NC ever, hail marry to beat ULM, onside kick to beat Utah state, awful game changing no review to beat NMU, Manziel goes out for 2 drives in a one possession game, Miss St 2nd string qb starts against auburn, hail marry to beat Georgia, and this. Should be expected at this point

I live like 10 minutes from the Alabama football stadium and have never been to a game nor do I care to ever attend one. I find the entire sport really dumb and it brings out the worst in people. Some people love sports. I'm one of them. There's no doubt that many people go too far with their "fandom", when it comes to getting into fist fights or even genuinely hating another person because of which team they like. However 90% of the fans out there are perfectly good people, even if they love their team and show a lot of emotion when that team wins or loses. I do agree that in many ways, football does bring out the worst in people because some let their team define them as a person...but overall it's not really any different than things like politics or religion.
With all that said, what's the point of coming over here to profess your indiference? To try to get some false feeling of superiority by suggesting you're a better person for not caring about football?

Most fans, I think, grew up in close knit families with sports as a tie that bonded us together .... even when times were tough, we could forget about "life" for a bit and join eachother in a common theme to cheer for our team.. I'm so glad I'm a Saints and LSU Fan ....
