I've transplanted a lot of White pine and Balsam from Northern MN and WI down to southeast WI. They are very resilient. After many decades they are still growing. I know this because my former neighbor tells me so, and I can see them on Google Earth.

The good thing is we got a lot of rain shortly after planting. We hope most of them make it. Thanks so much for watching!!

You may think about planting chestnut trees they provide food for the wildlife in the area. They start producing mast / fruit much earlier than other hardwood trees. Plant trees that are helpful to the animals in the area. You and hubby are going to leave the land better than you found it for all that follow after you. If everyone did that think how wonderfull this world would be. Thanks for your efforts to make things better than you found them!

Hi!! Thank you so much for the kind comment. That is great advice & we will seek some out. We do have several large oaks and a few chestnut on our 20 acres but the more the better. We appreciate you watching❤️

Know I am late to the game here, but I pictured some Christmas lights on the new plant off the patio :)

They may need more sun than being on the forest allows

Oh the joys of rocky soil I have the same problem can’t dig a hole without hitting rocks. I don’t look forward to any digging I have to do next summer. Hopefully they make it with all the effort. Greta barking definitely got my dogs interested in trying to figure out where the dog was. 😂😂 I always enjoy you two harassing each other it makes for a good laugh 😂.
