- CHOPIN Etude op 10 no 3 by concert pianist Stéphanie ELBAZ
This Frédéric Chopin etude op 10 n 3 in E major is a study for solo piano, which is also identified by the names "Tristesse" (Sadness) or "L'Adieu" (Farewell), and was first published in 1833. This study is very famous due its great beauty, which led Chopin to consider it as one of the - if not the - loveliest melodies he ever composed. This third Etude significantly departs from the other ones, especially the two first ones, which require much higher technical virtuosity and have to be executed at substantially higher tempos. This romantic study no 3 nevertheless requires a certain amount of dexterity due to its polyphonic character: each hand has to play two voices in parallel, for thus a total amount of four distinct voices to be simultaneously expressed.

In my opinion, this song by Chopin really does capture the essence of sadness. It’s absolutely beautiful and with your interpretation behind the keys Stéphanie, you really bring it into it’s most sublime level. Thanks Stéphanie! 🙏💜💯🌺🌹🌷
Many thanks to you my dear Eryqua🌹
Wow ! It is wonderful to hear you play. Hearing you play Tristesse, that encourages me to want to learn how to play the piano so that I can play that piece of music for myself. Mind you, I am 70 years old. Thank you so much, Stephanie, and best wishes! Permettez-moi de vous donner un gros bisou.
Merci beaucoup Madeleine,
your message is really touching, and the french part is so lovely! Thank you for such a beautiful and adorable message.
I hope you will start learning piano soon, there is no age limits to enjoy yourself in piano.
I wish you great fun with piano and a wonderful day.
With my best regards from Paris.
Stéphanie.
Madeleine,
Piano can help preserve and improve strength and flexibility in your fingers, as well as give you hours of joy and mental stimulation, even emotional therapy. Start soon ! Buy the books and teach yourself, if necessary. (I'll be watching your channel for your first Minuet 😉)

VERY EMOTIONAL & SOULFUL PERFORMANCE‼️ BEAUTIFUL‼️
This song can sum up our lives as a whole. Starting off young, growing up and experiencing rough times and decisions, then the bad times eventually go away, the years pass, and I'm 80 nearing the end of my life. At this point, I've done it all and seen it all and I watch this sunset embracing the sunlight that travels over 8 minutes to reach the earth. At that stage, my kids and their kids will have kids. I then leave this life and close my eyes and sleep forever without evening realizing it. love the song and your performance.
Thank you so much for your right and beautiful interprétation of this etude 8.
With my best regards.
Stéphanie.
"L' ombre s'enfuit. Adieu beau rêve..."
"Four distinct voices" to cry sadness. Indeed they do - Wow!!!
Thank you for playing CHOPIN Etude op 10 no 3.
Merci beaucoup for having taken time to listen to this study in the first place :-)
I really like how you managed to combine both lyricism and humor in your message!
My dearest Stéphanie, your rendition is by far the most magnificent interpretation and you never cease to amaze me! I have lost 5 loved ones in the past couple years. And every time, upon receiving the news of another’s transition from this realm to the next, this video with your performance is the first song I come to! I just wanted you to know that you have created a space where I can come in peace and release the love and sadness that transpires from time to time. You are truly a gift of the Muse’s!!! Thank you so much Stéphanie! 💯💜♾
Dear Eryqua,

Thank you dear Mary. I am very flattered :-).
Best regards. Stéphanie.
I've played this piece now for forty years and heard dozens of interpretations. Until now I have never encountered a performance this close to perfection. It would make Chopin weep.
Dear Robert, thank you very much for your adorable message, who touched me. I wish you a beautiful day.
With my very best regards.

Sublime.
Merci beaucoup 🙏 🙂
This is so beautiful. I found it the most sincere interpretation of the tristesse etude. I will be playing this for my recital soon and have gathered ideas from your performance. Thanks Stephanie
Thank you very much for your message. I wish you a wonderful recital, and a lot of pleasure with this exquisite Chopin.
With my best wishes.

Thank you very much for having shared them :-)
Enhorabuena a Elisabeth...y a Fazioli.
Quiero decir Stephanie. Perdón.
Muchas Gracias Elizabeth,

Thank you ;-)
Have a nice begining of week.

She asks good musical questions with op 10 No. 3. Then answers them. I like her conception of this piece!
;-)
Oh, my...I wish it was night hearing you play this for the first time. I had to close my eyes, again. I listened to a wonderful artist playing Chopin her first name was Valentina. I did so in order to identify my feelings. As Valentina was playing, I knew exactly how she felt, she was deeply in love with Chopin and that is what resonated in her playing. Her playing was a marriage between her heart, mind and Chopin, it had a wonderful effect but it was definitely a relationship between her and Chopin. I digress here only to illustrate more closely and identify with great beauty the intimacy I experience with this piece. I experience you, your artistry, your beauty, the resonance becomes uplifting. I close my eyes and through a thousand places in my heart you fill me with ecstasy. I watched you play afterwords and your performance was sensitive and beautiful. I listened again with my eyes closed seeing you play in my mind rather than with my eyes. There are secrets there, even with such a short piece. Right now you have become my favorite.. What I feel is too complicated to extol with words. I will attend everything I can with you, I will rejoice in my new commitment with you. In time, maybe the secrets will reveal themselves but in the time spent, I will have the pleasure of experiencing my favorite and most personal revelations in music with your help, my heart will enrich. I shall be gentle with my expectations, I won't put you on too high of a pedestal so have no fear of disappointing me. Your playing unlocks the keys to my heart and that is a pretty thing, not something to fear. Just because your playing is so close to the secrets in my heart that I have yet to fathom myself, those are the secrets of bliss, beauty and love. As a man, I wish to know and experience these secrets no hatter how they are unveiled to me, even if they are unveiled in oceans of time and space.
Dear Nick,
Many, many thanks for such a beautiful message. I really hope that I will not disappoint you in the performances I will upload in the future. I now have a bit the pressure but will do my very best to live up to your message and keep on deserving you support!
Thanks again.
With my very best regards,
Stéphanie
Stéphanie Elbaz It is your very special talent that endears me. Yes, I love music! But the exchange of emotion that takes place between audience and performer can be extraordinary, rare and individual! It surpasses all expectation, it exceeds our normal human conditioning. Yes it can be shocking to the listener, surprising, audacious! If it is real it is a two way exchange that grows and feeds the artist and sustains the listener.
There was a time when this exchange was modern and evolutionary. Artists could encounter a wealthy patron who had a vast fortune, the patron would specialize and support the artist, the Artist was then freed from poverty and could concentrate on his art. He or she would write, teach, include the Patron or his children in his or her educational methods, write special music, attend performances especially performed for the patron, his/her family, guests and friends for political reasons.
This exchange was ruined by Royalty and the Church, instead of an informality of Joy it became an intense obligation where failure ended when the Artist lost his/her Artistic freedom and pleasure was replaced with painful obligation and indentured servitude.
The meaning, the level of appreciation became lost and the immediate connection of artistic beauty and intense appreciation was diluted into lukewarm appreciation. People wanted to experience the intense exchange between artist and would be Patron but too many interlocutors interfered and people's passions were lost in modernity and the mystical beauty was attended to reached for but it melted away to most people's touch.
At the Vatican there is Pine Cone Square. The Pope uses a Staff with a Pine Cone on the head. I am going to open a window with this explanation. It is Secret, part of the Secret Doctrine Known by all Secret Teachings! The Pine Cone at the Vatican exposes a real Spiritual Secret. At the center of the Human Brain exist a tiny organ that appears like a Pine Cone. It's structure is identical to the cone structure at the back of the human eye and it is called the Pineal Gland.
In the human eye it collects photons and turns them into electrical impulses that register in our brain and in our cerebral cortex it gives us sight. The human brain adjusts the photonic impulses and turns them into vision.
The Pineal Gland being similar in construction as to the human eye without any obvious input of electrical signals to form vision! The Pineal Gland was assumed to be a Spiritual gland that gave rise to the spiritual vision in dreams. This is why the Religious orders have concentrated so much secret attention upon this tiny organ!
The Pineal Gland rests securely in an area of our brain that exist in the seat of our emotional reality. It connects directly to our heart. The Pineal Gland connects to the heart in such a way that phonemes and Photons, light and sound that activates our mental and heart emotions with sound, light and mental emotions. It is the way and reason we experience spiritual epiphanies. It raises my experience of your artistic expression into spiritual bliss!
This allows me to experience the light and sound of your musical artistic expression in the most beautiful ethereal enchantment that is real! Your talent must excite the experience or I would not experience it.
Your talent and beauty is real, my special appreciation is real. Your Talent is sublime and I expect to experience you in the majestic fashion that was always rare to behold. You will always be dear to me, it is a pathway your art has already forged its expression! I pray we share and feed each other the heights of musical spiritual expression that breaths an aura of love and light!
Blessings
Nick Ramus
Dear Nick,
Thank you very much for taking time to share with me a bit of your impressive knowledge. It was very instructive for me to realize that there are indeed such salient interrelationships between artistic expression, spiritism, and cognition. I am moved by your words and it is a privilege to be able to take you on the heights of musical spiritual expression.
All the very best,
Stéphanie

Dear Alton,
thank you again . Do you practice this piece?
Have a beautiful evening.
@@StephanieElbazDear Stephanie: I played 12 of them, but not this one. That was 50 years ago when my family karma manifested and I've only had a piano 10 percent of the time. I got into meditation and it did not compare to playing the great composers. The teachings were good, but not the 30,000 hours of sitting meditation. I am 84 and am planning my rebirth. A parent of parents that did not make it into the concert stage and want their child to do that. Of course homeschooling. At age 20 I started with an adult beginner book and my teacher showed me how to free my 4th finger with special finger exercises. I was a piano tuner
and put double key weights on the piano keys. I put key leads on my fingers and did exercises with them on my fingers. I only had lessons for 2 years. I would tune a piano or two and then practice all day when I got home. After hours I did double tone exercises on a silent keyboard while watching late night TV. Just before my family karma hit I noticed I was not making mistakes. I averaged 8 hours per day for 14 years. I am not very talented in this area, but my desire makes up for that. You can see me play OP 10 # 12 here. One concert artist that I tuned for told me to use my fourth finger and that is why I missed the first octave. I don't do that anymore.

You play everything so musically -(at the end your portrayal of the top melody like a voice with words .You really communicate ! Wonderful !!! you make sense out of the big mid section chordal inquietude and brought back the lovely tristesse ! I guess these things must be thought about before it truly begins usic . Just heard your ravishing Ondine so this was next choice . I see you have filmed Alkan I hope I can find Messaien ,Dutilleux or Boulez . I too love what the French have brought to music !
Unfortunately, there isn't any Messian or Dutilleux and yet I played a lot of it, but didn't record.
Have a beautiful evening 🦋
Stéphanie.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music of all time. Though I have to admit I'm not crazy about the middle part. But then, that's up to that artist.
Dear Bryan,
thank you very much for your message, yes it is a very exquisite piece, but I understand what you mean for the middle part, which is more technical and less lyrical, and poetical ...it is an different beauty.
Have a beautiful end of week.
Muchas gracias!
Feliz Pascua :-)
I like to play this etude. I played the A section at Liberace's museum in Las Vegas. The middle section with the broken diminished chords is hard to play, but if I memorize it then it would be easier.
Indeed the middle part takes a little more time, but I am sure if you spend some hours on it, and memorize it (as you said) with the harmony it would be ok.
I wish you a lot of fun with this beautiful Chopin's etude ;-)
Best regards.
Stéphanie.

I don't play piano (I'd love to...), but I'm absolutely fascinated by that instrument. For this reason, I know and am a fan of many pianists, from many countries. But, I didn't know you until now, and I simply fell in love with you, Stéphanie!
Thank you for your beautiful music!
Dear Homero, thank you for your beautiful message.
