i go for the cheap ones that arre like 3 dollars in good condition. I bought Gta iv in case used for $6 and it is in really good condition

I would say amazon is like paying a finders fee if you are buying older games, OOP anything. You pay a premium because you didn't have to go look for it.

I'm pretty sure it was either you or someone else that went into that same pawn shop @23:45 a year or two ago and it was the same story. Guy sitting right next to the door and being told you can't record as soon as you set foot inside as well as the employee hassling them. I'm almost 100% certain it was the same place because of the ugly red building. Places like this get a reputation and people avoid them regardless of what they have.
Seemed like a very hostile business. Glad he didn't buy anything from them.

You could tell the moment you walked in that Pawnshop that it wasn't gonna go well. The guy just from the way he said "You can't film in here" you could tell he had no customer service skills
One idea for a video is scanning every item in game exchange or a game store and figuring out how much you can profit from one store alone

Guys like these are why people are reselling these games way above what they sold at retail. Who would’ve thought there are PS1 games going for $250 in 2024. When in 2013 I bought a game like nightmare creatures for $15. Now it’s going for like $50
You realize this is a two-way street right? People have to actually buy the products for it to be worth anything?
I absolutely love the Ape Escape background music. So much nostalgia and memories. I remember beating that game multiple times on the PSP, but I never beat it on the PS1 since I was like 5 years old at the time and got stuck. You should really try playing Medievil when you get the chance. The game used to scare the crap out of me back in the day especially whenever I died!

I used to collect GameCube and SuperNintendo games when I was bored. I’m so glad I picked up Twilight Princess($35) and the Mario Party’s($16, $20) for cheap and enjoyed. Recently found them all and made a nice chunk. Stuff is crazzzzy

I remember when the PS3 came out and my buddy sold me his whole PS1 Game collection so he could buy the PS3. It was around 340 games for only $600; which took me to about 500 games in my collection. Sadly when i came back from college and moved cross country my parents sold all my games i left behind in a garage sale. I was completely pissed as i had them organized and boxed for storage. I had well over $15,000 in that collection at todays numbers; i think i was handed $200 from my parents saying they listed them for a dollar each, and they kept a fair share.. live and learn.

I'll be honest, I have had very little luck with pawn shops in my state. Either they have a TON of stuff, but price it via Google Lens or eBay comps (which is fine, don't get me wrong at all.) or they have the same 15 Madden games you see at every yard sale. Prime example, I visited a pawn store in Hampton, VA that was STACKED to the gills with great stuff. But the prices were above eBay comps on every game, console and accessory. Guy was great to deal with.. but those prices were hard to swallow. And even buying in volume there was no price break. Again, that's how that business runs and I don't begrudge them that.... I just run my business differently and see things differently.

I was so into the Gamecube gambit and was invested in watching them all. It kinda fell of for me after seeing these new collections just to be resold. In the GC gambit you made it seem like you were emotionally attached only for them to be gone later on lol. Im a reseller as well, and understand the process. But for some reason these dont hit as hard. But hey its your choice, just expressing how I feel

I have to agree here. I totally respect the hustle of reselling - it is not easy. I did feel like the emotional aspect of the Gamecube series was ripped away from the audience once he so quickly sold everything. It made the whole project seem very disingenuous. The newer "collection" series are just more of the same. I'd rather see videos of the sourcing/selling process instead of fake, contrived collection videos being put out.
Gran Turismo 2 is one of my favorite PS1 games so i'm happy you added it twice on your list gj :)

Megaman 8 was one of my favorites, replayed the first 4 levels so many times. I’d say most ps1 games I never got past the first 25% of the games lol

Watching the prices on some of these games is a eyesore. I had most games from your collections and sold off everything around 2009. At about 20-30% above msrp. Damn $120 for GH SoTN hurts. Most expensive game sold off was PS2 SMT NCOTURNE with SG for about 200. I had Grandia new as a gift for about $30-40. 3 copies of Xenogears, which Im sure was recommended

Nice The Video Game Tavern is a pretty decent store. It is a little to far for me to drive to casually go visit but pretty cool you went there. The Game Garage in Spartanburg a good up and coming place if you ever come back to the upstate of SC.

Hey Phoenix, sorry i worked right after this video dropped but interesting question, how do you decide to use ALL expected profit on your fun stuff? bills. overhead, vacations, trips, gas to go flipping, how do you break even / MAKE 100's of thousands in sales a year while spending your profit on fun stuff instead of survival?

i have had that with one game store the games were all priced but from 2001 so the owner looks up on ebay and price charting and he says thats the price there was one game for 10 but it sold on ebay for 50 so i was to pay 50 as he said thats what they go for
