Simply put, Josh is a Magnificient Teacher..and extremely modest concerning his voice, which I think is quite good. thank you for tips, tricks, methods and leaving the door wide open for personal creativity...
I’m really enjoying this series! I love these longer videos where you take the time to explain things. We’re still in the basics and it’s cool to review the fundamentals! Keep up the good work!
Best demo of Channel EQ ever! Sure, there are lots of ways but your method resulted in clarity in instrument and voice quality and in stereo imaging. Thank you. This series is excellent!
Let me be the first to be the fourth comment.😁 These tutorials have been like “Logic U”! I’m looking forward to graduating at the top of the class! I’ve worked with linear EQ’s but this video really delved into the digital side very clearly. As always, thanks and I look forward to the next one. Gianni
In this video, I demonstrate the following: 1. How to load the Channel EQ plugin. 2. How filters and bands work in the Channel EQ. 3. Explain the difference between various filters in EQs, including high-pass, low-pass, peaking, and shelving filters. 4. How to EQ vocals, acoustic guitar, guitar, bass, and drums with Channel EQ. I have eq assigned to track. However, it doesn't activate. I tried it as it's recording and without. No luck. The box pops up, but no dancing wavy lines. Doesn't manipulate the audio whatsoever. What am I doing wrong? 😕
Hello sir! I appreciate what you are doing! It’s really wonderful and educational. I have a question. You already have logic X videos on your channel. Are you going to cover all the videos in the new logic series? Thank you!!
Originally I had a main 77 part series on Logic Pro I made starting in 2013. This series will cover all of the topics in that series, as well as some new topics. However, they will not necessary be the same order. I'm splitting this series up into smaller 20-30 part "Sections" so it's a bit more manageable. By part 30 or so, we will be out of the "essentials" section and moving on to MIDI and software instruments.
Hmmmmm… I’m curious what you would set the EQ at for flute , 🙋🏻♀️ pro flutist here, I’m curious if it’s close to what I’ve read and been taught recently…
Nicely done - loads of good advice! I’ve used different EQs and wonder if different EQs have or add any sound? You’d expect an EQ to add nothing, simply cut or boost frequencies from the source, but do some EQ plugins add noise or colour?
Most EQs (except linear phase EQs) will add some slight color just due to the minute phase issues between the bands, but digital parametric EQs like this are certainly the cleanest. Hardware EQs, Tube EQs, and many other modeling EQs will impose some tone and coloration in a nice way. Logic has 3 of them that we'll go over in a future video, in the "Vintage EQ Collection" category.
I noticed you had the yellow one crossed over to the right and the green to the left - are the 4 inner settings all the same and you can move them wherever you want? Does it make a difference if the yellow is under the green icon and vie versa vs having the yellow setting directly under the yellow icon? Hope that makes sense.
It shows you the analysis pre-EQ or post-EQ. So pre-EQ you'll see the frequency spectrum for the input signal, and any changes you make with the EQ will not affect the analysis visualization. If you select post, any changes you make will affect the analysis. Neither have any control over the signal coming out of the EQ though.
Great question! The numbers on the RIGHT show you the amount of boost/cut you're making on the EQ, while the numbers on the LEFT show the actual dBFS levels of the spectrum in the analyzer.
Great question! The numbers on the left show the input level of each frequency range in dB-FS, when the analyzer is turned on. You can click and drag on the numbers up or down to adjust the placement of the analyzer in the window. The numbers on the right are a meter for the added or reduced gain for each band in the EQ. This can also be dragged up or down.
Here's a link to #27. ruclips.net/video/RRrCerIW1pQ/видео.html 27-32 are all out at this point. 33 later today. Sorry I must've missed this comment, or I would have responded sooner. Seems like a lot of people are not seeing my content lately, even content hat is sequential and in a playlist like this.
You're a very knowledgable and humble guy, your teaching techniques are really appreciated, really enjoying the series.
The fact that this is free is so nice. Thank you sir

I've browsed through a bunch of tutorial videos and your videos are definitely top 5 so far. Thanks for taking the time.

Really appreciate your time doing these very beneficial lessons.
All the best from the UK 👍👍
… and thank you so much for your support, too, because for me this probably the salt in the soup of mixing! 👍🏻👏🏻🙏🏻
Nice. I may be mistaken, but I feel like I got my first lesson in audio engineering. Great Stuff!

Thanks 🎉
You are genius
I know you tuned the vocal, but even before that (in the earlier video) I really like you voice. Great tone and pitch was only bad in like one spot.
Hmmmmm… I’m curious what you would set the EQ at for flute , 🙋🏻♀️ pro flutist here, I’m curious if it’s close to what I’ve read and been taught recently…

(open question) When tracking vocals my waveforms look like mario blocks? I want to figure this out once and for all. thanks
非常棒的视频1对新手很友好😆
at 8:28 you said its by 3 decibles i didnt understand that? how did you kow its cut by 3?
Thumbs up my friend. 👍
Can you explain the pre and post on the analyzer?
It shows you the analysis pre-EQ or post-EQ. So pre-EQ you'll see the frequency spectrum for the input signal, and any changes you make with the EQ will not affect the analysis visualization. If you select post, any changes you make will affect the analysis. Neither have any control over the signal coming out of the EQ though.
What do the numbers mean on the far left? The numbers that go from +0 to -60 vertically.
Great question! The numbers on the RIGHT show you the amount of boost/cut you're making on the EQ, while the numbers on the LEFT show the actual dBFS levels of the spectrum in the analyzer.
@@MusicTechHelpGuy Got it! Thank you. As always, awesome videos.
What are the vertical numbers on left and right??
Great question! The numbers on the left show the input level of each frequency range in dB-FS, when the analyzer is turned on. Help! For the life of me, I cant find how to remove the Logic eq from a track. mommy.
Click on the right side of the insert slot where the channel EQ is located, and you'll get a pop up dialog that lets you remove the plugin.
@@MusicTechHelpGuy Thanks for replying. Im referring to the dedicated EQ insert above the general insert thats strictly EQ. Cheers
