phone lines and phones work even with no electricity, as long as you have a wired phone it will work :)

Idk if modern landlines still work like this, but oldschool landlines just have the one cord that plugs into the wall, and that feeds it both the phone signal and the power to function. They connect to the copper telephone lines that run underground and lead all the way back to a central telephone office in the area. Those telephone offices have a bunch of battery power and backup generators so that even in a power outage, they can still provide power to basic landlines.
