The rotating bezels look and feel so good. That was the reason why when it comes to smartwatches, Samsung was the only brand I considered. Really hope they'd bring it back

I had the Wacth 2 then went to the store and upgraded to the Watch Actuve 2 that has the digital rotating bezel like the Watch 5. I didn't even think about the change of the bezel and it didnt bother me to this day. 3 years later still rocking it!!
Wore the original Galaxy watch 24 hours a day for four years. Bought the 5 pro and love it. Missed the bezel for about a day. Not a big loss.

I had some bezel anxiety coming from the 4 classic. I'm actually enjoying the 5 pro. The battery life is the game changer. I just sent my 4 back yesterday. The battery was atrocious. I would definitely go back to the bezel if it comes back but they definitely need to give us another gear s.

Did you do the trade in with Samsung? How much of a difference is the battery? I only have the 4 now (not classic) so I'm only getting just less than 2 days of battery.
@@rsunday7815 It's like night and day. I'm about 70% to 75% after 24 hrs. And that's with AOD enabled. You getting atleast 3 days to 3 1/2 days with the 5 Pro.

I've had the watch 5 pro for almost 3 weeks now. I previously had the watch 4, but the battery wasn't good. In addition, I work in construction and am always afraid of breaking the watch. the watch 5 pro on the other hand is completely amazing !!! I charged it once, and it lasted me 3 whole entire days !!!!!!! The rugged finish of it was so nice, not having to worry about accidentally touching it with work gloves on, or being more rough with it. Definitely, the watch 5 pro was a great upgrade!

@@hdtrejoYeah, the 5 definitely blows me away but I've honestly never had battery issues with my 4. Except once when I installed App in the Air (flight tracker). Ran down the battery in one day. Uninstalled and back to 2 days

The battery life is a game changer. Coming from the watch 4 to the watch 5 pro. And how come no one is mentioning how durable this thing is. My watch 4 had all types of scratches on it. And it didn't take long. I wore my watch everyday all day. Titanium and sapphire glass is a big upgrade from the aluminum and gorilla glass. I've had the watch 5 pro now and having scratched it yet.Its been a week now. I banged it on the wall accidentally a few times. I work with it on in a warehouse. Not a single scratch.

Loving my 5 Pro. Losing bezel FOR Me is no biggie. I've been a smartwatch user since it's inception. I also use Garmin, Fitbit,and others and we all know none of them have a rotating bezels. Bigger battery life and faster charging speeds is a much better trade off imo.
I've owned 4 Samsung watches and I still learned a few tricks. Thanks Flossy! You can make ANYTHING interesting 🤣
i bought the Watch 4 Classic based on Flossy's recommendation last year, I absolutely love that watch. Was interested in this review; I'm going to skip this gen - the rotating bezel feature is too good. Hopefully it returns.
Love my new 5 pro. I don't miss the rotating bezel. It's much more comfortable than I was expecting. I wear it while sleeping and I like the sleep info or gives me. I charge it every 2 days while being ready for work and it fully charges on a little over an hour. Super impressed. Edit: that watch camera feature to take group pictures is awesome. Especially with the new flip 4.
Yup its lighter than the classic so I haven't noticed the larger size.
@Rick Hagins what watch did you come from? I ask because I have Samsung credit that sat and have the option to go watch 4 classic or watch 5 pro. I'm coming from the gear S3 frontier by the way.
Due to various..health problems, my watch needs to be light enough on my wrist. I'll try it out this weekend.
@@TLEE1977 I've had a few Galaxy watches, but my most recent was the gear 3 frontier like you, which I have to my son. I got the 5 pro with the bundle deal. I don't get why every reviewer compares the latest tech to last year's model. Like cars, a complete redesign only comes around every so often. So an upgrade from the 4 may not make a lot of sense for some, but of you have credit, it's a no brainer.
Honestly you’re the only tech reviewer I watch now lol. I like that you buy the products and say what you want about them and you’re honest.
I've never liked smartwatches but, as a gym goer, if that body composition function is actually accurate then I'm definitely getting one of these.

Just got my 5 Pro in the mail yesterday. For any of those who got the free wireless duo charger, especially if you got the new magnetic band -- you need to take off the watch and flip the band inside out so that it's on top of the watch screen. This is the only way the watch will charge on that wireless charger without taking the entire band off.
Yes i had the same problem with my duo charger. I had a really nice metal band for my watch 4 but I would rarely use it because it was a bit of a pain to charge with

And you may have to engage the clasp while it's inverted to pull the strap further away from the charging pad.
I would have got one but they were "sold out" when I ordered. Kinda bummed about that because they cost $80 compared to the "free" one they gave me for $40. Oh so nice of them to give me a "free" band for the $500 watch that came without one..... 🙃 ..... I like the extreme sports bands but it doesnt look that great on the 5 pro. I think the grey magnetic band looked better.
I actually really admire you demonstrating the SOS feature, because it's important to know how to properly use it in case there is an emergency situation. Whether you're pressing the button hard enough or not, maybe Samsung can implement the feature better somehow. That's just my thought!

yup, it has to be pressed faster...1,2,3 blinks, not seconds, and it works
Love all your reviews, always honest and to the point no bs. Emergency call works 100% just need to go a little faster when pressing, slowly pressing 3 times won’t set it off.
One of the most in depth reviews I've seen, I've bought the galaxy watch 5 Pro in black, I'm a smart watch virgin, so my first one, I'll be using it with my S22 ultra, I got the LTE version.
I'm convinced Samsung got rid of the rotating bezel just to make a big deal when they bring it back next year

@maverick this is true. I had so many problems with dirt and sand getting into the bezel. It stopped working. I'm happy they got rid of it

I bought the galaxy watch 4 today used but immaculate condition, practically new for £75 and I'm very happy compared to the gear sport which I had for years, the difference is staggering. One thing I do miss is the rotating bezel only downside.
Received my pre order Watch 5 pro and Bud 2 pro last Saturday. So far no complaints.. Ordered it right after I saw your unboxing. 😁
Just transitioned all my Apple stuff to Samsung; Fold 4, Tab S8 Ultra but skipped the Watch 5 Pro in favor of a refurbished Watch 4 Classic that I prefer and also skipped the buds 2 pro in favor of the live as i don't like in ear... Happy so far!

I have a Gear S3 and I was super ready to upgrade this year because it's about 3 years old now. I might wait until the 6 to see if they return the rotating bezel cuz it's one of my favorite features
I upgraded from the Galaxy Watch to the 5 pro and am enjoying it so far. I do miss the rotating bezel cause I was so use to it, but am enjoying the look and feel of this one. Plus the added features my old galaxy watch didn't have. Currently I am on 48hr use since full charge and have 51% battery left.
Oh waw, good to know, i have the Watch too, and was thinking to upgrade, impressive battery life, i hope i won't miss the bezel, or maybe to wait another year
@@isfanalexandru82 if you still want yo keep the bezel but want the newer software then go for the galaxy watch 4 from last year. They are very similar from the comparison videos I've watched between the two but you keep the rotating bezel with the watch 4. I still find my self wishing for the bezel but still need to get used to just swiping the screen. I really don't like or use the touch bezel often because the scroll speed is so sensitive and fast

@@isfanalexandru82 according to Samsung, the watch 4 does have the snore detection but you might want to research it for yourself just in case.

I’ve been using the galaxy s3 frontier since 2018. I decided to switch to Apple. I have to say I’ve been enjoying my Apple Watch. The Apple Watch 7 has theater mode.

Apple Fanboy: I use to just laugh off Flossy on the Android love he shows. I use 2 phones. I picked up a S22 Ultra almost a year ago for work because the 2 app same screen multi task was the feature I wanted. It's been the small details (NFC speaker/headphone pairing, ect.) that has slowly been winning me over. Just copped the Watch 5 pro last week. MAN LOOK AT HERE! The 14 pro is my last apple device. Flossy, appreciate you bruh for the real reviews. You doing God's work.
So Samsung ditched the bezel because it was another part that could get damaged. Reports were being made about dirt being trapped underneath it. I'm going to be optimistic about progress.
We've been through this before on phones: IR blaster delete, headphone jack delete, physical SD card delete, etc.
I have the Watch 3 45mm that is still working good up to now but now considering getting an upgrade. I hate they ditched the bezel on the Watch 5 series. Might just upgrade to 4 classic.

do it, i have watch4 classic i absolutely love it, battery apparently isnt as good but mine can last 2-3 days with everything turned on and i could never ditch the rotating bezel

Battery Life > Rotating Bezel
Rotating bezel is nice, but the battery life was just bad. I only used the bezel to adjust volume during Bluetooth music sessions, other than that swiping is faster for watch nav. That being said I'm not against the Bezel returning for the 6pro.
I don't think the Pro version is supposed to be the Classic replacement. It is made to be rugged. I think the Classic 5 will come out at the next event with the rotating bezel.

I just got the 5 pro and the battery life compared to the regular 4 is INCREDIBLE. I also like how the bands for the 4 still fits the 5.
What is the battery life for you? LTE battery life?

Got this on your recommendation as an upgrade from the galaxy watch active 2. That watch is still doing hella well since 2020. I **STILL** get about 2 days with it. I'm pretty surprised. But sapphire glass, pulse ox, better processor, operating along side google wear os hooking me up with the assistant, I had to. The speaker is HELLA more clear and loud. Hoping that battery life is up to the 3ish days they're claiming. But time will tell. Either way, you haven't steered me wrong yet, floss! And I've been rocking with you since I got my galaxy S5. Waterproof WITH replaceable battery? Expandable memory? SD card SLOT? Headphone jack? Those were the days for extras. Thanks for keeping me in the know so I can continue my tech nerdary. LoL
How you still liking the 5 Pro? I've had my Active 2 for 3yrs, thinking of upgrading.
@Daniel I love it. Better battery life, which couldn't be said of the 3 and 4. Plus google assistant without having to go through others possibly shady software. Pulse ox (though that leaves a bit to be desired.) I think the ecg is better too. The only thing I don't like is the process of getting extra watch faces. It was a lot easier on the old galaxy store. There was a lot more free ones too for the penny pinchers. LoL. Overall though, definitely a great upgrade with no regrets.

You know Flossy ain’t no sell out when the first thing he mentions is why you should/shouldn’t upgrade.
I "upgraded" from the watch 4 classic to the watch 5 (non pro). The watch 4 was almost unusable. Battery life was trash, had to kill most of the features just to get through the day. Watch 5 has been great so far ending the day at around 50% battery running it like a savage. Full brightness, raise to wake, heart monitor, ect. I honestly don't even miss the rotating bezel.

That playing music from the watch is very useful because you can connect your buds 2 directly to your watch if you are away from your phone

I've been super happy with it so far. But I have been using the OG Galaxy Watch since 2018. This new one feels nice. I understand if you got last years edition it's not much of an upgrade.
i have the S3 Classic and it lasts for 2 days. I don't sleep with. Now I screwed up and got the FOLD4 and Buds2 PRO but did not preorder the Watch 5 PRO. Should i get now or wait for another type of sale?
I just followed along with the video doing everything on my Watch 4 that you just did with the Watch 5 Pro and it has all of the same features. Now, I do not have the classic though, just the Watch 4, so I get just less than 2 days of charge max with this because I do wear it 24/7 and sleep with it. I charge it while I'm in the shower or just laying around at the end of the night (before I go to sleep). Samsung is doing a trade in deal right now, so I think I'm going to get that Watch 5 Pro for the extra battery life. I never had that rotating bezel, so I don't miss it thankfully.
I've had Samsung watches, Tic watches, Fossil watches..... But since I got my Garmin Fenix I've never looked back. 10-14 days battery, notifications, music control and it gets easier to see in sunlight.... nevermind the ultimate in workout capabilities and health metrics.. For me it's a no-brainer.

I could see the audio playback feature being good for things besides music, like audio books, podcasts and sportscasts. Especially if your phone is at 15% but your watch has 3 days of charge left.
You can also clandestinely look around corners with the viewfinder. Or looking over crowds of people. I would say looking ahead of traffic too but you'd just be signaling to any cop around that you're using your phone while driving.

I've got the 6, silver 6 classic, black 6 classic and still wear my black and silver 5 Pro's more. Comes down to battery life for me. I wear Garmin watches as well and can appreciate longer battery life. I will say the silver 6 Classic is gorgeous and the one I wear the most of the two color versions. Great video man!

I think I'll keep my Watch 4 Classic. I'm a big fan of the bezel. It'll be the only Samsung device I bought this year, which is out of ordinary for me.
I only have the regular watch 4 but the new versions really don't look that much better option wise. If next years watch 6 pro has a rotating bezel i'll probably upgrade it then. Also, I skipped buying a new samsung phone as well this year. My S21 ultra from last year is still fire. Great phone.

I remember when the Galaxy watches came with a nice pedestal charger, which was cool because your watch would stand up straight and look like a nice alarm clock. Now they just giv you those cheap-o pucks. I'm surprised Floss doesn't talk abaout that like the removal of the IR blaster and the package presentation.
It's a magnet Puck. And with the new clasp it naturally sits on my night stand and looks like an alarm clock. While charging its twice the size battery of the older watches in roughly. An hour. However I wear mine most nights cause I love looking at my sleep report. Glory of not having go charge a watch every single day.
Well the 5 pro at least comes with a nicer puck than what came with my watch 3. The 5 pro has a pretty heavy metal one. Plus they gave the duo wireless charger away for free so thats all I used so far.... Only had to charge my watch once after the initial charge out of the box lol

I had the GW4 Classic. I rarely ever used the rotating bezel. I don't miss it on the GW5. But, I wish they would have kept it for the people that do use it.

I am definitely mad about the bezel. I almost returned it until I realized I only spent $46 on it because of deals so I feel forced to keep it. I had already given my watch 4 away so I would have had to spend $300 for a new one.

Sitting here with my S3 Frontier, never had an issue with it, but want an upgrade...no rotating bezel on the 5 Pro is just such a bummer. I might go with the 4 Classic, but with the trade in's, the 5 Pro is only like $20 more. Decisions decisions....
