I'm a dealer so I see the wholesale prices day by day. All those prices are salvage title or down payments. They all sell for more than listed here at dealer auctions. Trust me, I'm there watching them roll by.

Paint Quality is TOP NOTCH, 10x better than Honda Civic Paint, It's like Candy Coated like an M&M paint, it's nice....It survived me driving it 200 miles home on a blown radiator on H (my fault I should have had it towed), radiator fixed, runs like a champ still to this day and my mom drives it and her dogs around.

My wife had a 2014 Elantra with 74K miles, the thing was a death trap that even local Hyundai dealership didnt have a clue what was wrong even after "fixing it" and braking down 3 times. Sorry - disagree with you on the Honda Civic - mine started burning oil at 80K, a know problem with every year Civic. Also the windshield wipers are stuck in an odd position (Honda knows about this, but won't fix it , they want $300). The driver's seat belt is another issue - it easily gets stuck and mine has gotten stuck where I can't open the driver's door. Again this is a known issue. The Civic is small and cramped. If you are over 6 foot good luck. My friend owns a Corolla - it's not as sporty, but way more leg room and easier to get in and out of. His just turned 300K, without issues, and his wife's Toyota Camry has almost 400K. I know Honda has a good reputation, but my next car will be a Toyota. By the way I've owned Honda's since 1977. I think their quality has gone down hill.

Scotty Kilmer has left the room. An 010 Corolla with 200+ K on the odo still sells for 10K in Canada, instead get the Yaris or 2 gen Prius, Used Civics are a hit or miss, I'd go for a Honda FIT. Nice Accords are also big money, especially the low mileage ones. Also be careful with used Camrys! Many we used as taxi cab / ride share, like Uber. Instead get a high mileage Matrix that's not rusted out. If you are a mechanic, get a BMW 3 series with a 6 cyl engine, The older ones re actually reliable. Stay away from older VW especially the made in Mexico models. Elantras can be fun and practical with the manual tranny. An Older CRV is viable, 2004, 05, 06, if you can find one that's not rusted to pieces. Avalons are nice and comfy + super reliable, but can be heavy on gas in city driving. Mazda 3 between 2010 and 2013 are avail for under 5k, Fun and reliable cars, plus comes in a hatchback, which is also practical.

They're fun to drive and if you get one with a manual. And you can actually improve as a driver because that car will basically not hinder you. Hell, if you want to drift the cock sucker go ahead, just huck it into a turn going a little to fast The rear ends gonna step out. Not to mention the cars are extremely easy to work on and you can get the SVT or the 05 to 07 gen. You can get the ST which is just as fast as the. SVT But if that's still Not cutting it.
