Do you two have jobs? Yes! We both have full time careers. Brian is a Software Engineer and Kerry is a Graphic Designer.
Is this vlog a paid promotion with the cruise line? No, we have never worked with a cruise line before (I doubt they even know who we are 😂). If that ever changes, we will be sure to let you know in the video.
What are those black pouches around your neck? We use the lanyards to carry some camera equipment, but many cruisers like to wear lanyards to hold their room key card.
What camera do you use? We typically use the DJI Pocket II, however, when we are in the water we use the Go Pro Hero 9, and in Alaska we occasionally used the Nikon P1000 for wildlife shots. What is a GUSS? GUSS is our name for a Towel Animal! It is a childhood memory for Brian that has lived on for years. You can see the home video moment where GUSS was born in Adventure of the Seas Day 6 (We Made the News) and Allure of the Seas Day 3 (Sea Day).
Is that one thing you said serious? Almost certainly not. If you’re new to the channel, we have really dry, sarcastic senses of humor. So if you’re questioning if it’s sarcasm - it probably is.
How do I ask a dinner time question? Leave a comment on any video and let us know it’s supposed to be answered at dinner time. We’re always looking for new questions (even if the next cruise we can answer it on is a long long way out).
Is it really pronounced CoCo “Key”? Royal Caribbean has said itself that it is pronounced “Key” in a FAQ of their own here: creative.rccl..... To each their own on this pronunciation!
When and how did you meet? We met in February of 2020 via a dating app. We answer this question in more detail in our Independence of the Seas Day 2 (Swimming with Pigs) video.

I just want to thank you both for single-handedly blowing up every relationship in the world with this dinner time question. My wife and I looked at each other and said that we don't really disagree about anything. A few seconds later, one of us quietly said "well there is the way you…" And it was off to the races. 😝 I'm with Brian on the sneezing and Kerry on the bath mat. But life wouldn't be fun if we agreed on every single thing!

Keylime pie is a must for sure in Key West. With that said, there’s so many other amazing things to do as well in Key West. So much history there.

Have you ever tried to make your own keylime pie before?
I am a big fan of keylime pie.
I found a recipe in a kraft book (from Canada) and they had a recipe with pretzels as the crust. It's delish. Sweet and salty. I am a Graham girlie.
Crust - 1 & 1/4 cup crushed pretzels. 1/4 cup sugar. 6 tbsp melted butter (I use margarine). Mix together and place in pie plate, even up the sides and set in fridge.
Filling - 3 cups thawed cool whip, 1 can condensed milk, 1/2 cup lime juice. 1 packet of lemon-lime Kool aide (unsweetened) or similar. Mix together throughly.
Pour mixture into pie plate and freeze for 4 to 6 hours.
Enjoy.
My wife and I had the same issue with the matt vs towel. Most Matt's will have a rubberized backing these are not machine washable or dryable. The backing degrades and clogs both and gets on everything in the wash

Funny thing, last night, as I was getting out of the shower, and my husband was in bed reading, I told him I didn't like having a bath mat when I get out of the shower and that I want a bath towel. You know what he said to me? "Bless You!" LOL!!

You guys need a Ruggable Bathmat. Thick, but you can take the top off for easy washing. Best of both worlds
What are the price points for the Top 3? Maybe that might be a factor in which key lime pie people prefer?

We did a Key Lime Crawl in Key West in Feb 24...here is the ratings of the 6 we tried and enjoye. Starting from our least favorite to the best one we had. #6- Blue Heaven. #5- Kermits. #4- Mattheessens. #3- Pepe's. #2- Moon dog. #1- Key Lime Pie Bakery. We had a great time doing this. Suggest everyone to try it!!

The graphics in this entire segment look awesome! My wife and I were saying “They always have the best overlays here, any time you want a list, or a pop up, it’s always there.” And then the lists this time just have such a cool aesthetic! Of course when I said that, my wife went “I mean, she *is* a graphic designer…” haha
I prefer the bath towels just because at the end of the week I do my deep cleaning of my bathroom and I use the towel to wipe down and pick up/collect all the hair and dust before mopping. Then I take that bath towel and shake off all the hair and dust that was collected into the big bin or backyard before putting it into the washer. Towel is just easier to work with than a big thick mat. You can frequently wash the towel but mats you tend not to frequently wash it.

I love watching you two. I am a huge foodie as well. You have to go on a Virgin cruise just to try the food. I normally cruise with Royal, but did go on a Virgin cruise and absolutely loved the food. The ship is very neat, but wasn't my favorite. But we are going again, just for the food and their and their made in-house ice cream.
After I sneeze I say "Excuse me" and nobody feels burdened to say "Bless you." Perfection.

My husband and I have the same debate about the bath mats! We have the bath towels mats because he wants them more.
If you’re in Channelside in Tampa, you can take the streetcar to Ybor and have a Cubano/Cuban sandwich tasting.
I guess you could also just drive out to Tampa randomly to do that, or do it pre-cruise if you’re departing from there. It seems like your mostly go to Canaveral though, which makes sense.
Thinking the same thing as the last time you rated the pies - what are the prices?? For me that is a factor and if on your list #1 cost $10 but #2 was $5, I'd be going for #2 almost every time. Thanks for the content, appreciate it as always!

2. New York is a cruise port and you could do so many rankings like cheesecake, black and white cookies, bagels, pizza etc - only downside is it's less walkable
3. I'm a Libra and my wife Jo is a Leo and the way we relate to you both individually and as a couple is insane. For example, I also do not like to be perceived, Brian, and Jo related to Kerry's need to be blessed haha

There is nothing close to a Nanaimo Bar. We made some when we lived in Hawaii and the first person we shared it with said "It broke da mouth!"
I have a solution for your Bathmat debate....Use a bathmat and put a towel on top of it. That way you can wash the towel and Kerry gets her cushy bathmat. (That's how we do it) 😉

That’s what I would recommend for you, too. We change out (and wash) our bath mat weekly when we clean the restroom. The bath mat seems a little more slip resistant than a towel, but using both is the best of both worlds.
Was in key West for Christmas last year (2024) and we went on our own key lime pie crawl. My favorite was Kermit's.

As last time, we love these port food investigations. Great entertainment and love your interactions. Suggestion, take a cruise out of Boston (our closest home port) and do a lobster roll. Yum, and a food that ALL local restaurants have the signs, “BEST lobster rolls”

Towel-like bath mats in hotels bunch up and slip and are basically a temporary version of a non-slip bath mat used in homes. If your bath mat at home extends to toilet footing, maybe Brian is trying to inform you about a certain dribble issue common in men. Brian’s skincare has improved a lot.

I get the bath mat / towel debate. For me, bath mats get messy bc we walk by the bath to get to the toilet so it gets lots of traction. I have to step out onto something REALLY clean every time I shower. & if I used a mat, I would have to vacuum it every day & wash it once a week, which is a pain. So bath towel wins for me!
Next time you’re in Key West, why not give the pie tour a break and discover the house on Duncan street where THE ROSE TATTOO was filmed. There is an interesting story of the house next door too… see the rose painted on the bottom of the pool. You can even see it on Google Earth.

Well this is the first vlog I've watched where people actually go around tasting key lime pies which is somewhat unique. I am curious how much money you spent buying/eating all of these pies and what did you do with the remainder of the pies you did not film eating? Did you go back on the ship and indulge in more food? Going on the ship next week (our 3rd cruise on her) with KW the next day but as I do not like that pie, will do my own tour at various stops around the island. Thanks for sharing your journey!
