Its a 32 bit board with an STM32F103RET6. it usesTCM2208 for bed and extruder, it uses TCM2160's for the X and Y
Bought it Amazon last month for 250,- works flawless if you know how they WORK...
There is a bad implementation of power recovery that messes up vase mode because it writes a lot to the sd card, so it stutters. Solution on delta machines was to disable power recovery.
hey i saw your video of the ft 5 upgrades, what firmware did you use for the bltouch
Nice video! So I happened on one of these for $200 open box. I snapped it up because I love my ender 3 so figured this would be great. I'm seriously blown away that it has no bed level sensor but it has a filament runout sensor... I can deal without a filament sensor but manually leveling a print bed on a "higher end" printer? Insanity. Ordered a BL touch and I'm waiting until that comes to even assemble this thing. On my Ender 3 it also has a glass bed with the chalky coating and I find that if I get the nozzle height just right, clean the bed with rubbing alcohol, and use glue - it comes out fine. Hopefully I can do similar with this bed material and get good results.
this thing must have massive flaws. Otherwise it wouldnt have seen the craziest price drop we have ever seen on a printer.
This is a tinker's paradise. Mechanical is mechanical and motion is motion. Nothing wrong with the components. Maybe a new board and configuration is in order but loads of potential. With the large discounts I'll be most happy to snap a few up and have a great corexy for a fraction of the price of any of the Voron builds. btw a bit of glue stick goes a long way for bed adhesion.
There is the issue. The printer should be advertised as such then. "Needs work to be functional." or "fixer uper". This is advertised as a build and start printing printer and it is very much so not.
I managed to snag two on sale 429 on Amazon obviously they are not selling but for that price and I have to spend maybe 200 more it’s miles cheaper then a voron or any other diy core xy out there. It’s a decent deal and I might throw in new boards and get a proper x axis and I should still be pretty decent. For the price 2 of these and the deal I got I might barely be able to build a voron or any other diy core xy. Worth it for the sale price for sure 800 though I’d pass 100%
Just got it of amazon for 250 :P
Wanted to buy the 10 cr SE... but for 250... since i am nut and spend a fortune on my ender 3 max to make it work, why not this :P
I have one and the stepper drivers are gigantic for the x and y, they are not gonna driver those nema 23 silently. Officially they are 459 on creality website now, I got one for 200, put a bl touch? Led and the th3d screen downgrade with actual marlin.
I went to Microcenter to pick up some filament and left with a $200 open box Ender 7 :) I've built a hypercube previously so I'm confident I can fix some of the issues pointed out. Good luck with yours - $200 is a pretty stellar price for the machinery alone.
@@ajmckay2 I bought a "parts or not working one for 200 like 11 months ago. I bought the th3d screen kit so I could run regular marlin. Much nicer prints even without abl. Just so u know there is not a ton of documentation on firmware for this machine as it is not that popular so it is not supported by slicers, and aftermarket products. I may switch to an skr or mkr board so I can run modied firmware for an ender 6, which has way better support. Just a heads up. Also creality no longer host bl touch firmware updates on their sight. You have to find it thru somewhere else like embrace making website. But I have had really nice prints since changing firmware and screen to th3d stuff.
i am saving for a bamboo
Is this ender 7 worth getting ?
No.
@@Fugatech3DPrinting why’s that
@@monsterstorm78 I say why in great detail in the video.
So they are under 300 now black friday 🤔
I still wouldn't but as long as you know what you are getting into.
@@Fugatech3DPrinting yes I'm looking at the elegoo neptune x, seems much better same price
I dont agree with any of your comments. Just because some other guys posts negative video and cuts it you should refer to it. You need to explore settings, you need to understand the machine before just pressing the print button. If you had the time to do that you could create better videos. regardless of what you say, this machine just looking at the components it uses, it has far more potential than what you think. most poeple buy printer to upgrade them, does not makes sense. This ones comes with very good and high quality level upgrades. You completely did not mention that.
You clearly didn't watch the whole video. What Joel did to his printer had not bearing on my review. The fact that you can't just hit print on this printer when using its own slicer to do basic tasks like vase mode, is a huge red flag. This machine with "high quality level upgrades" as you put it, doesn't even come with an ABL and is as loud as a machine from 2016.
@@Fugatech3DPrinting Did you even open the printer before stating it had old stepper drivers ? you should test more, and look at the full potential of all the components. Electronics anyone can upgrade, look at the metal components, most people will buy a printer to make upgrades. This one has full potential and no need to do any metal upgrade out of the box. Check inside the box, they have upgraded their motor drivers and far better quieter now. there are a huge price drop too so I think now the opposite will happen. By the way, you should normally have a ventilation system ANYWAY inside your shop for safety, so why would you even complaint about the printer being too noisy ?you are missing the point, and you need to test further.
Cool, they made a newer version than what they sent me. Classic Creality. Either way, the review stands and everyone should stay away from this printer.
I stopped watching Joel when he started slapping printers together halfassed and expecting them to print.
There is always something in a Creality printer that spoils an otherwise good design, the BL Touch firmware is guaranteed to have an incorrect X Y offset so when probing the bed the nozzle is placed where the probe tip should be and you end up with an incorrect mesh this is endemic to Creality machines and one can only assume they are not bothered and leave it to the community to fix, it cant print at the claimed 250mm/s according to the FB user group, at least in usable quality, #Another Creality Lemon
God this looks bad. How did they mess up that bad.
Crux is pronounced "crue".
Future reference.
not worth it, they make the same printer so many way but its almost all the same thing.
