Whenever I'm suffering from a migraine, I'll put on some noise-canceling headphones and play Side Effects on repeat. The heavy beat tickles my brain and helps relieve a lot of the pain I'm feeling. Music with heavy trance beats do wonders for my severe headaches!
You definitely will enjoy Side Effects performances! And can confirm that Victory Song live is INSANE.
I echo several others: you're going to love Levanter. It's an immensely special song for Stays.

Always happy to see Chronosaurus get the appreciation it deserves. The song seems to be in this weird position of being at the same time really well-regarded and kinda forgotten (I don't see it mentioned that often, but if I do then only positively), which is a pity because the song is just eerie perfection. Still one of my all-time favorites of theirs and pretty unique in their discography.
Btw, if you like songs with this kinda ominous, creepy vibe (and you haven't heard it already), I'd recommend Gidle's Put It Straight - Nightmare Version.

very trueeee. a lot of older skz music does not get the hype and appreciation it deserves, in part because I think people are hesitant when it comes to woojin. a lot of their music from this time period is great though.

Chronosaurus was originally titled Time Monster (per an interview with SKZ) but they gave the monster a name Chronosaurus based on both time and a dinosaur similarly named found in Australia. From my understanding, it more just centers around that looming feeling of "running out of time". Especially when you feel like you have so much left to accomplish. I wouldn't doubt that there is an element of the workaholic need to not get left behind by how fast the industry moves and becoming irrelevant because you could produce enough or be at the forefront enough. While there is a tinge of hopefulness to not give up, it feels more like facing fear. By giving it a name, you give it less power.
Side Effects is definitely a love it or hate it title track and it definitely did not get a good response when it was first released (even within the fandom). Psytrance as a genre is a bit out there. As the title track for Cle 2: Yellow Wood, it is heavily influenced by the Robert Frost poem "The Road Not Taken". The first line of the poem talks about the road diverging in a yellow wood. The M/V is definitely rooted in the anxiety of outside influences starting to make you doubt the decision to take the road less travelled. That doubt and anxiety turns into "what if I chose the safer path" which is shown by the two version of SKZ - one on the broken down bus off the beaten path and the other in the comfortable fancy bus. But that bus shows them asleep and oblivious to everything around them. A false sense of temporary comfort but without autonomy. So while the path they chose has been the harder path, with greater challenges, fears, anxiety, missteps, loss...it was the path they chose and the one they had control to follow. From the overall storyline, this is coming off of Miroh after they escaped the Jungle City, realizing for all the anarchy and revolution they tried to stir, nothing really had changed.

Chronosaurus appreciation 🥰. It is one of my favourite skz songs. It is dramatic, vocal, meaningful to me and it has one of my fav vocal parts.
I didn't like side affects at first but it is a grower. Still it is not my fav. It does have one of their best choreographies and performance video is amazing.
Clé series (Miroh, Side effects and Levanter) has a backstory of choice and its consequences. Few scenes and two moons symbolise the worlds where they have chosen the easy path and the road not taken. Most of cle MVs have a key of some sort in it. Chan had explain that the key is a focus point or a goal that seem to be a solution but the focus keeps you from seeing things around you so only when you let go of the idea of a one key you can see the whole picture. I love the whole series and its lost boys aesthetic and angst lyrics

Omg yes chronosauras is so freaking underrated but its literally one of my favorite stray kids songs for sure. Like the arrangement and vocals and everything about it is just so haunting and beautiful (reminds me a little of why I like their song "3rd eye" as well). The moment I heard it it was like it took me somewhere else and I'm so glad you like it so much too😁💕

If you want to know the basics of their storyline from I Am Not to Go Live they have a prequel highlight reel you could watch that they made themselves. They did do a Side Effects/God’s Menu Mashup in Kingdom. Side Effects to me has some of the best live stages and the choreography is something you need to watch as it can’t be done without all the dancers that were dressed in black. One of my favorites is the one they did at the 2019 MBC music festival, they were dressed as vampires😊

Yes. Chronosaurus is so haunting. It's in my top five fave songs. It scratches all the right parts of my brain.
And about Side Effects. It is very lore heavy. I might have given you a Stray Kids Story Line list before. In order to get the full story, you need to see certain trailers & teasers as well as the videos. Some can be loosely connected & some are solidly part of the story. If you want I can give you the story list again.
Ok. Lore time. As so many others have said, Yellow Wood is based on the Robert Frost poem The Road Not Taken. As we progress, more will be involved. But we see the fractures starting here. I'm going to include the info for the trailer & teaser, as they help know the story.
If you remember in Miroh, there were slogans that the parade people were carrying. One said "Something Happened. Nothing Changed." The trailer shows this in when they left the rooftop, the city was exactly as it was before they came. The same authority. The same rally. The same system. Nothing they had done had seemed to have an impact. At the very beginning of the trailer, you saw Chan fiddling with the tag on a key he found. Now he used it to make the elevator take them somewhere else. The first divergence.
In the teaser for Side Effects, we see them with a bus ticket. The driver of the bus looks very much like one of the Authority figures from Miroh. He also has a hook on his hand. (Some form of this man has popped up from time to time in later things, but never an outright clue, just a hint.) He takes one version of SKZ "to the new world".
This is also where roles start with the members.(I'm excluding Woojin, because his role transfers to Changbin when he leaves)
-Chan is the leader, Key Keeper, and initially the holder of the compass, and later also watches of over the glitch.
-Lee Know is the support. He is always somewhere in the background doing something to help the others. He drives vehicles. He provides emotional support. He is just always there.
-Changbin is the balance & drive. (Balance was Woojin, but when he took it over he passed drive to Han) He is the one to settle arguments, and not pick sides. He is the one to encourage the others to keep going when they are exhausted.
-Hyunjin is the Way Finder. It's his role to look for alternate routes. He looks at everything in a different way than the others. This will set him at odds with Felix & the others sometime.
-Han is the motivation. He provides the encouragement to continue. He gives the reasons why they are doing what they are. Taking over as drive as well just expanded his influence.
-Felix is the Navigator & compass keeper. He is tasked with knowing where they are going. He keeps them in the direction they need. He knows where they should be, but how they get there is often at odds with Hyunjin.
-Seungmin is the cartographer/record keeper. It is his job to keep track of what has happened, where they have been, and to provide maps. You will always see him with either a notebook, a map, or a camera. This is why he was at odds with Hyunjin in Side Effects because he was making note of a dead end & tempers got high.
-I.N is the hardest to place. But he is the GLITCH. He is the odd one out from everyone. From the beginning. In the I Am Not trailer, we saw him leave the bus when he saw his clone. This wasn't supposed to happen. He is the glitch that starts everything. He will be constantly slightly out of sync with the others. He will be looking in a different direction. He will seem to hear things that the others do not. We are not sure if he was replaced, or was just not supposed to get off the bus. Glitches in the screens will happen more around him. Chan eventually starts keeping his attention on what they are doing. It will be his job to keep I.N from deviating from their path. I.N will show knowledge that he can't say and end up sad because of it.
In the Side Effects MV, we see the results of taking the "road not taken". They are constantly wandering, driving across paths they have taken before. Sometimes following roads that others have left. But constantly trying to find new ways. They run into dead ends. They see countless evidence of what has gone before. As the lyrics said, "It hurts more because they thought it would be easy." They are having to find a way to build their own roads...And that is never easy.
We also get a glimpse of the floating city that appeared in the sky in Hellevator, as Han looks into the night sky.
We see two moons with different phases in the sky as well.
At the very end we see Hyunjin laying on the ground under an overpass. He seems to have left the group after the argument with Seungmin to cool off. We also see that Chan has the compass still. He is the one to make sure that Hyunjin is safe with them again. The key in the water seems to be to the truck that they then abandon. Again, another road.

In fact, Stray Kids songs have a constant storyline. It is well tracked if you listen to albums gradually from the very first one. When you start listening to albums in order, you will understand and see many similar moments in different songs, such as: two moons, keys, doors, elevators, bus. This is an exciting journey through the world of Stray Kids music. And the song Side Effects from the album Cle` 2: Yellow Wood.
    You can see they
face difficulties, fight with each other,
are not sure about the future, experience side
    effects and run into obstacles.
it perhaps symbolizes their path as
idols, how they were hated for their unusual
sound, how they struggle to stand out in
    an k-pop industry, they
just want to create their own music and do what they want

i'm glad you came around to stray kids, i think that they are kinda underrated even though they are very famous and successful and i love that they make their own shit. they got creative music and nice lyrics and their old stuff are just as good as their new ones whether it's title tracks or b-sides, they have now become my fav boy group and one of my favorites in kpop. they have great vocals, amazing dancing but what separated them from the rest for me was their rap style.

For me Side effects is all about how they chose the unknown road when they debuted, and they did so with confidence but they kinda lost that when people continued to criticize them, they started to worry and doubt themselves while listening to those voices, feeling like they were giving everything and it still wasn't enough, that maybe they would change because of what was expected of them, but in the end still chose the hard path (in the mv they reject the comfy bus and go on with the one they had, even with all the hardhips and fights)

Chronosaurus was written when they had not made a major breakthrough yet. My take of the song was a manifestation of the pressure and anxiety they were feeling. It is generally known that Idol groups have to make big within 2 to 3 years or they will be forgotten. Due to the Stray Kids' musical style alien to the Korean audience, their popularity was very low in their early years. I believe the Side Effect is in the similar strain depicting their self doubts and emotional conflicts on their course. I am sure all the nay-sayings, time constraints and self doubts were heavily weighing on them. These songs are the time capsule of those emotions in my opinion. It is wonderful that the western audience recognized their genius first, and it gave a big boost for their career.

Okay so I am a baby stay but I've been watching a ton of reaction videos, and this is the first time I've actually seen the Chronosaurus video at all. I did see a Stay comment on a different reaction video to pay attention to numbers and clocks, especially in their older videos because they usually have important dates involved. So as soon as I saw the four clocks at the end of Chronosaurus 17:39 I had to look up what each time meant for Stray Kids
12/19: JYP tells them that "Stray Kids will debut as nine" with Lee Know and Felix rejoining the group
01/08: Stray Kids release their first Mixtape ahead of their debut, featuring Hellevator
    03/25: Their debut date!!!
    08/01: Stray Kids reveal STAY's name-our birthday!!
Anyway, I thought that was really cool and wanted to share with you

The first time I listened to side effects I was immediately hooked despite normally disliking instrumental/dubstep/edm songs but what truly got me hooked was the dance performances. I think its still one of their best dances its just so mesmerizing and symbolic. the changes in the song are jarring but fit with the theme of confusion so well. I hope you can learn to love it as much as I do :)
for the mv: the album this title track is on 'yellow wood' is based on a poem 'the road not taken' by Robert Frost. in this poem it talks about two paths, and wanting to take both but ultimately taking the unbeaten path that no one has taken before. If you watch the album trailer (maybe when you do the album reviews? every album has a trailer that i highly recommend bc they give you lore information) you can see in the trailer that there's two paths: one where they take the bus and one where they don't. the mv is the one where they don't, but it leads to side effects: fighting eachother, hitting roadblocks, getting lost, brokendown vehicle etc. They ultimately overcome it and end up at the same place where they wouldve been if they'd taken the bus (thats my theory at least).
honestly the skzlore is complicated and recently they've seemingly been ignoring it?? idk nobody has the answers... anyways goodluck on your journey :)
