Both EXO and BTS are 3rd-gen followed by NCT limitless family with many subunits from 2016-2023 with NCT WISH (new debut) and Stray Kids etc. EXO has been active group for past 12+ years which all the members except the youngest are in their early 30s. NCT active since 2016 - present which SM just debuted new subunit known as NCT WISH (new) that went by NCT NEW TEAM during their pre-debut. STRAY KIDS is 4th gen that debuted March 2018.
We brushed the subject during the intro but Idk if you watched it so let me explain a little bit better: my friend was around for few kpop groups when she was 15, but she never actually stanned any of them. As you can see in the video, she had heard of EXO but never listened to them, and I wanted to start with them because for me, they were my first introduction to kpop as a whole and it felt right to lead with them. Unlike AOA for exemple, EXO are also still active as a group today, so in my head, even if they didn't debut with the 4th or 5th gen, they are part of it. Idk if that makes sense? There's only been 7 songs from NCT U that repeat members and the majority of those are bsides: "The 7th Sense" and "Baggy Jeans" have the same 5 members. "Baby Don't Stop", "Call D" and "Swipe" have the same 2 members. "Boss" and "Volcano" have the same 7 members.
