I think I still have a bottle of that Revlon polish you were talking about. Because of how I store my polishes (dungeon style) I have several that could easily be 20 yrs old and still work.
The vintage polish (1980s / early 1990s) that Charmed reminds me of is Loreal's Sea Lily. Loreal also had a magenta with blue and purple shimmer called Sea Orchid that was AMAZING.
Several other companies seem to have come out with something similar to Charmed for spring. Deborah Lippmann, Nails Inc. and Different Dimension come to mind, although KL Polish is still the most affordable and the easiest to get for me. PS. I got both Charmed and Miss Kensington from this collection and I always feel so validated whenever I happen to buy your favourite polishes from whatever brand's collection. Yes, I'm weird. I know. PS2. I really, really like you so, even though the shipping for Nine Zero is very expensive, I am now determined to support you and buy some of your polishes next time you have a sale (Black Friday or whatever). I already know I like the colours and there is not doubt in my mind that the quality is going to be amazing ;)
Ooh that’s so awesome that Charmed is a close dupe for your Mom’s fav! I think Kat will really like that since her Mom likes to swatch her KL polishes for her. I don’t share nail polish appreciation with my Mom but I have started it with my daughters.
love your nail polish reviews and swatches not only are they informative but super relaxing for some reason lol! I have enjoyed a lot of the polishes I have tried from this line. I will be picking up a couple of these. Have you tried the white and the black polish from this line?
I thought I was the only person who doesn't like fat brushes in my nail polish. Everyone always goes on about them like they're awesome, but they're just a recipe for a mess with me. Charmed is gorgeous! I think Revlon has a very similar color again - I'm almost positive that I've seen one very close to Charmed! Tell your mom she might want to check!
Yeah, I think so too. For me personally, I quite like broad but thin and flexible brushes, because with these I feel like I have good control (manipulation wise and product amount wise. An example would be Orly, Morgan Taylor or Barry M new brushes). Classic squre ones are good too. However when they're fat like these from KL (or essence for example) and rounded at the same time, they are kind of clumsy and difficult. Btw. the brand trend it up has a "holo" collection with a purple like this + other colours in same formula (but I don't know if the brand is available in the US)
I picked up a revlon polish at walmart called Daydreamer that might be close to what your mom used years ago. Its a sheer very light pinky purpley color with a goldish shift
I haven't been doing nail polish long but am disappointed with these colors . I was drawn to there polishes early on before I saw many others . Thanks for the video , I always look forward to seeing your name !
Will you by any chance be reviewing any of the ILNP real magic flakies? I bought a few and they are the first flakies I have ever tried (I'm pretty new in my polish addiction) and I'm curious how they compare to other translucent flakies toppers.
This is probably a dumb question, but how much do you wipe off the brush before applying to get those thin coats on? Do you only wipe off the one side that isn't touching your nail and leave the other side, do you wipe halfway down the brush on the application side, do you lightly wipe the whole length of the brush, etc? I'm having trouble either accidentally glopping on a huge ball of polish at once or not applying enough at once and have huge streaks even with nice polish formulas.
It also depends on your nail lenght. What I do is slowly (cca 2-3 sec.?) wipe the side that won't be touching my nail (allowing some excess flow down from the painting side too) and then I start to paint. With shorter nails you may want to slightly touch the neck of the bottle with the blob of polish to get a little more off. It is difficult to explain in a comment :D, but I hope it was helpful. I think cutepolish might have a video on it too.
Don't forget, you can use code JESSFACE for 10% off on klpolish.com!
Charmed!!!!!❤️ I just saw a polish just like this at Walgreens today, I think it was a sally Hansen or something and I need to go get it.
Pinky looks so classy and elegant on you!
For not liking the KL polish brush, you maneuver the brush amazingly!!! I can't believe how easy you paint your nails, you're an expert at it...

I owned that Revlon polish! It was also a fave of mine and I mourned it as well. Looks like I'm going to be purchasing this one!

Charmed kind of reminds me of Zoya's Leslie. Great video!
I've been so obsessed with ur videos lately✨ I've subscribed and am looking forward to more reviews!!

Thank you! I have the black and white but I believe (terrible memory) I've only tried the black so far. It was pretty good!
Same! Don’t even wear polish on my hands hardly ever but I love these videos 😂
I think I am going to give them a try. I have enjoyed the formula overall so far for this brand! Thanks
They're nice! I think both were 2 coats for me.
Skylynn White thank you! I don’t mind two coats I’ve found that to be my standard for this line.

Great review Jess. I loved the story about your mam's favourite polish! That is so sweet! :)
Love the story about your mom. 💚
eye makeup is very pretty Jess 😊 can anyone recommend a really good ridge filling base coat? and a cuticle cream/oil too?
Mollie Rollman I really like Glisten and Glow ridge filler. I love their cuticle oils pens also. Super delivery system.
"Charmed" is a very beautiful color, you can't find many Polishes like that anywhere these days, it seems
Such a pretty collection! Charmed is just gorgeous.. 😍
Great review, I loved hearing about the shoe box of nail polish hehe how sweet 💗💅

Yay new video!! I have been eagerly awaiting a new one!
I love charmed....it is beautiful😊 I was just wondering why you don't do swatches of Orly nail laquer. Would love to see some of them.
Hi...........have you tried out her lotions yet?..........think charmed is wroth getting.........so,pretty!!
Love the review! 💖🌸
How similar would you say Charmed is to Rainbow Wishes from the Sparkle Like a Unicorn set by Nails Inc.?

NailthePolish exactly what I do as well!
Thanks so much!! I took your advice and immediately my polish application was a lot cleaner and easier :)
:( Code doesn't work for me. Love the video though.
I think I would call Selene a "banana yellow" =)
very nice ❤🌹👋👋

Re: the ad. I love when they say a color works for all skin tones and only have light-skinned Black women representing all Black women.
You’re still missing spots to paint your nails
Selene looks like a school-bus yellow.
How... charming.....
