There are connectors onboard for a shelly. I have this working. There is a 2pin-connector labeled R5. Go right to it and there is a 3 or 4 pin (depends on the series) connector (the direction to the 2 buttons T and P). The first of the 3/4 pins is ground (PIN 20) the next has no meaning and the next (PIN 5) is +24V. You can use this as a power source for the shelly.
@@hajcsaka At the end I ordered www.meross.com/product/29/article/ . It has its own power supply and you need to connect only one wire to Propamatic motor.
Nice, have you spoken to Hormann about doing this as it could affect your warranty, of course if it's an older model, out of warranty it should be fine.
Hi. This was what I was looking for. A schema of the wiring can be useful in these situations. Had to watch the video a few times before I understood the wiring. Have you maybe already added a sensor to see if the garage door is open or closed?
Really helpful video, thanks! What’s the connector thing called that you spliced into the 24V output from the transformer? Looking to buy some online but not sure what they’re called. And where’s the brown wire going from the transformer, is it into the same terminal as the blue wire that goes to the Shelly?
hey first thanks for sharing. i've used this method with (almost) success. In order to close/open the door, i have to press 2 times on shelly button in order to action it. e.g door closed and I want to open it: Press button on phone ( switch going to off and door stays closed) then i have to press again the button on phone (switch goes ON) and this time the door is opening. Its quite annoying to press 2 times for each close or open the door. any fix for this issue?
Hi, I've tried this today and it doesn't work great for me. The Shelly device seems to die after the first impulse, perhaps the engine takes all the electricity?
@@repahsyks My Hormann is slightly different but there is a 24v pin and a zero that I could use to connect my Shelly (the switch attached also uses the zero pin)
@@hajcsaka Search the manual for "Supramatic E 9" image and section 3.4.1. "If an auxiliary voltage is needed for an external button, then a voltage of approx. + 24 V DC is available for this at terminal 5 (as opposed to 0 V at 20), whereby the total current drawn off at terminal 5 must not exceed 100 mA." I used pin 5 and 20 to power the Shelly. Working fine.

Thanks a lot for the information @jemand8962
yes it helped. I was looking for this Promatic - Shelly connection. So with Shelly homekit firmware, I can use Siri to open/close the door.Great.
Do you use Shelly with same motortype what we see in video and if yes, than what type this engine exactly ? thx.

Thanks Matt HomeAssistant very helpful!!!
Great way of doing it. Done it now the same way. Thanks

Well done Matt.
Just what I was looking for. Many thanks. 👍

Thank you for the video. Is this a Promatic 3 or 4 ?

I read about this issue somewhere else. You should try setting the long push time longer or shorter.
Thank you

Can't you take 24V from the white connector next to where the switch is connected in the Hormann (so next to teh red/black connectors)?
Have you tried your suggestion?
I went out and tried, with no success :-( do you need to turn this output on?

@@MrBPDude Hi what is your Hormann engine type exactly , and did you succeed ? the system is works great ?

Is it similar to Hormann Promatic 2? Anybody aware?
