    Nice video and a very detailed one. I have question though. Does it work if I continue using both Shelly and remote control? If so, is there any chance that Shelly tracks remote control signals (by any chance)?
    If the answer is no, is there any other way to get the actual current gate position (closed/opened)?

      Hey Thanks a lot! As far as I know, it works with remote and shelly. But there is no way to know exact position of the door. the only way I think is to know if it is either open or not.

    Boa noite. Tenho um motor de portão da TAU e comprei um Shelly 1PM Plus para fazer exactamente a mesma coisa que este vídeo. Acontece que o esquema de ligações do meu motor é muito diferente e não me consigo desenrascar. Será que me pode ajudar?

    • @ktulinho
      @ktulinho  2 года назад +1

      Eu penso que para este tipo de motores, só é possível com Shelly 1 por causa de ser o único que tem "Dry contacts.". Em relação ao esquema, tens de tentar perceber no manual do portão onde seriam feitas as ligações para um botão fiasco. O Shelly serial ligado no mesmo local. Já agora, pode ser que este vídeo também ajude: ruclips.net/video/V9DtBYlXo54/видео.html

    How is this automated? You have to press a button. I mean it’s a great video and very detailed I just don’t see any automation. How can I make a garage door automatically open when I pull in and automatically close when I leave. Now that would be genius. Some sort of iftt thing with this switch maybe?
    Thumbs up on the vid was enjoyable even if it didn’t cover what I was looking for. Ty.

      @@ktulinho, greetings from Portugal ;)
      You can achieve this by using Shelly 1 with a reed switch on the SW port.
      You will need one that has a long cable so you can install it on the garage motor rack point where your garage door is fully closed.
      The second part of the reed switch (that contains the magnet) needs to be placed on the chain/belt (close to the safety release mechanism).
      You can find a good example of this setup here: www.codepug.com/assets/images/garage_magnet_reed_switch.jpg
      I have a Ditec Top603H, that is the smaller brother of your garage motor (more powerful) and I noticed that you have wired your shelly using 220V power source.
      I did the same as you did on this video and in fact this is the most correct way of doing it. This avoids messing up with the board 24V direct power supply, eliminating all potential problems related with the motor power transformer over-usage and will never void the motor motherboard warranty, but creates an additional challenge when using reed switches.
      Most of the reed switches you find out there are 12V/24V. You need to be sure that you buy one that is ready to cope with (up to) 240V.
      After installing it, you should be able to get the state of the reed switch from the shelly 1 directly. When the reed switch os closed (both parts close to each other), the switch state seen by the Shelly 1 will be reported as "ON", meaning that your garage door is closed (you can invert this logic on the shelly settings).
      This way you have an accurate way to confirm that your garage door is really closed.
      Be sure that you set your shelly switch mode to "Detached Switch", otherwise when the reed switch gets closed it will trigger the Shelly (and you don't want that).
      Hope this helped.
      Great video, btw!
      Cheers

    • @BenNeill
      @BenNeill 2 года назад +2

      @@ktulinho Yeah I doubt it's possible without a reed switch (from what I've read anyway)
      Shelly have one now that is wifi connected, but any old one will work
