Six and a half minutes of injectable inspiration right there. Amazing
this was a fun video to make
Where is the missing 5s rofl
So true 😊
Youre definitely an inspiration for me! I was at CIM too. Finished 3:17:31 which is almost 20 mins faster than my previous PR. Seeing your videos inspires me to BQ at 43. I'm going to sign up for the Tunnel Marathon next year like you did as well!
great PR!! 🔔🔔
It might be weird for me to say that I’m proud of all the success you’ve had this year since I don’t have anything to do with it, but that’s the feeling I get.
I get it. That's why I put the Kofuzi Run Club on the singlet for this race. We run as a pack.
Man, you had one hell of a year of racing and putting out excellent content. Good work, brother!
Such a great video! This was my second marathon ever and I was lucky to finish in about 3:49, so I am just blown away by you and everyone running in that 3 hour range!
Legs are still feeling it almost a week later 😅 well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great job!
Great job. I’ve been watching you for about the last year and find your videos inspiring as I have started my running journey at 57. You’re never too late to start. I was notified this morning that I was selected in the lottery to run the Chicago Marathon in 2023. I hope to see you there.
See you at the shakeout!
You just finished your trip to Austin and still managed to run such a good time. That’s quite amazing!
I'm exhausted
I was feeling kind of meh about my runs this week due to the weather. This was a much needed booster shot. Thank you!
go get it!
Cousin Ko, the music you choose to go with these race recaps gets me every time. Let's Go!
thanks Thomas!
Featuring in a Kofuzi's video has to be some kind of achievement! Great experience, cheers from the guy in the green shirt at the end of the race!
Yo!
This one has me California dreamin!
Awesome job and congratulations!
Hey that’s me! Thanks for the tag 😊 1:44
great to run with you!
Love your race videos man. I got back hard into running this year after a long hiatus. You have been a constant source of motivation (found you after searching for a review of the Gel Nimbus 24). Looking forward to seeing greater things in 2023!
happy running!
Nice meeting you at CIM! This was my first marathon and I started running because of your channel. Cant wait for the next one and keep up the great content ❤
congratulations on that finish!
You make running SO COOL man. I'm running my first marathon this January and I couldn't be more hype after watching this!!
enjoy the race!
What an effort ❤️ 2023 is gonna be a hell of a year, let's go!
Love this! Marathon runs in USA seem to be so positive events. Need these drums and power buttons here in Poland! also these Superblasts looking fire
once Matt hit that power up, he was gone! he finished about two minutes ahead of me
You, Drew, and Co. made running the marathon look effortless! Love the music, filming, and editing. Congrats on a great race and vid!!
Great to see you again this weekend!
@@kofuzi same!! hope you are feeling better today :)
High quality race recap video, and great racing + filming as usual Kofuzi! It was surreal seeing you there in person at the start line, having followed your videos for many years. I was the guy in red who seemed shocked when you turned around haha. Happy to appear in your video (helps me to inspect my running form haha)
great job out there!
I think the "The End Is Near" guy is my new favorite marathon sign ! Perfect!
the Jesus costume is what makes the sign
My testosterone increased watching this video! Can’t wait to run this next year!
The fact that you can run this fast while holding a GoPro never ceases to astound me. Congratulations on another amazing race!
thanks!
This really captures the spirit of the day. It was an amazing event. Even at 3:51 I felt like an elite just for being there.
was greeting meeting there at the end! congrats on another great marathon man. see you out there xx
great to meet you too, Joe. Congrats on that huge PB!
Nice to have met you before the race and caught up after! Even work with your pack for a bit around the 30k mark! You were looking smooth. Good stuff man!
glad to have run with you!
My town! Thanks for posting, the weather looked magical
it stopped raining right when the gun went off. just perfect
It was great meeting you at the shakeout run!! Thanks for organizing it. This was my first marathon and I ran 3:27:14, my first BQ! Great video capturing the race; I’m so glad the weather ended up being perfect. It was a great day. Congrats on a strong running year!!
congrats on the BQ!!
Great race!! 🎉 good seeing Drew hop in for a few 🙌
Awesome as always - looks great - just got some super good news today - Im running Chicago 2023! So another Kofuzi meet up woooo!
yes! see you there Kurt!
Exquisite camera work and editing! Nice race
thanks so much!
Welldone 👍👍👍👍
Nice job out there! I looked for you but hard to find in that sea of people. This was my 2nd marathon and I was able to qualify for Boston so super excited. I fell apart at mile 21 but kept it together enough to cross the line in 3:20 which is 5 minutes faster than my BQ time limit. Turned out to be a great day. I enjoy your videos and content, keep up the great work and running so well!
congrats on the BQ! hope you got to ring the bell!
@@kofuzi I sure did!!!
Got the Honolulu marathon coming up in few days and this is what I needed!!
good luck!
Love the singlet with the design!!
greg itahara did the singlet. he also is the logo designer
Nice run! Love how you captured the race.
I think I heard the one and only Rudy Novotny as the race announcer at the end? Love that guy.
Amazing. Love these race videos! Great job, Mike!
Thanks Jessica!
Dude I totally saw you in the 3 hour pen but I wasn’t 100% sure. Then you asked me how my race was at the airport and I was so surprised!
Cool to see this recap of your race! I was able to run my first sub 3 this race, and the days leading up I was watching your road to sub 3 videos! Hope to bump into you again in a future race!
Congratulations!
Could be my favourite video from you this year! 🎉👏
thank you!!
Love these videos, looking forward to seeing how the Superblast did. I can get these on discount soon!
Great video Ko! Amazing energy in this film 🙌🏻
thanks Matt!
Seeing JOE GREER amazing !
I'd never actually met him in person before. it was good to finally meet
Awesome video! Keep up the good work.
Two Thumbs Up!👍👍
thanks!
My first marathon!! Unforgettable experience!!
congratulations on the finish!
Awesome video and great job finishing the year strong! Enjoy your off season( I’m assuming a brief one 😂) and hope to catch some miles with you soon cuz 🤜🏾🤛🏻!
about a week off and then looking ahead to Tokyo!
Fantastic!
Thanks Andy!
You are the best! Nice motivation!
Brilliant content as usual and what a run
Thank you 🙏
Great Job Kofuzi!!💪 I really want to run this next year
it's a fun race
Great video ! Totally awesome !
Love your videos and this one is exceptional, as always. I do, however, miss the process videos, discussing the lead up to the marathons, your plan for how you're going to run them and the gear you decided on. I had forgotten that you were even running CIM until I saw this video come up. I guess I just really enjoyed the video journey to get to the starting line of the marathon, which you seem to have gotten away from in the past year and a bit. Maybe that's just how things evolve over time. I'll keep watching though, as I think you're super skilled at presenting running the way you do.
I'll do a more detailed recap for this race, and Tokyo will have more of a process focus
maybe the workout videos would work better for shorts? I just detest making Shorts. love making reels. making TikToks is tolerable. but the tools (and the limitations of those tools) for Shorts is prohibitively frustrating most days.
What?! No end of the race hacking footage? 😉 Solid work, Mike!
I did not push myself hard enough
We lucked out on the weather! It was so beautiful that morning!
can't ask for much better
Magical.Awesome video🤪👍
Amazing. Well done
AWESOME JOB!
Sunday was a great day for a marathon in Sac-town... I was flying out for work that day but I commented to my wife as she took me to the airport (at about 8:00 AM) that it looked great. The rain had stopped and it was cool. Near perfect conditions.
can't ask for much better
I finished my first marathon at cim 2022 at 6:02 😊
Great job!!
Uh, was that a bandit pacer? That’s a DQ if so…please let us know, maybe I’m missing something..
Ways in which I could be DQ'd from CIM 2022:
1. I ran in 40mm+ stack height shoes.
2. bandit pacer
3. using a selfie stick
the one thing that I didn't do that I see a lot of people doing in races these days is having someone (like a friend of family member) hand them a bottle.
in either event, you must be new to the channel. glad to have you here, and I hope you'll stick around for more videos. feel free to AMA or join in on the livestream M-F at 1pm central over on the Kofuzi Run Club channel.
@@kofuzi not new at all...the extension on the selfie stick is bothersome...and not necessary...but the bandit is too much. So it's cool for everyone to do this? I'm sure that'd be great for the event. I'm not trolling, just asking you rethink this type of thing. Lot's of new runners watch your channel and it is full of great content to inspire and educate, but the fact that you seem pretty brazen about disrespecting the race and all that running has given you is disturbing.
This was awesome!
sorry you weren't feeling well. hope to see you again soon!
Honored to have appeared in the video
great to run with you!
👍👍👍
Nice run 👍
So amazing 🎉
thanks Fordy!
Hey Kofuzi, Rooting for you from Korea 🇰🇷
thank you!
This will be my first Marathon next year :)
awesome! hope to see you there
The end is near Jesus was great 😂
I saw him and said, "Thank you Jesus"
Awesome
I need that singlet stat. My Chinese middle name is Tanlong (Dragon) so it go so hard
The video was great at usual Mike. Your loyal kofuzians want that singlet though. When are you going to make that happen???
I’ll have to work on that
😮 Yo, what’s going on!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
yo!
🔥 LFG 🔥
Nice job man!
thanks Steven!
Hi good day! Can you help me pick what shoes should I buy New balance x more V4 or Asics Nova blast 3?
New subscribers here 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️
Would the novablast 3 be sufficient for a marathon? Or Saucony tempus/triumph?
WOW !! after so much marathons, You are strong well done! How is the grip of the SuperBlast?
really good. there's a couple parts of this course that were wet and that I would warn the racers behind me about, but I never had any slippage
Is that 4 or 5 marathons this year? Either way, great effort. Time to put the feet up!
5th marathon this year. I'm tired.
Ahh, California International Marathon.
It is not cool to arrange a bandit pacer in the second half of the race. Not only is it against the rules but it also puts getting permitting and insurance for the race at risk.
usually, RUclips commenters just grumble about the selfie stick
Did he finish on the ladies finish line?
Nice! How were the Superblast's?
👌👏👏👏
Is CIM something like the Valencia of America? So many people seem to be training for it
I'd say that's a fair approximation. it's known as a fast course with reliably good racing conditions
5.23 mark - lol
Yo what’s going on! Hello Ko!
I was glad I only had to run 10ish miles. My body felt the after effects of TRE and travel. Kofuzi battled to get that time!
it was good to have you there. let's switch places next year
Novablast 3?
Superblast
Ohhhh, what could have been if he actually wore a carbon plated racer. Great Superblast advertisement though.
come to Dubai
Wow zero crowd support
it's not like a World Marathon Major, but there were some crowds. it wasn't the focus of this video though.
really, you go to this race because no matter what you're pace is, you'll have a deep pace group to run with. and that's your support.
If you see bottles still left at the elite tables, would you grab it? 😉
no because I have no idea what kind of flavors would be in there. what if it's cherry!?!
@@kofuzi Yes, or Blue?! (What is that, exactly?!)
5:33 someone behind is struggling with running strides :x
at mile 26, if you're not struggling with strides at that point, you didn't go hard enough
@@kofuzi ofc mine was a joke but, I don t think you have to struggle too much at the end, otherwise that was not the right pace (other possible issues excluded)
Why is Kofuzi so good with metrics, but so bad at marathon math? Race recaps always seem to have sections where he has no idea what his pace is and has convinced himself he is out of it. Maybe using the running time clocks on the course? If you didn't go out with the elites I have no idea why you would even look at those though, they have nothing to do with you. Look at your watch for running time, know your splits by mile or every 5km, as you pass the marker note if you are ahead or behind. Use your lap pace as a general indicator of speed you should be going.
Something happens to my brain where I can do math when I’m in a race. And I don’t like to memorize where my 5k splits should be because it tends to make me panic. But at this point, not knowing 5k split times seems to be causing me more stress
@@kofuzi I was shooting for 3:30 in Amsterdam so that was easy. 8 min miles. No memorization needed. Went for 3:24 in Valencia, and knew it would all be in KM, which is kind of great because KMs mean so little to me. Printed a wrist band with every k and probably checked it 25 times. Always knew within a few seconds where I was. I bet you have those 5K splits close to memorized for 3 hours with so many marathons. Others claim it's all about feel. I want to know at all times I'm 8 seconds ahead.⌚
