Crank HP. Those are the numbers from Blueprint when they ran it on an engine dyno. They sent the sheet with the motor. He talked about it in a previous video.
It's running great. It's basically a daily driver. No real issues other than for some reason, I can't get a good heater core. The heater core, I believe, isn't holding the sudden increased pressure from the engine revving up as it has kept blowing with coolant pouring inside on the pass side. Once I replaced it twice with new units, I just bypassed it in the engine compartment. Thanks for watching!
I was debating buying one for my 88 f150. Didn’t know how it would do with a 9” lift and 38s. I was told by BluePrint Engines this engine wasn’t good for trucks. How are you liking it? How’s the bottom end torque?
Thinking of the BP 408 for my '85 Bronco, so glad I saw this video! What are the other mods to the truck? How are the rear end and D44 TTB handling the power? Any overheating issues, and did you do any mods to the cooling system? The radiator looks like it's been updated?
I installed a Frostbite(Holley)FBR-FB224 radiator, which fits both the Bronco and F150. I called Holley and ordered the matching dual shroud/fan setup. I used the fan wiring install kit from Holley along with the Sniper wiring to hookup the electric fans which control the a/c function also. The water pump was a high volume from Summit Racing, I believe it was a gmb brand. I've had no issues with overheating at all. The fan shroud kit was a little disappointing as I had to drill my own holes for both the fans and the mount points, but no bending or modifying other than that. I did have to go to Oriellys a few times back and forth to match up and find the right coolant hoses. I can def hear when the cooling fans come on. The only other issue I've had is the stock heater core keeps blowing for some reason. Every new core when getting on it, blows and spews antifreeze on the passenger floorboard. I've bought several different brands from all the local parts stores and also from online, and haven't found one that doesn't blow. So for now, the heater core is bypassed with the hoses being connected together. The trans is still the stock c6. The axle is stock also. The truck has been lifted but other than that, the engine/cooling system is the only mods. It did get a high torque mini starter with wrapping, a nice set of headers/exhaust, and a set of Ford racing valve covers. I'm actually surprised the trans/rear axle is still holding up, especially with the big tires. I had expected to be pulling them by now, but they're still holding.
@@okcvet1st Thank you sir! 351w based builds are getting hard to find due to lack of cores, and I found one in stock through a vendor, but they don't say which pan it is. Good reason to order direct.
The truck needed the rear sump, so I had blueprint put one on. No issues at all with oil pan clearance. Really the only issue with clearances I had was the headers. They hit the right side frame rail and also tight against the pass firewall. Other than the exhaust not clearing the transfer case and transmission, which caused the exhaust to hang down low under the trans.
I’m contemplating one of there packages for a 69 fastback. Do you mind telling me what the time frame was from the time you ordered to delivery. And how bad was the freight charge. Informative vidoes. Short and sweet. Thanks.
It's running great still. I did notice it looks like the pan was damp along the seal edge towards the flywheel. Not sure how they seal the pan, but it may be a good idea to take it off and put some sealant on it before it's installed.
Pacesetter 72C2223, F150/F250/Bronco 2/4wd. I did have to massage the pass side firewall and frame because it seemed rather close. I didn't want to go back in after startup if it rubbed and made noise. Also if you have a 4wd w/c6, the transfer case and trans make it difficult to run exhaust with the headers, unless you like it hanging down. I used diesel flex pipe to run both left and right sides into a y connector. The engine runs/sounds great and hasn't had any issues. I'm very satisfied with the performance and setup I went with.
That is a pretty smooth idle for nearly 500 hp. Sounds great right from the first start up!
Now she sounds as good as she looks!
I’m guessing, the newness still hasn’t worn off yet!
Nice ride brother. I'm using the same BPE cylinder heads (HP9009) on my 393W stroker.
Some drive by / wot videos would be awesome truck sounds good
I was trying to do proper break-in and not get on it much. I may do a wot video soon.
Building one now for 83 F150. Can you provide cam specs? Thank you. Truck sounds great.
Hello, what are the basic cam specs?
Does it have an aftermarket Y pipe with shorty headers and what brand headers?
Any updates? Was there any cost that you weren't expecting? I'm looking to do the same in my 95 Bronco. Thanks
That dyno numbers at the end were chassis dyno number right ?

I loved the idle is smooth. What’s the cam size?
Now that it's been a while, how has it been performing? Any reliability issues? How does it do in stop/go traffic? Etc.

Did it come with a rear sump pan, or did you have to swap it out for one?
Upon ordering, I specified which one I needed.

Ford Racing valve covers.
Do you do that for a living

This one took 6 months. They say it depends on what options you pick.

Did it bolt on to stock transmission? I have an 84 bronco looking to order a 408 from bo
Yes, it bolted right up to the stock transmission/torque converter.
Are you still liking the 408? I ask because I’m getting one in my 89 f250 and I don’t want any problems.
