    What if you wanted to use the original factory outlet? Would you buy same camera?
    Thanks for helping

      Are you talking about the outlet I moved from the bumper to inside the bed?

    So curious I used the original extension you showed and I’m having issues. Is that why you changed the link to a different one?

    • @gaffordsgocoastal
      @gaffordsgocoastal  27 дней назад

      Yes, mine has been flickering on and off. I feel like there is not a strong enough signal from the truck even with the stock length. I’m working on a different setup with a powered camera.

    Just purchased this kit for my ram. What hardware did you use to fasten the camera bracket to the trailer? Self tappers?

    • @gaffordsgocoastal
      @gaffordsgocoastal  2 месяца назад

      @@mattyice55 Yes. So mine was pre wired for a Furion but the holes did not line up so I used some silicone in the old holes and covered them with the new bracket and self tapping screws.

    Thank you for this! I've had my 22 3500 for a bit over a year, and my 5th wheel since January. I've been struggling with how I was going to install the camera, but I couldn't find any good how-to's yet, and I really didn't want to run the wire across the roof. I'm also sick of staring at the front cap of the trailer while traveling haha. 🤘🏼

    Thanks for the video! I have a 2022 3500 dually with the same set up. I’m not crazy about the wire - I have a wireless camera, but I love the integration into the mirror and the ability to get rid of another screen. Are yoy happy with the camera? What kind of visibility does it give you with rear traffic? I have everything ready to install - I bought an extension to the cable just in case. Is there anything you can pass along? I’ll be installing on my 2023 Grand Design Reflection 370FLS fifth wheel, it’s 41ft.

      I really love the view from the trailer but I am having a problem with it loosing connection. I believe the problem is the extension I used is not a big enough gauge cable. I have since found a better extension where I’m going to extend the front of the cable with the larger one. I am going to do an update video as well when we get a chance.

      Do you have a link to the new cable? I actually ordered the one you recommended today.

      @@Griffshawn1 Here is a link to the new cable I got for the front. If the link doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll add it to the description.

      @@gaffordsgocoastalawesome - that’s actually the one I ordered as well. I’ll be installing mine next week. Just trying to figure out my approach. I’m thinking of running the wire on the top of my fifth wheel, under the gutter that runs the length of the RV, and then coming down with the molding.

      @@Griffshawn1 Good. I thought about that as well but went underneath because it looked easier to attach. Also trying to get it to the roof. Maybe going up through the wall.

    Thanks for this. This is the first video I've found of the RAM RV camera install on the camper. I have a RAM 2500 with the camera setup in the tailgate bumper like yours. I have a 35' grand design reflection and am currently using the Lippert wireless camera that came with it. My gripe is there is often some lag time while cruising at 60 mph on the interstate. A truck or car will appear like it is behind me and then all of a sudden the video fast forwards and the truck is right on my side blind spot. It's really frustrating, so I was hoping the wired version would eliminate the lag. I would have liked to see more on how you wired it up in the back, I assume the wire you ran is just the signal? Or is that power also? I thought I heard you say you planned on using the existing power wire in the RV to power the Ram camera. Was it plug and play or did you need to snip off the connector and re-install the proper connector to fit the camera? Thanks.

      @gaffordsgocoastal  Месяц назад

      Hey sorry just saw your comment. But I ran the wire up the side but it is a signal only. I am currently working on an issue with my trailer being 45 foot the camera is loosing signal because of the added 15ft cable. With yours being 35ft you probably wouldn’t need to add an extra cable. I am also looking at another option for my setup that uses a powered camera.

    Also, just noting for others that the part number he has worked perfectly on my 22 ram 3500 limited with existing camera plug. Super clear and auto tilts down when u hit reverse

    Does it use this as the backup camera when in reverse on the Uconnect screen?

    • @gaffordsgocoastal
      @gaffordsgocoastal  10 месяцев назад

      No when it’s connected it is always on the rearview mirror. When you put the truck in reverse the camera does angle down but your reverse camera on the tailgate is the one that shows up on the Uconnect screen.

      @@gaffordsgocoastal Appreciate the reply. Do you think its worth buying for $500? I have a 2022 with DRVM but didn't get the camera with the truck.

      @@Christofo. Honestly if it didn't come with the truck I would say no. It is nice and works good but I feel there are wireless options for the same price point that would be better options.
