Cheap poles have the ability to put in work though, that's for sure. Been using a Daiwa D-Wave 10' Rod that came as a rod/reel combo from costco for like $40. Reel was junk and broke fast but I just paired it with a Penn Battle 2 6000 loaded with 65lbtest powerpro. in the last couple years I landed everything from ta'ape, to'au, omilu and white papios, o'io, moi, mu (just caught one 4lber friday night), and too much puhi to count. Still waiting for the ulua on the spinner though 🤞
