Just curious, this seems straightforward yet many videos show unsoldering bios chip, reprogram and resolder. Why does this work without the reprogram of bios?
I think that is only necessary if the BIOS (this is not the same as CMOS/Setup) has been corrupted, OR instead of having CMOS you have NVME. If you just have fouled the CMOS data to a state where the computer can no longer boot, it is usually enough to "air out" the CMOS battery.

hi, thanks, I have a hp elitebook, 2170p. and I removed the coin cell battery, to reset the Bios, but, didn´t work, when I try to enter Boot it still asks me for the password, any help, please
If removing the CMOS battery didn't clear the BIOS password, it’s likely that the password is stored in non-volatile memory that isn't affected by removing the battery, in that case check your motherboard for a jumper labeled 'CLR_CMOS'. Moving this jumper to the "clear" position can reset the BIOS settings, including passwords.
