The best 27 mins of my Self-Quarantine yet! :)
Yeah, going to be a long year I suspect but videos like this will really help with not only reducing any possible boredom and help with our mental health.
You too buddy?
I have a Bachelor of Fine Art degree, but I haven't touched a brush in about 3 decades- I've been working entirely in 3d. My son got into Warhammer, so now I am learning to paint the figures, and you have inspired me to pull out the brushes and get back into traditional art. Thank you, your work is amazing.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
That octopus on his shield = excellent !
I just want to say something nice. You have a real honest passion for this and it shows. Keep going mate you're killing it and having a blast in the process.
I can't stop watching these videos!
Outstanding presentation, demonstration, instruction skills. Clear, a lot of work goes into the narration, I can tell. And then there's the technique in this episode: I'm dedicated to learning how to paint miniatures, been working on it for one year. This technique brings the non-commercial (non-brand constrained) and art-based approach I'm looking for but not at a level that's beyond even a hardworking student (dividing the face of a 28mm miniature into a dozen zones and shades, for example). I enjoy your style and learn from your content, thank you Marco!
Thanks a million man 😁!!! Super appreciated!!!
In my opinion the best instructive painter on you Tube.
Vederti dipingere è molto più divertente di quando lo facevo io !
Great video as always. Thank you for explaining that wash, glaze and filter are techniques and not products. More painters should realize this
Those skin tones are unbelievable Marco. Thank you for this incredible tutorial.
"Brush only"
Me: "my prayers has been answered"
@@zogwort1522 Could easily use spray can for what he did though, it wasn't airbrush transitions or gradients etc
The shields were the best part! Great video.
Hey Marco, I just wanted to comment and say that I hope you, your family, and friends are doing well. Best wishes. Love what you do!
The God of painting and pasta is back 😊😊😊😊❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩✌️
😁😍😁😍😁
I feel like I always learn SO much from your videos, and then when I sit down to paint my brain turns to mush and I cannot put knowledge to practice! Anywho, thank you for doing what you do, and I hope you and your family is safe during these dark times.
I love these generally but particularly love the personalised shields.
At the end of the video I realized that that there was no music in the background. I actuality really liked that, since it give more of a chill vibe, which I am looking for when putting time in my hobby (including watching your video's!).
Damn son. You always make it all look so easy! The way you create colours on the palette speaks of years of dedication to art, and is wonderful to watch.
That skin tone for the headtaker would be great for pale orcs!
😍😍😘 Thanks a million man!!!
Just amazing Marco, just shows that you don't have to have an airbrush. 😀🇬🇧😷👍
Every time you use oil paint, in my head I've a little voice who said : "Annnd...this is where the magic works !". As always Marco, great video ! These are my sunshine when friday is grey :P
Keep safe, you and your family on these troubled days !
Thanks a million buddy 😍!!!
And thanks for the kind thought 😊 Same for you and your loved ones 😘
Amazing as always. Seriously one of the best you tubers out there when it comes to Miniature painting and tutorials. Your knowledge on the topic is so vast and deep that i may as well be hearing it in your native tongue. At least then i can understand and speak Italian while still being a bad painter.
Thanks a million man!!! Super appreciated 😊
😂😂😂 Double tutorial, learn Italian/painting!!! This is the future!!!
I love it when I see "brush only" tutorials. And this is now perhaps one of the best out there. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Very cool as always Marco!
They look amazing. Great tutorial Marco! Stay safe! I wish you and your loved ones good health!
Il tuo buon umore e' contagioso ed i tuoi video sono un piacere per gli occhi. Davvero bravissimo. Grazie ai tuoi video ho migliorato tantissimo la mia tecnica di pittura.
😁😁😁😁😁😁
Piranha Shield is a great idea and nicely executed.
you made the freehand seem soooooooo easy!
Freehand advice is amazing, thank you!
Amazing work. And I'm super happy you showed us a brush only technique~! :D ty good sir!
My wife likes the way you say "Magenta" 👌🏻
😂😂😂
Awesome stuf! Stared a ultramarine 40k army becuse of you space marine painting a cuple of week ago!
Marco, great video and as usual a great job!! Soon I can join you and the community... I can't wait! I'm sure you can obtain these results even if you paint with a potato or a carrot....GRANDISSIMO!!!
Hahahah thanks a million man!!! And this is a challenge that deserves a video 😁
Great stuff Marco. I feel like every time I break out my wet pallete the final paint job is something I'm really proud of.
Marco! This is really Awesome! I really love the shades you gave on green skin with purple hues for example! Great result in 7 hours! This is really what people need to be able to paint successfully in a short time without having to possess high technique! Great!
😍😁😍😁😍 Thanks a million man 😉😘
Marco, you are awesome man! Any chance you could do one of your short videos going over what your spraying area looks like or what your setup is (spray booth etc.)?
Thanks a million!!! I'll do a live streaming tomorrow and we can talk about everything 😉😊😉 (if the baby doesn't arrive in that moment 😅)
Amazing video, Marco, thank you. It baffles me how you choose which method to go with for which project even though you do explain your reasons as much as you can. Great work!
Thanks!!! Don't worry, most of the times I choose a way or another just because I can or I'm bored/I'm having fun 😅😅😅
Im a simple man. I see a Marco video, I watch, hit like & make a comment about being a simple man.
Awesome as ever Marco
WONDERFUL WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate you with all my heart. Hahahahaha you make it to look to easy ... love your videos. Hope some day I paint something like that.
Marco you are one of the few, REALLY a few that can say "I'll be lazy for this one" and pull off such incredible content in 7-8 hrs , with a brush!!!
Altought I honestly start to be a bit confused about what it the difference between wash, glaze, oil and contrast paint. Are you planning to enlighten noobs such me in the future 😅?
Awesome as always. What about another Necromunda gang in the same speed paint style 😉
Your videos are such a joy to watch. I love the teaching, the outcomes, and the enthusiasm.
Nice work as always Marco!
Sei il migliore Marco! Bravissimo come sempre!!
Another great video. Beautiful.work as always. Thank you
This was amazing. The quality, content and just knowing what to say to help miniture painters learn more! Thank you!
bloody Impressive stuff!!!
Men, you are a force of nature with pencils!
Dam, you're so good. I am over here can't decide what colors to paint my eldar heavy weapons
Yo! Love that oldhammer demon face sheild!
Beautiful work! I’m stuck at home...I needed this.
Fabulous work as always, Marco. You inspire me to go way outside my comfort zone and it has been amazingly rewarding.
awesome painting technique,very inspirational!
Amazing result! Especially the freehand! Can't wait for a whole video on that topic.
When you said freehand it is "secretly easy" I started laughing because it reminded me of Kenny Boucher from Next Level Painting :D :D :D
Wow never seen anything like this before, sei un animale! Grandissimo
Really loved this video, another home run! Would love to see your take on an Asian-themed mini, especially your approach to the skin tone.
That Evil Sun shield looks fantastic, amazing seeing how the simple steps come together and produce such a high quality finish.
Incredible!!! I really learn a lot with your videos
As always I enjoy your videos and I always can get some useful information out of it. This video is no exeption.
Keep up the good work and stay healthy 👍
Really great video... love the use of ‘washes’ very simple and effective, well that’s how you make it look 😉. Looking forward to try it out...
Just wow! Incredible quality in such a short time. And these shields!!!
Love your job, and your color scheme !!
these look absolutely amazing! thanks for sharing
this is an absolutely great tutorial... one of the best
Awesome work. I really like the idea of using an airbrush to create a greyscale effect and then using translucent colours over it. I can't wait to give it a try! 5*
It never fails to impress me how well you mix and choose your colours, especially for skin tones - a real artist for sure. :)
Marco, so inspiring. I've just started back in the hobby and find I am getting a feel for painting all over again. It's a long way ahead. :-)
Thanks!!! 😍😍😍 I'm so happy for this flow of inspiration 😁😁😁
Binge watched your backlog, amazing work, you got a new patron!
Another "Monsterclass" you are the best, I feel envy of you man (sane envy... and insane too :))
Great guide, thx 4 job !
Great work Marco! Very inspiring and educational to watch.
Hey Marco, I would LOVE to see your approach to some Aeldari or Drukhari models. It's the all-armoured aspect of Space Marines, but without all the bulky volumes that help make the paint job interesting. That's why I keep struggling with them.
Magnificent!!
So cool! Would love to see you paint one model more detailed than speed painting though!
E' sempre un piacere vederti dipingere ed ottenere bei risultati con "minimal effort"! XD
😁😁😁😘
Thank you for doing brush only.
Great stuff, I feel like a learn a ton every time I watch one of your videos!
Brilliant as always! Wonderful stuff.
Stay safe my friend. I think you are Italian I'm probably wrong, hope you and your family are safe!
Yeah I live in Ireland but I'm Italian 😊 Thanks for the kind thought 😊 Take care buddy!
Pretty new to the channel; so far I reckon I have learned sooooooo much from you mate, thank you truly. Also I'd love to see more 'brush only' type videos.
Woah, I learned a lot in this video, a lot... subscribed
Thanks a million buddy!!!
great as always!!
Great tips as usual Marco. Looking forward to trying this out on my skin tones.
Very nice love the shields would love to see some Hoplites like that.
what an amazingly inspirational video, thanks a ton mate. youve set off a whole series of ideas and theories in my head that i cant wait to try out. the way you are painting is how i paint on canvas to some extent, glazing with completely different colours to the 'base' colour build up a real complexity of tones that also unifies different elements when you start glazing a really small amount of purple into the skin here and then the same purple onto the jacket there, maybe a touch of it on the boots. why am i not doing that more on my minis? i need to step up my game.
Thank you Marco! I always learn something new with your videos! Hey you probably already know this, but Wicked Colors 4012 works great with acrylics to dramatically lower surface tension, I've been using a mix of medium, water and 4012 in this way to great effect.
Thanks to you! No, I didn't know it, now I'm curious to make experiments 😁😁😁
looking at your videos i only have one word in mind ''ridiculous'' and not in a bad way.
the word is full of jealousy hahahahaha.
i can only hope to get to this standard at some point, also thanks for all the tip i could get watching your vids, especially for inks
I really like the difference in skin tones, bit of diversity in the world :)
Bravo Maestro :)
😊😁😊😘
Great video
You make it look so easy :D love it. Gonna try to have a spin on that with some power armor.
This warband looks like a Brom painting straight out of the old Dark Sun rule books.
😍😍😍 You got me!! I have a huge folder of Brom's artworks for reference 😉😉😉
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM you certainly have impeccable taste, sir.
Inspiring. I should probably pick up some glaze medium. I wonder how much of my struggle is with my paints and how much is with skill. (It's mostly in my skill). Keep posting all the great inspirational and educational material! Can't imagine my best work looking as good as your speed paints.
Thanks! Don't worry the perfect paint doesn't exist 😉 You need jist to find something you like and works for your way of painting
Genius
You made that free hand look so easy! The shields look incredible, my favourite being the octopus. I was really impressed with how the washes came out, when you started I thought the opacity was going to look way off but they've finished looking superb. Is that because of the final "filter" that you do? Next time I do pox walkers i'm going to use this method.
Thanks!!! The final oil wash helps more for the dark definition, the opacity is built more through the layering of several overlapped washes 😉
i would really like to see some Star wars legion minis from you. With the airbrush or without, dosnt matter to me. maybe some rebels and some storm troopers :D the legion minis are quite simple compared to the things you usually paint and that is the reason why i would like to see some from you. the usual legion painters on youtube do a basic paint job and throw some wash on. i hope you could come around and try that when you have the time!
Fantastic work as usual... One step of your workflow which I simply cannot make it work well is the oil wash part. When dry my minis always look dirty and sandy and I can see a runny streak of small dots. I believe it is because I am not removing the excess with the q-tip, but that is the other challenge... I always feel I remove too much (almost everything) when using the q-tips, even if applied very softly, these minis are so small that I find difficult to remove the oil wash from the surface without removing also from the crevices... :-(
Thanks a million!
You have that kind of effect of you put too much white spirit in the mix cleaning all the oil and leaving the pigments free to dry as a fine dust 😉. Try to clean when the oils are dry to the touch, this helps to regulate better the quantity you are taking off the model
It makes me sad watching this knowing I'll never have the same grasp of colour theory , or anywhere near Marco's ability. Top notch stuff again Marco.
Spend some time learning about it, and don't be afraid to screw up whilst applying it... There's a lot of free information available, and experience is a great way to learn a new skill. Just inform yourself, and then start diving into a few projects.
Why do you think that? The only way of not getting there is saying that about yourself! As amazing as Marco is (and he is... very much so), color theory is something that is absolutely learnable! Get the James Gurney book, check out the website Huevaluechroma.com after that for a more hardcore aproach. Of course, paint as much as you can while learning. And never forget rule number 1: 90% of getting the color right is actually value distribution and contrast:). Good luck!
@@mtgskunkworx1671 thanks dude, you're never too old to learn 👍.
@@borna1231 thanks for the tips, being old (51) should not stop me trying.
Totally agree with the friends up here! It's really something quite intuitive with a ton of different sources to learn from 😉 It's just a matter of time and practice 😉
hey how about: every 1 or 2 Days a super short Clip about colour for
Marmor or rost, moss super old Ruin parts, Figures the spezial parts
Horn; Bones; Fur or skin: death, in the desert or winter or Monster waht
