  • How to tie a ridgeline! Ridgelines, clotheslines, or any horizontal line are some of the most common and useful uses of rope around the campsite. When making a good ridgeline or clothesline many campers run into a couple of problems. They can’t get the ridgeline high enough or they can’t get to rope tight enough. In this video we provide solutions to both of those problems. Using the techniques in this video you will be able to tie a tight and high enough horizontal line that will be the starting point for many shelters, sunshades, and clotheslines.

    Pretty slick. In the climbing arborist world we would call that last one a tautline on a bight. Also, that first Alpine Butterfly we use a Running Bowline in similar way as a SRT tie in on some occasions.
