    Love the vids kevin, ran nitro for years, switched in 2009 to electro, biggest tip for nitro: grab a torch and heat the cilinderhead for 10sec, then wait 1min and it will start first pull.. cilinder and piston are conical, they dont have pistonrings, preheating wil make the perfect gap between piston and cilinder.

  • @snakeNP215
    @snakeNP215 3 года назад

    As a rule of thumb, if it ain't smoking it's too lean n that high needle needs to b opened up a bit. When you give it throttle and it does that choking/bogging thing like it did at 11:19 and at 12:09 it means that low speed needle needs to be backed out a bit, but only tune the low speed needle once the high speed needle has been set n has a nice trail of smoke, without that smoke you will just fry the engine

    I miss my Nitros from a year back. Listening to the sound of the engine and the smell of burnt fuel. I Don't miss all the problems trying to keep it running at times. ☁ s coming over pressure changes and doesn't want to run. Breaking in the engine got a little boring.
    Electric cars and trucks are taking over as you know. A lot less problem free and they really are Ready to run without all the problems that fuel has.
    If they could just install engine sounds and mimic fuel burn off they'd be complete.
    Good video, Sir Kevin!

      I've found the TSM on Traxxas nitros to be a pain. My brother has the T-Maxx 2.5 and I've got the Revo 3.3 and we both had nothing but problems with the TSM. Not sure if it's just the vibrations from the engine or the heat that is the culprit but I purchased a Spektrum radio and receiver that I'm going to try in it. I've had the Spektrum for about 5 months now and have been busy with my other RCs and my new boat to install it. I have read reviews that Futaba is better but I like the feel of the Spektrum.

    Stemps radio for the 1:16th scale nitro stadium truck seems like it's on it's way out, it should not do that if he turns the radio around or shake it lightly that's for sure...
    Also should be a way so you can set the direction the servo is supposed too pull on the failsafe i believe.
    otherwise he might be able too just turn the servo around in the car & reverse the channel on the radio then the fail safe should pull the brake instead.

    Kev, the hobao is still running too rich, adjusting HSN will increase acceleration and top speed, but you may need to adjust gear shift point in the gear box
    Stempy, on the jackhammer, your idle speed is too high, and your LSN needs adjusting,8th of a turn one way or the other, the current bad setting on your LSN could be the reason you have to have it idle so high

    Cox cars n planes were the best. Fill with fuel put battery connection on top of motor head and crank. Never disappointed with a Cox product

    Nitro r/c's are cool, but for me personally, too much maintenance... or wrenching, as you guys say! Thanks for sharing Kev, love your channel.

    This truck is the best. I have one too. Best 1/8 nitro mt by far. Way better and more durable than the savage and very easy to work on. Btw your low end needle are very very lean. Please richen it.

    When I use to work in a hobby store the main comment was its a expensive hobby. They weren't complaining just making a statement. The vehicle price wasn't a issue but the repair parts were very expensive, but it didn't matter because they had a lot of fun causing the issue.

    Great vid. I'm toying with the idea of getting into RC and can't decide nitro or battery. Also want to build from scratch so I can learn about RC. New sub ;)
