    Thank you for the shout-out Walter! That was an incredibly fun and exciting site visit! My wife and I are taking a road trip with some friends to Arlington, TX mid-February for a college baseball event and the Buc-ee’s in Melissa, TX is on the itinerary for a charging stop (by passenger demand, as one may expect) so I expect to do a site visit there along with the road trip video! It’s so exciting, relieving, and refreshing that MB will be a consistent part of road trips, along with PFJ and Tesla, across the south! Francis Energy Stress Disorder will NOT be apart of my travels! 😂

      Their drink station alone is worth the stop. Man, they know how to coax folks. I am a big time fan of Buc-ee's stops. If I am in your back seat, I am flipping at you ear lobe too till you cry uncle and pull in. Thx for the cool site visit and safe travels next month. Love the channel content you put out.

    My daughter recharged her new (used) Ioniq 5 at one of these sites in Temple, TX, over New Years and was really impressed. She was delighted to discover how quickly her EV was capable of charging at a truly high-powered site like these. Yay!

    Walter. Great update with Mercedes Benz.

    Thanks Walter. I really enjoy these updates. I used the MB Charger in Warner Robins GA recently. Blazing fast and easy to use. (ChargePoint 400 kW). My second time at a Bucee’s and I’m just put off, even though I love the chargers. Bucee’s parking lot, convenience store and restroom LINES were just pure CHAOS. I think something the size of Sheetz or PFJ is much easier to navigate. (Meaning the time saved by the charger speed and reliability, was completely offset by the delay in the traffic jam and time to walk 1/2 mile past 50 gas pumps to get to the bathroom and stand in line.). MB Chargers are very impressive, their choice of Bucee’s is not for me if I have other nearby options. My 2 cents. Thanks again for the progress update. I look forward to the non-Bucee’s MB locations.

      I agree there are diminishing returns with c-store size that Buc-ee's seems to be butting up against. The stall counts of MB though is hard to argue against. They are really good charging stations close to interstate exits, even if you don't go into the store. I personally like the ant hill vibe. To me, it is a bit comical and an enjoyable diversion to the highway hypnosis that makes up the rest of the trips. Glad your vac was enjoyable and safe.

      @ ha! “Ant hill” is exactly the right analogy. And I’m a “hard no” on ant hills. Maybe a slow Tuesday at 2pm would be tolerable. In my ICE days, I was a QuikTrip or RaceTrac guy. Those sizes are just perfect to me.

    It’s really cool seeing these MB station pips on a map! I had no idea there were so many. Those of us out west are completely ignorant about the amazing proliferation of quality charging stations since we don’t really have anything like that here.

    MB, IONNA, and BP pulse all first out of the gate delivering J3400 handles at full voltage... think it will be any kind of competitive advantage?

    • @thenetworkarchitectchannel
      @thenetworkarchitectchannel  7 часов назад +1

      as the yr goes on and more OEM models can charge w/o adapters on J3400 yes. Also, I see many Tesla owners favoring these stations. The iONNA event had the largest showing from Tesla owners. Prob because of the good locations and faster speeds. CT in particular I imagine like the longer cables.

    HNY! Wharton, TX is showing as open in the CP app. I’ll stop there tomorrow to confirm. Katy, TX is under construction, but just early site prep.

      Thx & u r right. It was not in PS and normally, they are good about adding a PS station when they open one. I should of xross checked CP app b4 doing this, but it did show up in this morning's AFDC update. Thx for letting us know bout Katy. Will add that one too to the next one. Drive safe my friend. Weather is turning bad.

    Walter, I’m sure you heard the news about the Supercharger network being opened up to MB and VW. Do you see this impacting each of these companies’ commitment to their own networks?

    • @anthonyc8499
      @anthonyc8499 18 часов назад +2

      I’m not Walter, but I think MB’s charging network project is completely independent of Tesla’s plans. Two immediate reasons come to mind. First, it’s foolish to put the viability of your product line into Musk’s hands. Secondly, MB wants a more premium experience for their owners than what Tesla offers.

    • @thenetworkarchitectchannel
      @thenetworkarchitectchannel  7 часов назад

      I do not. The OEMs are all taking independent and collective multi prong approaches to solving this issue. The MB HPC network is a solo effort by MB USA and MB Global. This is in addition to TesSC access and in addition to iONNA. Good question.

    Curious if all the superchargers that California lost with these fires, Tesla might have to slow down the rest of the country ..

      I don't really watch the news, but saw something bout fires in CA. Hope all are safe. Rough go sounds like.
