Of course, Jill Biden walked it back, she should have known better. And even now after Clark has came out to say she didn't have a problem with what Reese did, we still have people (adults supposedly) degrading this young woman, calling her a "hood rat" and "classless" as if they have the right to set the standard to who she is. I didn't hear not one person chastise Clark for her antics, nobody was telling her to be humble or don't be arrogant or she shouldn't showboat because guess what, it gets settled on the court always has always will. Her character was never brought into question, although telling someone to shut up when you're up by 15 doesn't look all that classy or an example of sportsmanship. I've seen such hypocritical statements, something I learned early, don't throw stones if you're living in a glass house.

I'm glad these young women aren't having it. And we need to be able to stop giving these fools the fuel for a fire their trying to keep from dying out. Clark just set a record for the most points by a woman in a tourney run. MAYBE, she was trying to use this momentum to build bridges. Maybe it would e been a dope moment for women’s sports. Except Angel plays a team sport, and What she did was not competitive but petty and personal. You reaching by trying to put her in the same class with the others. The others rose above the hate with maturity and let others praise them. Angel was immature and disrespectful after the game was pretty much done. Then she doubled down on the division by going after Jhill Biden, bringing the Obama’s into it, and speaking for her whole team. That wasn’t very smart. There’s a reason Obama, who is very socially conscious/ active. Gave her a basic tweet. To which she then responded with “I love my President”. Yeah… Biden is a democrat and was Obama’s VP for 8 yrs. Smh. I get it, she’s young and has all this clout right now. But let’s not put her up on that “barrier beaker” pedal stool yet.

Intentional taunting is not good for college basketball, and it will help to destroy the integrity of the sport in the long run. It's poor sportsmanship, and college basketball is supposed to foster good sportsmanship. People on Twitter and social media were blasting the horrible refereeing. The technical on Caitlyn was the worst call I've ever seen in a college game. See a video. The refs called this technical on Clark, but let Coach Mulkey run on the court and even tug on the shirt of a referee (a technical foul - see video). Mulkey was on the court most of the game. No technical. A Division 1 championship game deserves the best referees. The refs were a disgrace. This level of horrible refereeing would not be acceptable in a men's game.

what wildly dishonest reporting... people can feel however they want but that's straight up dishonest reporting.
lol, anyone being remotely honest here? .. LOL, suppose the inverse.
    A. Reese (black) does it during the 3q of an earlier game back to another black player who has been talking at her.
    B. Then Clark (white) when the game is functionally over chases her around the court to do it to her.
    C. Also skips the handshake line (people don't mention that part).
    D. Then says I did this for the people that look like me.
ha, people would lose their minds.
LSU won and Reese can do whatever she wants. You want to say Clark talks trash so she brought it on herself, cool...
But unclear why people can't people say chasing someone around to taunt them at the end of the game is poor sportsmanship? Literally the best WNBA player of the current generation said as much on the Bird- Taurasi commentary channel on ESPN 2. The first time Reese does it with 50 seconds left they say why not LSU won the game. When Reese comes back to chase Clark around the court at the end. Diana Taurasi (probably the best women's player of this generation) says "Ok, you did it once... that's going overboard". Now that's probably all that needed to be said, that was too much and then move on.
-- miss me with that Clark did it during an earlier game to a different opponent. Doing something back during the game to hailey van lith who was talking the whole game is just flat different than chasing someone around at the end of the national championship game.
Reese is a self promoter who wanted the attention, that's fine. Her explanation is all over the place. one place, we were disrespected but another place no problem with Clark. It's just about her and that's fine. Kinda a Connor McGregor type thing. 100% fine
She wants to do it sure go for it, probably even be a good move in terms of self promotion (she's going to make bank on NIL) but all this faux outrage over a "double standard" is ridiculous.
    Separate from the thing itself:
    1. Don't agree with the people insulting Reese, etc. She's a 20 year who just won the championship, this is probably on her coach. Passionate players often go over the line and it's on the coach to give them guidance.
    2. 100% agree with Reese about the White House thing, just flat out clown move by Jill Biden. Reese is 100% right to call that out as insulting.

It’s not a race issue. Only Reese followed her opponent to taunt with the gesture. The clips in this video don’t show their actions
in the full context. The criticism of Reese was warranted. She shouldn’t be belittled, of course. Mocking someone while celebrating is fine but going out of your way to confront an opponent is excessive. It was unsportsmanlike but that’s it.

Actually, it says more about race grifters. The two scenarios are not the same. Clark responded to a taunt against her team during a timeout. Angel Reese followed her around the court, called her a hoe, didn't go to the handshake line, then made it a racial issue after the game. If anything, it says more about black America seeing racism everywhere, chasing ghosts.

@@mikerobertson8540 Again, Clark was taunting throughout the season -- you can't then turn around and decide how the opposition should taunt in return.
It has been whites denigrating Reese when she trash talks, (calling her hood, ghetto, thuggish, etc.), and celebrating Clark. So you should be asking yourself why folks didn't go after Clark when she displayed such behavior in the other games. I'm certain we both know why whether you choose to admit it or not. If there was no bias, she too would have been labeled, hood, ghetto, classless, etc. So you tell me where were all the clutch-my-pearls folks???

    • @loriannrichardson7644
      @loriannrichardson7644 Год назад

@@mikerobertson8540 Also, racism is EVERYWHERE; it's the foundation upon which this country was built, it's in the DNA of dAmnerikkka. White folks lose their minds when the scales are even slightly balanced. It's weakened white folks to the point that all of their hopes and dreams could be bound up in something as unimportant as a college basketball game. The hope that they can have just 1 who can be best at a major sport rather than another Black person. The Black team won, and white folks starting losing their sh*t, and displayed more crass and classless behavior than Reese or Clark ever did. Says so much about white America.

When you are doing that up and down the court in somebodies face its a bit different than a one off non directed moment. The LSU player was doing the gesture repeatedly and in a targeted manner which shows poor sportsmanship. This should have disqualified her from the Outstanding player award etc. If the white player is going around targeting other players doing the same she should equally be called out. Every time something like this comes up people love to play the race card. Just because you are black does not mean you can't be criticized. IMO she shadowed her team moment to go out of her way to taunt the other team player. She did it again with the offer to the white house.
