The whole reason Angel Reese did it was because Clark had done it to other players all tournament. She was praised for doing it, Reese was made out to be a horrible person. I watched multiple games in the tournament. Clark did this gesture multiple times and every time announcers and pundits said how great she was and what a tough competitor. Yet when Angel Reese did it, she was considered classless.

He was not telling the story right. Angel Reese is being attacked for making a gesture back at Caitlin Clark that Caitlin Clark has been making to other players all year when her team is beating the other team. When Caitlin Clark was doing that John Cena "you can't see me" wave, everybody was saying she got swag. When Angel Reese did it back to her in the last minute of the championship game, White sports commentators and White fans lost their minds. Calling her out of her name and trying to make her look like a classless, thug bully. It is a racist response by sore losers because their Caitlin Clark---who, by the way, is a very good basketball player---lost the game badly.

@@philb.1502 I understand who Caitlin Clark is. The problem is that there was No Problem when Caitlin Clark was doing it throughout the season and the tournament. It was only a problem when the 'Steph Curry of women's college basketball' and 'the best player in college and a superstar' got beat by 17 in a historic women's college basketball championship by a star in her own right and a double-double machine, Angel Reese,...who then taunted Caitlin back with her own taunts on the grandest stage in women's basketball. Now the taunt was praised when Caitlin did it all throughout, but suddenly attacked and frowned on and the player attacked viciously through social media and sports commentators.... and why? It's deeper than the surface attack for so-called bad sportsmanship.

Why isn't anyone talking about Caitlyn Clark, of Iowa, taunting her opponents all season long with the same gesture? Minus the ring gesture. In return, she was featured in sports segments and presented as the consummate unstoppable competitor. She was described as a warrior and the benchmark to be held in high regard for young athletes, male and female. So when Angel Reese from LSU went out and lead her team to the National Championship against Iowa. Doing so in amazing fashion with unbelievable stats that were consistent with her stats the entire season. Her team and fans have dubbed her the Queen with crown and ceremony. So why is Ms. Reese being called out of her name, being villanized and dragged through the mud because she was giving back to Caitlin just what she had been dishing out to opponents all year? Why do certain people feel the need to come to Caitlin's rescue? More importantly, why hasn't Caitlin, chimed in to not only protect her fellow baller but more importantly reject the unwarranted rescue of a helpless damsel in distress. State clearly: "There is only 1 winner in each contest. This is a competitive sport. This is how we play it. It is hard, and it gets loud, but in the end, we are 1 building a better sport for women. All women." Her silence only hurts the sport. She is allowing the racial division to destroy the purity of the sport and what little bit of remaining social peace. "White women are fragile and need to be saved while Black women are loud, threatening, and dangerous". I know some will say I'm reading a lot into this. I say, I'm just a student of history. Prove it wrong.

The guy brings up good points. But that's not what the controversy is about. Clark has been very unsportsmanlike, name calling, hand gestures, getting in her opponents faces, and it's been praised and tolerated. But Angel did the hand gesture and pointing to her ring figure, and she's deemed uncouth, ghetto, etc. The blatant, racist element of what's going on is what is not tolerated and is at the height of the controversy. No one cares that Clark is an amazing basketball player. She's earned it. But we're asking for fairness. And Jill Biden didn't help at all, which is why Angel should definitely not go to the White House! Let the losers go, whom Jill is more interested in receiving in the first place! Yes, they are slamming Reese because she is a black woman taunting a white woman and that's horrible! We should talk about that. But listen to how he describes the white woman. Calling Clark cutesy and little is a complete misrepresentation meant to put a negative label on her. I think he spoke unconsciously, but this can ONLY rightfully be seen as an attempt to dismiss Clark as a human being. In doing so, he casts her in the role of the naive, powerless and meek white woman.
