I'd like to see a range comparison between a 48t sprocket and a 60t one on roads.

You would get way less range amd you'd have way less top speed. A 16in rear wheel does the same thing

Someone needs to show these guys how to unlock the Talaria.

Nice to see another Utahn! I'm up here in Heber and have been contemplating on buying a new surron. Have you had to get off the bike on steep hills and have to walk it? Or do you think they work good for most the single tracks in AF canyon? I have multiple pedal ebikes and some steep stuff I have to walk the bike up. I want something where i dont have to as much haha

I was up AF this weekend and was highly surprised at how well the bike climbed even on the stock sprocket.

I mean depending on the terrain and what type of ride you're going on there's no reason why you can't have at least two or three sprockets. Thought you can maybe even go to a 46 if you were just going for flat, speed type ride. A 52 for all around and then a 60 for hilly or climbing rides

No one's gonna change sprockets mid ride for different terrain that silly

I had a 58 tooth sprocket and was hitting around 40 mph then I put a 48 tooth on and my top speed was reduced to 35 mph. Anyone no why how how I can fix it. My front sprocket is stock so 14 tooth and was that way for the 58 and 48.

Hey fellas, I got a 60t sprocket! Can I add links to the chain or is it better to get a new chain? Also, what size chain for the 60t?

I put a 54 tooth on my stick bike & it made a big difference, little did I know I could of went with a 58 or 60 tooth . E bikes are different than gas bikes when it comes to gearing. It still. Does 49-50 mph & more torq & im sure better range . & I lost about 1 lb

THAT'S AWESOME! Thanks for posting your experience and results.

You'll lose top speed going to 60 for sure. The only reason you went to 54 and didn't really lose top speed was ciz you also went from the oring chain to a regular chain.

Taalaria doesn't come with a 48 tooth sprocket

MTB riders just need to pull their heads in and accept Surrons, laws aren't changing either us taking over. A trail near me just finished allowing class 2 ebikes (Surrons) with given proof of it being on eco only, but we can just turn it to sport when we get past the check point.
Rumors are going around they are allowing class 2 but seriously, people just ride them there regardless... Buy a surron with a 54t sprocket, you will NEVER look back at an ancient push bike
