Hats off to the owner for knowing his way around all the new tech "stuff". I had heard of such a thing as an Arduino, but it was only just recently that I had heard of "raspberry Pi". I'm so lost. And yes, what a super nice bus.

I'm sure that you probably already know this, but just in case you don't
Make sure that the hoses for the transmission are spec'd High Heat
Regular hydraulic hose will fail due to the high heat produced by the transmission.
I bet that when you take that hose of the trans it will be "Crunchy" as soon as you try to straighten it out it the inside liner will just bust up with a crunching sound.

You have to have a lot of savvy and patience . I really like the auto trans and 6V92 . It just needs a guy like you to keep up with things .

Amazing project. Loove the nerdy touch while retain the analog gauges. I would put both system in parallel so the computer is always checking the critical readings like oil pressure, temperature, air presure etc. I wouldnt replace the analog cluster. Not in a classic. But, definitely take advantage of the technology to take care of my bus

    • @kleetus92

Other than the cool factor, I don't really see the need or advantage of digital gauges. Regular analog, or electric should be fine with the conjunction of a pressure or temperature switch. They're instantaneous, where the digital think about it for a second or two before notification.

Noticed when the system rebooted the torque app went back to the main screen. You can set a guage screen as startup so no need to push anything.
The best part about torque app is also its downfall, lots of settings and adjustments to get it tweaked how you like it.

Sweet drivetrain. The “fiddly bits” gadgetry is great fun, if only one were not driving at the same time! This bus is prettier on the inside (a smidge) than “Melissa” (my pet name for the Montana 4106) but much prefer her “stealth” look of a classic passenger coach.

Very nice clean bus, looks heavily modded on the outside as well as inside. Quick question, doesn't the steering box in the bus have a slack adjustment on the worm gear, or is it already at full adjustment and can't be tightened up anymore?

Hi Scott, thanks for yet another interesting video. To echo the many comments here, what a lovely bus, even nicer in some ways than the last one, although I must admit that all the digital tech talk in the video and in the comments went way over my head. I guess it's an age thing. That underfloor sleeping pod quite literally made my skin crawl, that for me would be unbearably claustrophobic. Crawling into that would for me be a horror story made real. Each to their own I guess. Best regards from the UK.

Hope Kelly is taking some stills of your travels for posterity, maybe loading them to an external hard drive.
With very little safety experience, it would concern me about all of the squared edges visible in the buses. One slip and fall into one of those square edges would be quite painful to the body part or possibly catastrophic to the head upon contact.

The onboard wifi is like the picocell we made for airliners when I worked at XXX. Cell systems are aimed at the ground and airliners are aluminum tubes, so the picocell picks up a ground-based signal and rebroadcasts inside the airplane. These came out after 2005, so Barbara Olson's "arabs with boxcutters" cell call to Ted never happened....

Dumb question for ya, in my younger days, a friend showed me on a GM steering box a kinda set screw that runs against the worm gear, and we tightened a bit, and it took up the free play. I imagine you can only do this a little bit before something else craps out. But is that a viable option?
