- Well I had no choice in this video but to put my dignity to one side and help the big canal fish on the end of my line. The aim of the game this session was to target some of the bigger fish in an urban section of canal using stalking methods and floating bread. The session was going well with some nice fish put on the bank, but things took a turn when the biggest fish of the session got trapped.

I have told stories before of the hard fights had with Carp but never had to jump in a canal to get one out! Top man for getting a soaking on account of fish welfare.
Fish with rappala or yo zuri lures, if your a tight arse like me, you always in the water unsnagging them lol

Once again it's hats off to you mate for going the extra mile for your love of fishing and for the fish themselves. I am certain that not every angler would strip off to their boxer shorts to rescue a carp caught in brambles. Nice one pal. I also think you are very lucky to fish waters that don't seem to have any ducks. As soon as I get bread out as a bait, you can bet that in no time at all I will be surrounded by ducks. ducks can be annoying, they take the bread even though it's unhealthy for them. what i usually do, is to put a sinker on the line, and bait the hook with the crust which is buoyant. ducks rarely notice, but fish will take it. it's not as exciting, as the topwater method, but works in duck infested waters.
@@fokmertek urban myth bread is fine for ducks and in some areas - ducks have been struggling through lack of food as bread had become a staple and missreporting meant people stopped feeding them
Thanks mate! I just fish the areas without ducks. There's bloody loads round here I had to give a pass to at least two swims due to duck swarms while filming this video

Done exact same thing no matter how big or small our fish are they need looked after. Hand on heart I’d rather catch beautiful pristine carp like that from wild water than a 30lber from muddy commercial. I have no issues with commercial fishery’s we all need an easy day and saying that some commercial waters can be tricky but freelined piece bread or lobworm when stalked a fish in river or canal can’t beat it

I did use same method to fish for carp on small Loch at my home back in Czech. And also I had to get in to the water to free off snagged carp. But it was in summer time so water was fine😃 But there isn’t many fishermen who would go in water to free of fish from snag. I know only one man and now you😃 Well done man! I keep all y landing net handles and poles etc upright in a plastic flip top bin minus the lid. Stands in the corner of the shed out the way and stuff doesn't get broken, great video as always bud
