The Mystery of Borehole H8 - Did it Lead to the Original Money Pit?

- I do believe it is possible. Back in Season 5 of The Curse of Oak Island, the team put in Borehole H8. This was during a 40 hole Geo-Tech Program. The Oak Island team not only found many of the same discoveries in H8 as William Chappell did in 1897, they also felt they pushed the Chappell Vault down and out of reach from the 60" Caisson.
In this video I take a look at how I believe H8 was important back in 2017 and may be more important today.

Thanks for the help visualizing all this! The show has gone on for so many seasons with so many episodes, it's very difficult to keep track of everything that's been discovered and mentioned over the years. I would love to have the behind the scenes knowledge on why they chose to stop pursuing H8, C1 and 10-X. Those three produced some of the most interesting discoveries made on the island and they do really seem like they're very close to or directly linked to what may actually be the treasure cache, if it exists.

Hi, Jeff: I had to repond to this.Thanks for doing it, not only for making sense of the various sites around the Garden shaft, but to help us fathom what happened in the recent past with H8, C1, and 10x.The overlays you made show us the amazing possibilities of interconnections deep underground.These sites can no longer be ignored, and therefore must be worked on again!

That's a very clear explanation, thank you. I keep thinking about Samuel Ball, if he found some of the treasure, he did not have a large shaft, it would have been seen. He must have found a shallow tunnel or an entrance, the hatch. Also the depositors were constructing tunnels to the void, so they didn't dig a shaft either. I think finding that entrance would be an easier way into the void.
Yes I believe there is or was a better entrance into the voids in the Money Pit. I fear that any on the eastern drumlin have been destroyed by attempts to close off what they thought were flood tunnels.

Thanks for going back and reviewing this. I have continued to wonder about H8 and the collapse that happened in-between the 2 large caissons. I wondered if the collapse was actually the treasure chamber, but they never pulled back and looked down the H8 caisson shaft at the void it encountered when drilling. I would further like to see an underground map of all the tunnels they encountered during the drilling program and try to connect the dots as to where the tunnels were going and how they line up with other underground maps and discoveries.
Yes I would as well if they have such a map. This is why I am always looking at other data to show these tunnels. Data like the Muon and Seismic. We need to get the Lunasonde electronics deployed as well to see what it reveals.

If you look closely at the various points you can easily visualize what could be a spiral staircase. I think it was Gary who saw stairs in a hole a couple years ago
ah I didn't know that. Do you remember about when he said that?
Questions;
1. Have they located more than one flood tunnel and if so have they blocked it? I would envision pouring gravel down and then pressure grouting it to seal. All work should stop till they have done a GPR search all around the island at the beach line and checked for tunnels. Not expensive or too time consuming.
2. Have they explored "the hole under the hatch" area thoroughly. And is it perhaps in line with an extension of the known shaft alighnment of the tunnel that passes the Garden Shaft?
I believe the original money pit shaft was used to deposit treasure and as an air shaft but later access was designed to be from an easier concealed shallow access on the other side of the island. If you bury something, you are planning to come back for it or add to it and need to do so easily and quickly.
Then the "money pit" shaft was set up as a booby trapped decoy (hence the 90ft stone, layers of logs, and I think I read, a ships block was originally found over the shaft in an Oak tree?
What I think they didn't realize is the booby trap would flood the actual treasure tunnels!
They believe, and so do I, that with all the blasting and digging that there is no way to close off the flood tunnel(s) now.
That's why I would try to block them at the shore end, where not so much digging has been done and they might be easier to block.@@Jfree906

I agree but maybe they have kept it in mind as they work to get underground in the Money Pit.

I think it is connected to the same "natural?" tunnel system underground as the voids in the Money Pit. I have a podcast coming on the 15th of Feb with Panther Geoscience's Jeremy Church. He will give us more details on this.

Pretty good bet that there is no treasure down in 10X however, one of the tunnels that I believe lead out of 10X may lead to where it is.
They keep saying according to ledgin one more must die do you think that is true or is this click bait to keep you on edge wondering who is it going to be I still say Alex and Craig tester need to go they just copy what the other guys say
No one knows who or just when this curse thing started. It wasn't from the History Channel or the production company Prometheus. It started long before they were involved. I do know that they continue to say it to get folks to watch so.. Watchbate? I wish they would stop. It is simply nonsense and the folks on the island do not like it either.
