If fan channels were around then, I don't think we would have won what we won. Lets try to be as positive as we can, get behind the team and the manager. Watching the old games there were alot of one touch pass and move. Alot of crosses coming in. Everytime 4 or 5 players in or around the box when the wingers had the ball. Keane would let a player go bcos he knew behind him they would pick them up, they didn't need to be told. Cole would drop when we didnt have the ball making a 5 man midfield. We had wide players on the touchline bcos we crossed the ball..now we have wingers who dont cross but they are still out wide on the touchline. Keane won the ball, passed it to a player they lost the ball and he gave them a telling off. Maybe that telling off made their attitude change for the next time they had the ball. The class of 92, were all taught to play a certain way and came into a team with ppl who they'd be scared of and they'd be scared of the manager. Things have changed from 20 years ago, the players today dont have the hunger to succeed, the success to them is making money. Im not sure how you would instill the drive and ambition into the players of today. You could maybe do it with the 10 year olds but trying to change a player at 26 year old isn't going to work. We bought players like Evra and Vidic who knew what it was like to come from their backgrounds so they had that fight. Rooney already had that winning mentality in his dna. If there was the best player in the league we would buy them, those days are gone. The other teams can do the same now so its a level playing field. Fergie was brilliant but his job was easier bcos we bought best in class that other teams in the premier league couldnt compete with. You think about the utd team, we had within the top 5 best goalkeeper, rb, cbs, lb, cm, lw, rw, strikers and alot of the time the first or second best in the league.

There's a great system in Spain (I think) where if you get the sack from a top flight club you are not allowed to manage another top flight club in that season. Seems right.

Erik should have had a proper "brainstorming" with the player group. He simply needs help to see opportunities and what he has at his disposal. There's plenty of talent, but he can't stitch it together into a unit that works. Now it may have gone too far, and it may be too late for Erik.
Why get on the players backs and make their confidence worse, ? We have to be United and back the players and build their confidence to get the best out of them.
I try to look for the common denominators in all of this.

I think Ten Hag is a good manager - for the Eridivisie.
But I think, much like Antony, Donny etc, he's been found out in the Prem as its so, so much harder.

Very hard to see this team winning any game at all.
I genuinely couldn’t care less about the Europa League. Just does nothing for me at all. It’s humiliating we’re even in it, let alone performing so badly.
And I obviously don’t want us to lose the league games coming up, let’s hope we win each one, but if we do get 2 or 3 wins then it probably also cements ETH which is majorly depressing in itself due to the longer term impact that will have. It feels like no scenario is totally positive.
BTW If we were a properly run club under INEOS then ETH wouldn’t have been kept in the summer due to one cup upset when INEOS blatantly wanted rid before it.

Watching the old games there were alot of one touch pass and move. Alot of crosses coming in. Everytime 4 or 5 players in or around the box when the wingers had the ball.
Keane would let a player go bcos he knew behind him they would pick them up, they didn't need to be told. Cole would drop when we didnt have the ball making a 5 man midfield. We had wide players on the touchline bcos we crossed the ball..now we have wingers who dont cross but they are still out wide on the touchline.
Keane won the ball, passed it to a player they lost the ball and he gave them a telling off. Maybe that telling off made their attitude change for the next time they had the ball.
The class of 92, were all taught to play a certain way and came into a team with ppl who they'd be scared of and they'd be scared of the manager.
Things have changed from 20 years ago, the players today dont have the hunger to succeed, the success to them is making money. Im not sure how you would instill the drive and ambition into the players of today. You could maybe do it with the 10 year olds but trying to change a player at 26 year old isn't going to work.
We bought players like Evra and Vidic who knew what it was like to come from their backgrounds so they had that fight. Rooney already had that winning mentality in his dna. If there was the best player in the league we would buy them, those days are gone. The other teams can do the same now so its a level playing field. Fergie was brilliant but his job was easier bcos we bought best in class that other teams in the premier league couldnt compete with.
You think about the utd team, we had within the top 5 best goalkeeper, rb, cbs, lb, cm, lw, rw, strikers and alot of the time the first or second best in the league.
ETH gets all the stick, however the players need to stand up and be counted, Bruno spouting nonsense in international break, another big pay rise and flopped this season, no leadership on the pitch, do your talking on the pitch instead

There's a great system in Spain (I think) where if you get the sack from a top flight club you are not allowed to manage another top flight club in that season. Seems right.
@@tenfour2215 So a manager gets fired (whether justified or not) and you can't manage again that season. I'm sure a restriction of trade case would cancel that.
