At 16:20 the refresh rate of the onboard display is low. This is due to a new setting in MSFS2020 that came with last patch. If you want it to refresh more frequently sop it is smoother go to General Options, Visual, Glass cockpit refresh rate. Change from Medium to High. It has a small FPS penalty, but it inproves your control substantially.

Caravan's run the risk of being over taken by pretty much anything with wings, including aging seagulls. As a result, time compression for aircraft with that sort of performance might be permitted, but a busy controller will be slightly less enthusiastic about a 400kt+ airplane doing it.

Such a great channel you have. Really enjoying seeing you learn about flight simming (something I’ve been doing for 30+ years) whilst being amazing at teaching us all real world procedures . My tip to you: Currently a lot of the G1000 is buggy or broken, so learn how the MSFS G1000 works rather than real G1000. Currently, they are not the same.

Good overview Emily! I have thought about joining Pilots Edge for a long time :-) Now, with MSFS2020 I may just do it. Thanks for this. Would love to see more videos like this one, showing the Pilots Edge network. There are not many videos currently out there like that, certainly not to this depth and quality. I am not a pilot, but really love this stuff.

Very cool to see a professional pilot flying a PC simulator with real life "ATC". Really enjoyed watching.

As a former pilot and air traffic controller, this video has made me super excited about my new VR setup. Thanks so much for this content - it's really great to see fellow Canadians doing what I love!

So late to this and am not a pilot but you are truly entertaining to watch. Never been into flight sims but love MSFS in VR. Whatever it is you're saying and doing....it is fun to watch.

That was fun, I trained at VNY and landed at Burbank once and flew with a friend with a fresh Instrument ticket to Vegas for a F1 race and had full IFR on the way back, fun times but we were young and invincible in a 182.

Just a quick note: Van Nuys is pronounced "Van (N)Eyes". KBUR is my home airport, and my in-laws live in Vegas, so this is a super familiar route to me. Love it.

Also, didn't mean to be man-splainy with that, so I apologise if that's how it came off.
And I think Emilie is maybe grammatically correct in terms of "this is a Dutch word", but colloquially that's not how we say it in Los Angeles.

This is in reference to pronunciation "Van News" at 13:19. Missed it first time through. Watched again - in honor of Emilie having to record it a second time :) .

Thank you so much Emilie for this great video. I just recently got into flight sim and I was looking for a demo of Pilot Edge. This looks SO MUCH more immersive than AI ATC.
Right now, I'm just learning the phonetic alphabet and codes... one step at a time. :)
I also bookmarked your G1000 tutorial for later and Subscribed!
Hope you can get your job back soon! Keep it up!

I'm really enjoying your tutorials Emilie. Why they're not the greatest noob friendly FS2020 tutorials, these are great for people like me who know a bit more about what I'm doing/what you're saying when you go through stuff... A while back I've picked up a set of Gleim Text books for PP and IR ratings and have been reading them to teach myself until I'm able to someday afford formal training.
