@@JohnChen9920 The crude could come from anywhere, the quastion is which refinery, most likely a US based one. Esson/Mobil being one of the largest, Philips/Conoco in the South, Pennzoil up in New England. It doesn´t matter for the customer where the oil comes from as long as the oil meets the ILSAC/API Specifications.

You are WRONG about Kirkand syn oil lasting only 3k miles.

Kirkland - SuperTech and Amazon Basic are all made by Mobil. Warren Distrabutions does the Addative Mixing and Packageing to meet automotive manufacturers requirments.
They are all Group lll API Rated. Service interval is stated in your cars owners manual.
The negitive side is that you have to be a COSTCO member in order to shop at their stores.

To be clear, Kirkland does not "make oil" it is a Brand Name.

@@scottymoondogjakubin4766 might fuck with your engine. Either way I wouldn’t put the wrong weight in there. I know during Covid there was a shortage of 0W Dash 16 oil at the Toyota dealerships and they were putting in 0W 20 because of the shortage but if they do it and something messes up you can blame it on them because it was per their recommendation and they have to cover that warranty but if you do something like that and he messes up they will not honor the warranty. I’m almost 100% sure.

There is nothing wrong with changing it every 4k miles. I used to change the oil and filter every 4000 km which is even more frequent with either Mobil1 or Kirkland and never had any problems. I initially found that 5W-20 synthetic in my 2002 CR V made the engine more noisy like with rattles on start up but the manual says you can use synthetic oil with the same intervals for oil changes. I think I was just listening more carefully and the engine starts and runs very well.
