I just got it, $25 a month. I get about 300 mbs down and 30 up mbs. Sometimes the speeds do go down. But I don't game, and rarely stream. It works for me, it only has 3 devices max at one time. I had 1.5 gigs via cable from astound broadband, but it was $66/month. But I don't need all that bandwidth.
Your service is going to depend entirely on the tower in your area and how far away from it you are. I would recommend you see if they are still offering test drive for their home internet service that way you’re not out anything if it doesn’t work well for you.
I’ve been testing it. I’m about to cancel Xfinity as it is too expensive. With T-Mobile I typically get between 400 to almost 600 mbps down and about 20 up. I don’t game so that’s pretty good for me. I pay over $100/month for Xfinity 1 gig but curiously I have never ever seen that download speed (most of the time is about 550 mbps) which is about what i get with t Mobile home internet for $30/month (coupled to the top tier magenta plan). I’m glad that Xfinity now has real competition.
I agree xfinity is too expensive. For us the T-Mobile service has worked out great. It has its short comings but for the price difference we deal with them.
The router just extends the Wi-Fi coverage because I’m using it in bridge mode to avoid a double NAT. If you don’t play any games then you could use the router to gain additional features not provided by T-Mobile. It’s still good for us but how well it works will vary by location.
My streaming has been great paired with my RUclips tv but I’m struggling to game that’s the only hang up mind you my wife has her business printers hooked up and for some reason they won’t see her devices so she had to turn off 5g so they could see them so I have some trouble shooting to do I am a pc gamer so it sucks to hear it could be unfixable issues anyways thanks for the vid you gave a lot of great insight and info 🤙🏾
We have a printer on Wi-Fi and it is also on 2.4 GHz. If you manually split the bands in the gateways settings or your router if you’re using a third party router it helps resolve printing via Wi-Fi issues.
If I could get what you get I'd be golden. I'm 1/4 mile from a tower on one end and 1/2 mile on the other end. My region is saturated with Ultra Capacity 5G I get 400-500 down on any phone that I'm using however for some reason it doesn't translate when using the Gateway. I tried the Arcadian Gateway back in May and could never get a speed test higher than 34 Mbps down which is pure crap. No matter where I put the gateway in my house or what time it was....never got even close to 40 Mbps down. I have it coming again to my house 7 months later now....I want it to work and have no clue why my cellular mobile speeds on my phone don't translate when using the gateway. I know I'm not being throttled or anything like that..I'm just wondering if the data is prioritized or not with the SIM that goes into the gateway. I was never able to get anything higer than Good signal either
The prioritization isn’t going to effect the signal that you see on the gateway or in the home internet app on your phone. Your speeds will simply be slower at peak times. They do hold mobile post paid customers higher than home internet customers so if the tower has a lot of congestion your speeds will definitely be slower. I’m in the process of testing all three gateways (Nokia, Arcadyan, and Sagemcom) in an attempt to determine which one is the best one overall. I’ve personally never experienced speeds that slow even on our worst day we still saw speeds around 80Mbps. This was before our tower was upgraded though. Since then I can have a house full of people using the internet and still pull 400Mbps on a speed test. If no one is home I get closer to 700Mbps on a speed test. The Arcadyan KVD21 is a mixed bag. I hope you get a good one that doesn’t constantly drop signal.
Just got mines the other day ,works great but during the afternoon while gaming it gets very laggy witch I was aware of before purchase since they prioritize cell users during high usage , Xfinity Had me paying over 100$ for basic internet 🤦🏾♂️ best decision I ever made was switching to T-Mobile & since I was already a customer I pay 40 $ a month 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Yeah the PC is on Ethernet. We tried some Ethernet power line adapters which did help get the ping down. Then we tried running a long Ethernet cord. In the end for PC gaming that requires a low ping it’s not great for.
@@helphq Have you tried just using a wifi connection at all? Just curious because I game on my pc now with spectrum and use wifi only and don’t have any issues with ping. Switching from spectrum to this system tomorrow and plan on using wifi hoping I dont have the same issue as your sons pc.

Again this is going to vary based on your tower, how far away from it you are, how far away from the gateway you are if using Wi-Fi on the PS5. The speed also fluctuates. So as an example because I use my Xbox series X more. Sometimes I can download games or updates at 200Mbps and sometimes it’s nearly 800Mbps. There have even been a few times it dipped down to 100Mbps. All that to say if I were to take a video of my download speed right now it may not be the same in an hour and it surely isn’t going to be the same for you unless you live in the same area on the same tower. I’d ask T-Mobile how long you can test it for free before they charge you. The gateway should be free so if you set it up you’ll know within a day or so if it will work for you. I say a day because your gateway will likely go through some firmware upgrades initially so the service might not be very good or stable initially. Hope this helps.

I just downloaded the Philo app from the channel store on Roku or App Store on our Apple TV. From there I just logged into my account. If you have a chrome cast I believe you can use the app on your phone and cast it to your tv.
I've had this T-Mobile 5G Home Internet for almost 10 months now. This is the ONLY T-Mobile service I have. I don't know how some are getting over 400 mbps. Maybe its because they are on the Magenta plan as its my understanding the Home Internet users are low priority. My max is close to and sometimes over 300 mbps but I need to be up at 3am or download before noon to get those speeds. I would have liked to see this stress test video include a 20+ gb game download or update since whenever I have a Fortnite update or download a game which maxes the connection, it will stall everything else and buffer all tv's. I'm a power user and have 5 PC's connected to the internet 24/7 and they lose connection for a few seconds VERY OFTEN! I'm talking EVERYTHING gets disconnected and some devices that were streaming movies/tv recover nicely, while my PC's don't and I have to go reset what they were doing. On bad days, this happens 2-3 times a day, on good days, every couple of days. I'd say, on average, I have 15 devices connected at any one time (PC's, laptops, TV's, Security Cams, Tablets, etc). Maybe they are purposely resetting the internet on me because they think there is an error that they see so many devices are on their network. Who knows. Hi Arthur! The service is most definitely different for everyone in terms of speeds. In my video I was able to pull that speed test with all of those items still running. We typically see around 650 to 700Mbps Download speeds to the gateway. From there it’s just a matter of how many people are using the internet to determine what each device is able to pull over Wi-Fi. We also suffered with repeated disconnects. I found the issue to be the Arcadyan KVD21. I’m in the process of testing all 3 of the gateways T-Mobile offers for an upcoming video and I can say that for whatever reason the Arcadyan has been the culprit to many of my issues with the service. As for the ping there isn’t much you can do about that. Since we’re using a cellphone tower to gain access to the internet there will always be higher latency in comparison to cable or dsl service.
I literally regret getting this man u literally can't game online with it not with any rockstar games anyway everytime I try to play GTA online it says can't connect to servers they need to be able to fix that upnp shit man really regret cutting my cable off now
I’ve noticed it’s a mixed bag. Some people have lots of issues while others have none. We had the cant connect to server issue a few times. Sometimes the game would even load and then as soon as it starts it would disconnect. I found switching everything over to Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi helped resolve that. Not completely but it made Ubisoft games that were otherwise unplayable.. now playable.

I only have one ps5 which is why I didn’t use it in the video. The ps5 actually connects to games faster than the Xbox. It works fine without any issues even if someone is playing Xbox.
I’ve had it for 4 days now. And it’s spotty at best. Horrible lag, speeds can be 25 or 300 down, multiple signal drops, can’t even run a MacAir and an Amazon Fire at the same time. I got it mainly for streaming cable as I will NEVER pay Xfinity another penny! The Roku and cat8 ethernet wires get here tomorrow. As long as the streaming cable runs smooth……I’ll keep it. If not, taking it back as I’m still in the 14 day trial. Worst case scenario is just use my iPhone with the max get more plan. I despise technology that doesn’t work consistently. 🤬
I had similar issues with the Arcadyan KVD-21 Gateway. Constant network drops. People have also reported the Sagemcom to be similar in that regard. I switched to the Nokia 5G21 and haven’t had any issues. Hope it works out for you. It’s a big money saver if so. Thanks for watching!

No wonder. Here we don’t use the wifi only when we go to town for the sec. cams. Other than that t-mobile is the best. But only when we need it. We rather spend time outdoors/grounding. 10:27 Senior Sysadmin here. Don't use extenders. They will lag you more due to the relaying. Hardwire ethernet is best.

I’ve had similar issues. I got a different gateway and it resolved that. I’d try to get a different model from the one you have now.
How far is your house to the tower?
Ballpark about a mile or so.
7:07 as you can see you just lagged
I don’t see any lag at 7:07. I was trying film with one hand and use the controller with the other. Everything was fluid.
@@helphq look at it again its very noticable to me
That's not a lag.
@@JasonRasmussenthen what is it clearly looks like lag
What about a PS5 lol
I only have one ps5 which is why I didn’t use it in the video. The ps5 actually connects to games faster than the Xbox. It works fine without any issues even if someone is playing Xbox.
@@helphq you should do a stress test on the amount of data you can consume .. if there’s any throttling whatsoever
Im a t-mobile customer. But what scares me to the core is the fact of how people can stand the mm wave or radiation. We moved out of the city cause of the headaches and Zombie mood. Hehe i felt so tired and stressed out. Now we are away from the city. We go ones a month to pueblo because of our energy was drained i check the strength on my cel. And its so ridiculous high. No wonder. Here we don’t use the wifi only when we go to town for the sec. cams. Other than that t-mobile is the best. But only when we need it. We rather spend time outdoors/grounding. And enjoyed nature with mountains views. 🤙🏾
LMAO you think the cell towers were causing your bad mood. Couldn't be just because you prefer not living in the city😅
@@jordanab100 yes!! 🤣
Non ionization radiation. Harmless.
