Our fish are finally home!! If you want to see our fish in all their glory, you NEED to come to Aqualand!! Or… tune into next week’s video where I’ll show you! As Jack said, we’re about ready to finish our Academy training events and head into pond cleanout season! Let us know what you would like to see this spring!
I'm loving the new format. There are enough videos about pond creation (although always enjoyable to watch) but the new format is so educational of all the outside factors that are important too.
Very interesting video Brian ,love the way you incorporate everything together i even learnt something { how to get hold of a koi !! } You have picked out some great koi for your show tank, and it looks great, the sand gives it a totally different unique look 🥰
video on koi health... time for my regular plug that aquascape should be promoting deeper ponds and incorporating some form of mechanical filtration that can be regularly flushed before sending waste-filled water to the bottom of the wetland filter that gets cleaned out annually. Something like a nexus, bead, or drum filter getting flushed regularly would drastically reduce the amount of waste the wetland has to process, plants have to consume, etc. You've clearly proven it's not a necessity with the sediment traps inherent to the aquascape design (lots of gravel in pond and of course wetland filter), but I think you'll find almost all serious koi keepers who spend big money on japanese fish insisting on a robust mechanical filtration that removes waste from the system rather than just breaking it down in the system.
I'm not super crazy about the new format, but since I know I don't like change, I'm willing to give it a go for a bit longer to get used to it. However, the jumpy editing is SUPER ANNOYING and very hard for me to watch. Please stop!
