Sorry, I don't know. But I am working on some projects with Google Bigquery and Looker. There are quite a lot of resources about them. But in general, it is NOT a good choice.
You taught a 4 hr lesson in 46 mins. Hats off to you man!! I love it! And using all those tools while coming up with really relevant questions is really amazing! This is the kind of video I was looking for where a Business Analyst is doing a professional data analysis while Boss is around. That "Boss" voice and questions were on spot xD Really enjoyed it!!
Funny how we have advanced so much in pedagogical methods but educators still fail to give the BASICS of teaching which is to SHOW! This video is a great example of what good pedagogy looks like. 👍👍

This is an interesting question. I think good data analysis software should enable DA to better interact with data. Like Tableau, ACL Alteryx, they are easy to use, lets DA focus on data and analysis rather than other technology. But if you say so during an interview, you might fail to get the job as DA. People expect you can write code. Well, in terms of coding, Python and its powerful libraries should be the best for data analysis. However, you might find SQL is always the priority in JDs.

In my previous projects, we could always surprise customers with findings. However, the career path of data analyst is still vague, in Canada or in Global. Most of companies treat data analytics as kind of software development. This had been proved low efficiency and low ROI. When they invested huge money, but just got couple reports, of course they think data analytics should NOT be a must. It’s “LUXURY”. And in such setting, data analyst is in awkward position. These companies will only look for some junior person who can play Excel. The core of data analytics is to enable business to ask question easily and freely. Who run business without questions everyday? So data analytics is a must. Qualify data analyst can provide business suggestions from data, who must have deep understanding of business, as well as software architecture. Data are generated and processed within software system. If you don’t know system, you don’t understand data. Do you still think data analyst lacks solid technical skills? Data analysis is the most sexy thing in the world, but just lacks of the Victoria’s Secret Show 😊

An old story :) What I demo is the most simple solution. Collaborative Filtering is more popular. Netflix's solution will involve more complex linear algebra operations. Recently, I found GNN(Graph Neural Network) also fit for this problem. How fun data analytics is!

Interesting that you talked about DB management. But it is NOT the focus of this video. When we conduct data analytics, we don't care DB management. We just pull data from DBs if needed, and perform analysis in different tools and platforms. In this video, I used ACL and Tableau.
Depends how you define Statistics. I actually try to convince people that Big data analytics is NOT traditional Statistics. Not sampling + complicated formula. 100% data + simple clicks make the huge impact!

I think they are asking a company email for trial. Otherwise, even you get the installation package, you still need to activate the software.

Like the analysis tools I used in this demo, both have plenty of data interfaces. ETL is not the barrier for data analytics nowadays.
