I was lucky enough to see Slade. Yes, excellent live but not quite Quo in their mid 70’s pomp. I saw Quo at the Hammersmith Odeon on the Rockin All Over The World Tour 1977. They were amazing- a sonic masterpiece.

This is great but honestly you need to see any footage that is available of this band from the 1970’s, with the two guitarists and the original drummer and bass player. There is a reason they were nicknamed the Frantic Four by fans. If you can have a listen to the live double album recorded at the Glasgow Apollo from around 1977 called Live. It is honestly the livest album ever recorded.🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 They are huge in Britain and most of Europe, they sold out arena tours throughout the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s 2010’s etc on the strength of their album content from 1971 through to 77 and their high energy fun live show. The Quo fans truly love this band, and I mean literally love them. I wish you success with your band purely on the strength of you getting the Quo. Rick Parfitt, the blonde guy is one of the best rhythm guitarists in rock.

Sorry to correct you mate, but QUO were given the nickname FRANTIC FOUR by members of Genesis when they saw QUO 'frantically' running around the stage gathering up all the Guitar leads etc...and other equipment.
      That's the correct story.

He messed and mixed them up all the time so from around 2010 on there is a huge sheet on the floor next to the setlist under his mic with the first line to each verse to remind him which one comes when :D

All the best! Even if they have did this song a thousend times for the last 40 years, they still give it all they have! You should also like the Glastonbury festival they did some years earlier than this, also Montreaux festival, (see clips of their own rather than the whole gig) and still you also have clips feom the 80s, like the monster version of 4509 times (17 min)..! We want more! 😊 Songs, 1968 Picture sof Matchstick men, Down the Dustpipe, In My Chair (also Live), Rain, (both album and Live), Mystgery song (Album, Live and Medley), all Live in 70s you can find (1976 Live is a ball!), also Spain.. Whatever you want, album and live, 1982 Live, 1984 End of the road.. 1986 In the Army Now, and then Live lagter 80s, up to 1990s, Live 1991 Great Live Medley, lagter Oriental, Creeping up on you, more Live of course.. and so... After Parfitt's death, Richie Malone has take that roll, listen to Backbone album.... "Bula Quo" (earlier), was a movie, not great but very good soongs from it.. "Go Go Go" and so... It elad to the Frantic Four reunion 2013-2014 with the origin line of the band, since 1982...!

Ok here is why the Us, missed out on Quo, they toured the States several times as a support band, released records under Capitol, in75,76,77 but your radio never played their records even though they did go down well. The record company didn't push them they were told by one promoter' if you pay off my mortgage' I will make it happen ' Quo's manager at the time, band included decided 'sod that' we're selling albums by the bucket load why the hell should we slog our guts out to pay off some two bit record promoter to play our records- from then on they only did Europe Britain and other countries where the records sold their attitude was 'if it goes it goes' The fans of good music missed out because they were not seen as being 'profitable by their record company promoters and your FM radio thought they were too loud! How time changes respective, when people like you are asking why they didn't make it- unfortunately you left it far too late both Rick and Alan have gone, there is only Francis and John Coghlan left of the original band left. Francis has carried on- doing a series of tours talking about his career with and with out Quo, John had his own band Coghlan's Quo- Francis has still continued to tour with 'Quo' with out Rick with Ritchie Malone standing in his place- and 24 sees them back on the road- with Andy Bown- Keyboards, John Rhino Edwards- Bass guitars and vocals and Leon Cave Drums.

I thought you'd continue with the Live Download 2014 gig, and react to the live version of this song. Their only no.1 in the UK, in the January of 1975. From their, 'On The Level', album, that also features, 'Little Lady/Most of the Time', and, 'Bye Bye Johnny.'
They've done quite a few live albums in their time. The best one has to be their Apollo, Glasgow gig, from late '76, that was released as a double album in '77. If you want to listen to the, 'no.1 rock 'n' roll band in the land', you can't go far wrong with that one. Then, there's Live at the NEC, from '82, and their, 'End of the Road', from '84.

Any QUO videos made after John Coghlan (Drums) and Alan Lancaster (Bass/Vocals) left the Band aren't the genuine QUO sound.
Somewhere in QUO's history time line the Guitar tunings changed dramatically as is evident on "Down Down"
The tuning is a couple of octaves too high.
It's what I call, as a lay person, as being 'too tinny and trebly"
Rick and Francis didn't have Alan Lancaster there to bring it to their attention.
Surely I'm not the only person in the World to notice the "tinny sound"
Some years ago I asked a mate to come to a QUO gig in the noughties and he said that he doesn't go to see Bands that break up and then reform with new members.
I tried to convince him that we'd be seeing Rick and Francis, the two best Guitarists in Rock history and he still screwed up his face with disapproval.
It's even worse for FOREIGNER fans because the FOREIGNER Band touring recently doesn't have any FOREIGNER members in it. None at all.
Mick Jones was in there for a period, though now he's gone as well.

it's so sad this "real" or "not real" BS some people go on about. Let's just enjoy good, happy, music! It isn't what it was? Of course not, how could it be? Even if they had stayed the same line up it wouldn't have been the same. And they were the same line up through the changes in the late 70s and early 80s as I'm sure you know. After "Blue fo you" it's not the same anymore. But if you ask me, not the same doesn't mean bad.
