Tatiana writes deeply personal lyrics and after performing hundreds of times she will still convey her message effectively and with that she’s brilliant

One thing, among many, that I appreciate about Tatiana is that she is very good at performing the songs. It helps, of course, that she writes the lyrics but many vocalists in a band do the same thing. She is very intentional in going from harsh to clean vocals, as well as deciding the type of clean vocals. She is also an actress on stage, using her eyes, facial expressions and body movements to convey the meaning of the song. It is now less than two months until I see her perform in person. If she brings it at the small club where I will see Jinjer, it means she never takes a show off.
When I first heard this song (from their great Macro album) I thought it might be about DID. I now think it might be simply about people changing with increasing success. If people do change because of success and adoration from fans, the change is rarely for the better. Do performers feel that change coming? Do they fight it before it ultimately wins? As usual, Tatiana has written lyrics that make you think. Jinjer has a t-shirt based on this song (which I might wear to the show) which shows Tatiana on her knees inside what looks like a tomb. She is looking upward as both arms are extended outwards, her hands scratching on the concrete walls. A very haunting image.

That shirt is one of the twelve Jinjer shirts I own, and it's probably my favorite. Planning on wearing it when I see them at Rockfest next month.

After seeing them live for the first time, I’ll never miss another concert when they’re in my area. Best concert I’ve ever been to.
I’m so glad their beginning struggles paid off. Such talent from every one of them.
Love the way you two break it all down with lyrics and music and discussions about it all I really appreciate.

A friend in college lamenting on the decline in rawness and aggression over time of metal bands made me think of metal being therapeutic.
About feeling like a fraud, I kind of feel like their new song Copycat has a bit of that in it, though it was probably about a musician she was influenced by but who she later grew disillusioned by because many of their songs were covers that they never publicly acknowledged.

Please don't use Jinjer and Fraud in the same sentence, their one of the most authentic bands on the planet, and Damm that was a Long pause..
