Church at their finest, I don’t know why Sydney bloody radio stations ignore Aussie bands for overseas crap !! I don’t know how , I don’t know why .......
Voyage begins with a single sail Weave through the heaving sea Even as the city leaves me I don't know how I don't know why Pale glare deceiving Jail bird sings such a sad song Even as the city leaves me I gotta choose sometime I gotta lose sometime I don't know how I don't know why I don't know how I don't know why I step into the shade where the fading loom I get a bit delayed in the waiting room I get a bit unmade on a mushroom I get a bit abraded in your jaded tomb I gotta choose sometime I gotta lose sometime I gotta choose sometime I don't know how I don't know why I don't know how I don't know why I don't know how I don't know why I don't know how I don't know why I don't know how I don't know why
Love this. Brimming with "ringing" guitar and spacey vocals reminiscent of the best 60s psychedelic music... ....like the Byrds or the Stones from "Between The Buttons." The Church continues to make superb, shimmering music. The Church has always taken the best of early folk rock (before it went acid-hard) and given it new relevance. It's rather timeless music. Which makes it eternally fresh music, and great music. The Byrds meet Tom Petty on smooth acid... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One of the greatest bands ever!!!! I saw them twice on their Starfish tour back in the 80's once with The 3 O'Clock and the second time with Peter Murphy. Those show will stick with me forever. What an amazing, talented, inspirational band. Don't ever stop making music guys. Thanks for all the memories.
Peter Murphy and The Church? Must have been a hell of a show... I missed them during the 88' Starfish tour, but caught Peter Murphy with then unknown Trent Reznor/NIN opening. I finally made up for it by making a pilgrimage with my wife to Alexandria Virginia, to the Birchmere to see The Church in 2016 to sit front row, as well as the meet and greet. It was simply awesome.
I love how the great songs just keep coming. When the story's finally finished (hopefully many decades from now) everyone will know they are the real deal.
I'm a huge yuuuge Church fan. Saw them in 1990 at The Warfield in San Francisco. Sounds like they are channeling The Moody Blues in this song. Not a bad combination. Lovely. Peter Koppes must be the most elegant looking man in rock n' roll.
Something like 27 albums in, and they still manage to sound fresh and new. Few veteran bands can make that claim. In fact, I can only think of one other band (Wire) that has been able to pull that off. I just can’t believe so many people here in the U.S. still think of them as a one-hit wonder.
Listen to AM radio in my grandmothers '72 Chevelle 1 summer night in '88 & have been a fan ever since. "Under The Milky-Way" got my attention. This piece is right up there. Thank You Much! ∞
It’s because evil satanic reptilians control the airwaves and like cars, architecture, politics, sexuality, religion and everything else they want individuality, creativity, and anything that represents the soul and spirit erased from the face of the earth so they can control the herd in the beast system. But don’t worry, JC wins.
I gotta tell you, Steve's bringing Ian Hague in was a brilliant move. From their last two albums, these guys have been reborn. This song is such a brilliant piece of music!
Poor Church and Kilbey. Best band and best song writer ever, yet no one even knows the two exist. Sad. I always acquaintances about the Church when discussing music. Most have heard "milky way". They have done so much better stuff since 1988, but no one knows.
I discovered The Church 43 years ago and I think this would have to be my favourite song of theirs. It takes me away to another place. And ..."I get a bit unmade on a mushroom..." is THE best lyric of all time.
Superb, great album & an outstanding track from it Can't wait till they are here in Glasgow, looking so forward to seeing & hearing them live, my first time Great arrangements & this song plays in my head constantly, lovely melody & riff to it.
Beautiful! I so wish the Church would do more music, like this, that is comprehensible to a wider audience without losing the high quality. I would like to see them more famous and make more money. Also, I really like albums like Starfish and especially the magnificent Under the Milky Way.
What a wonderful band. So much talent. I love the way they can capture the pure and wide immensity of a song, along with close attention to detail every step of the way. It's a true musical gift. Astounding. 💛⭐🌌
Funny thing: I've bought every album, and the same thing happens every time (Excepting Starfish): I buy it. I listen to it twice, and then I think, "Nope, I don't like it. I don't know what they were going for, but they missed it." Then I put it on the shelf, and 2 or 3 years later, when I'm desperate for something to listen to, I'll haul it down, listen to it, and wonder, "What the hell was wrong with me? Why didn't I like this? Was I just not ready for it yet?" I adore them, but I guess I'm just rather slow.
ABC 02 No longer the venue for the Church Great management, a new venue for the 20th The 02 Academy pleased to hear, well done everyone. Looking forward to seeing them .
Started listening to the Church when I was a teenager, I'm now 53!! How the fuck did that happen????

Simple. Real true quality ENDURES!

Peter's guitar work is just effortless - always in awe
Listen to a new song he did using lyrics from my new book - type in Steve Kilbey Patrick Woodcock - brilliant song.
One original member left in The Church. Is it a Steve Kilbey solo band now?
@@mirrortime Drummer Tim Powles has been with the band for 30 years.
This is the only Church I wanna visit every Sunday 😇
Listen to a new song he did using lyrics from my new book - type in Steve Kilbey Patrick Woodcock - brilliant song.
Church at their finest, I don’t know why Sydney bloody radio stations ignore Aussie bands for overseas crap !! I don’t know how , I don’t know why .......
To me this is like all of my favorite bits of their songs since the 80s rolled into a one song. I can't get enough of it.
Just discovered this song only today, played it about 15 times already, truly magnificent
The living legend.........Peter Koppes
Yeah, he's pretty good isn't he! 😊
the church are more relevant now thats how......they were always ahead of theeeir time

If you want to hear something new and amazing by Kilbey put "Steve Kilbey Patrick Woodcock" into the youtube search. An incredible song.
WOW! 3.46 of pure bliss. One of the best Church songs ever. Amazing!
This music extends infinitely in all directions, I feel like I'm floating in space.
stupid word salad
Trixy B - I totally get what you mean 😊

Love Steves's voice and the guitar work is soulful and masterful
Always entrancing, mysticlal and thought provoking.
The church make music the stuff of dreams.
Possibly the most underrated band I know of.
I love this song one of my favorites 😎🦅💖

They make it sound easy. Blows away most new bands
They play it so effortlessly. Natural rockers.

These guys are doing it for me now. Music is life, love, everything. God bless us every one.

One of the most unusual songs I've ever heard.Awesome guitar by Koppes.Surreal video. The Church at their best
It's no wonder that the Church stand head & shoulders above and beyond all comers and also rans.

I wonder why good music gets poor air play sometimes and hard to find nowadays, thanks for sharing.
It’s because evil satanic reptilians control the airwaves and like cars, architecture, politics, sexuality, religion and everything else they want individuality, creativity, and anything that represents the soul and spirit erased from the face of the earth so they can control the herd in the beast system. I saw this for the first time at around 2 am on Rage ABC TV...amazing song. I cant wait to see The Church In Sydney 2017.
This was my favorite of the four new songs they played on their U.S. tour prior to the album being released.
I discovered The Church 43 years ago and I think this would have to be my favourite song of theirs. It takes me away to another place. And ..."I get a bit unmade on a mushroom..." is THE best lyric of all time.
Puurrfect!
Reminds me of my Aussie baby James* I miss you babe!
Beatiful song, all the way from straya, have been following them since they started, god knows how many times I have seen them live.
Shimmering, ethereal auditory bliss...The Church is. So sayeth Master Yoda!
