I've been dying to talk about this topic. A quick disclaimer: I'm not dealing with Mikayla apologists here lol. She flat-out lied and manipulated an ad and denied it. Which is so wrong. We should support creators who are ethical and honest. Not this. It's one thing if she loved the mascara and others didn't. That's a personal experience that she has a right to. Also people aren't idiots. It's 2023 and people know what falsies look like, no matter how subtle. If someone wants to look like they're wearing falsies, they'll wear falsies.
Sorry to comment twice, but I had more thoughts! 1. THANK YOU for not giving Jeffree Star a pass (so many people have) 2. Her joke about this situation made my blood boil- there are so many times she’s defended herself in the past by saying she has really bad anxiety and body image issues, but for this situation she’s just totally unbothered and laughing about it? Overall, I always love your commentary on situations like this- thank you for making this video!!
i remember when she would say she didnt use filters but you could see clearly that there was a filter. people use filters sometimes you don't have to lie abt it.
Yess! See I don’t mind filters as long as there’s a time and place. Like don’t use a filter when you’re giving a foundation review to viewers lol. But if you’re doing it randomly then I mean go for it 😂
I can't even watch her ...and this was before this mascara drama..... She just rubs me the wrong way!! I'm soooo glad that everyone is calling her out on all her unethical behaviors!!!! Money went straight to her head!!!!
Exactly!!! It's not "just about mascara" it's about soooo much more!! It's about straight lying to your followers, not disclosing it's a paid ad, being unethical and soooo much more!!! And this is not the first time she has done these things !!! Money took over her conscience, values and any ethical behavior she HAD.
People really do need to realize how much even just lighting can make a difference in how your photos/videos look. Don’t trust someone with no pores, skin is skin and everyone has texture.
THIS! Literally when I film some vlogs on my vlog channel I’ll say how the lighting is doing me justice and making my skin look far better than what it is. So much can impact the details!
Living in korea right now and MY GOD most koreans have such nice skin. I don't think there's anything wrong with having skin texture ofc I have it myself but wow I've seen so many koreans with fully smooth airbrushed skin irl.
Yes! Jeffree star's energy does not need to make a comeback. I get there will always be drama in these spaces but once someone behaves in a racist way/ says racist things AND is notorious for disingenuous apologies, I simply can't take them seriously anymore.
I'm so sick of JS sticking his racist, anti-Semitic, misogynistic nose in EVERY possible drama as leverage. He literally uses ANYYY excuse to step on another female creator for his own profit. Of course I'm not excusing any of their actions...but it's just his track record. He constantly comes back into circulation when a female creator has some sort of drama, big or small. I wish someone would slap some sense into him and tell him he doesn't need to profit off the backs of others!

Also, my best friend from Boston has said her accent sounds 100% fake, kinda like a jersey-ish fake accent. (And there’s also a video of her with no accent from before she really blew up, too!!)
Thank you for sharing this. I'm hearing so much about how her accent is super fake and I don't get it. Like don't get me wrong my voice has adjusted through my RUclips career but that was because of age and confidence. This is a wild change loll
yeah. I’m from MA and when I first listen to her I was like did she spend time in like New Jersey in Rhode Island as well? if anyone is interested, I’m sure you could go on RUclips and look for examples of strong Boston accents. The strongest of them are people from like East Boston, Southie, Revere. I’m not saying you have to be from those places, but if you want to hear a strong accent look those up and they do not sound like her. but then I’m thinking if she was faking it, more people that know her would have come out? I see some talk about it but I would expect her entire hometown to come out or something.
The fact that the was crying about how hard it is to be an influencer and then turned around and lied about mascara is just wild to me. You know what happens if I were to falsify something at my job? I'd get fired... immediately.
Thanks for covering this Isabella. I don't do tik-tok or follow Mikayla, lol. I've heard about this through RUclips. Just what I have seen from her, I didn't find her genuine, totally surprised at the following she has amassed. And how some don't see the big picture and why what she did is not good, surprises me as well. She knew she did something wrong, even went back and put "paid advertisement" on that original, now infamous, tik-tok. It all leaves me with an icky feeling. If anyone doesn't know, Emily Noel, right here on RUclips is the most honest reviewer I know! She doesn't do paid partnerships, not saying anything is wrong with them...she tells you if she received a product in PR and gives the most thorough and truly honest reviews. Not to mention she's a sweetheart and doesn't entertain drama. I realize some people are just into tik-tok and that format. I'll always turn to my faves on RUclips, and maybe Instagram, to keep informed when it comes to beauty.💛

Thank you for covering this Isabella… her behaviour is freaking shocking! Quick question - was there any response at all from L’Oréal about this mess? x
I first found a reaction of this person from a person who didn’t really know beauty stuff but found it interesting. I’m glad I found your account and a video about this person. :)
OOOOOO yes Isabella! I’ve been WAITING for this one! 👏🏽 I’ve never understood how she’s “popular” and how people like her. Everything about her gives me the ick. Then when she had friends and actual videos from hs and college showing her talking normal and saying she’s never had or used this weird ass voice. I miss the days of semi authentic beauty influencers. She and Meredith (girl who wastes so much product by just smearing it all over her face 🤮) are so clearly doing absolutely insane things just trying to be relevant and what drives me crazy is that people are actually buying into their bs. UGH. Side note please do more things like this I’m HERE for it🙌🏼
Oh girl, her minions will not like this one lol I unfollowed her because of her response. Had she just apologized I would have given her a pass, but after this?? Nah, unfollowed and blocked
As a content creator since 2010 I’m absolutely raging… not only is she’s lying and false advertising she’s also giving us all a bad name and all the support she’s getting in the comments is mind blowing 😳😳😳 all these problematic influencers are getting all the success and anyone who’s genuine is always forgotten it’s sad really I miss the old days 😂
Wow, I never heard of this girl. But I saw this video of hers as a short here on yt. And considered trying the mascara. L'oreal belongs to the richest family of France, they should invest in some quality when it comes to ads. Its disgusting.
Some people are saying it's not a big deal and to stop being dramatic, that companies lie all the time. That's the issue though, people watch creators on social media so they can see the truth of products. If more creators start lying it would be so shit for consumers who just want to know if a product is worth it or not 😅
She's so disappointing, I still don't get why lie in the first place? She lied about the lashes, she misled that being a ad. And to make matters worse, double down on the comments saying that she didn't use falsies.
Manu MUA AND Jeffree Star are on tiktok?! I feel old. And yes, we dont need more more makeup content from JS. That man should be embracing the cottage core to Wh1te supramcy pipeline and stay gone.
Uuhhh I feel so dumb, but it was actually illuminating to just be told that makeup doesn’t remove texture. I know that’s just logical but I think I just have this mental block with it idk Also, Jeffrey 10000% just used this situation to make videos again, esp. after he JUST said he was leaving RUclips for good. There is no way we will ever be rid of him 😭
okay well one, i am a black person so therefore i have every right to speak on the jefree situation. i genuinely enjoy his video and yes his past is shady but that’s majority of the people on the earth i’m sure you have had friends who’ve said disgusting things weather it was a joke or not. we all make mistakes and stuff but cancelling people isn’t going to end racism or teach people anything. all we can ask is for accountability. i employ you to watch the video of the ex-white supermacist who went around deep diving into the root of their TAUGHT racism and reversing their generational curses. because racism is TAUGHT everyone CAN change, anything that can be learned can be unlearned… and i’m not saying you have to be a jefree stan but imagine if someone just wrote you off for the REST of ur life for ur mistakes even though you’ve moved on and evolved ? you wouldn’t like that would you? no u wouldn’t …
Question for makeup artist Isabella (or anyone else who can help lol) how do you get false lashes to point up and not just out? I’ve got the flattest natural lashes and the falsies always end up on their level blockin my view 😂
Ok funny enough I’m doing my makeup rn. There’s a specific place I glue my lashes to help with lifting. Also I’ve seen people curl the lashes before applying. I’ll film a tutorial for my vlog channel sometime to show you guys how I do my glam!
The whole over promising results across the short term content platforms is just annoying. As a person who has worked in cosmetic sales for close to ten years it’s so lazy. Take the time to talk about just the benefits to sell a product. Know who your people and listen to there needs. This “nothing can compare” on a product every other video makes your words mean less and will set people up to be More disappointed than even satisfied. 🤷🏻♀️
I personally unfollowed her after her last scandal. Cause how is she going to sit here and complain about a full time job that many of us dream of. I would love to do this full time considering I work a 9-5 that drains me. She just gives me a bad taste and a spoiled brat attitude.
I have only heard her talk on videos where people are calling out this madness (I had never heard of her before) and every time I am shocked at how popular she is because, and this is going to sound super petty, but her voice is SO obnoxious… nails on a chalkboard level. I know there is so much more to a person than that (although doesn’t seem like the “more” to this girl is anything positive) but my goodness I could never watch her consistently because of that voice…. Again, I know I’m being petty… but am I the only one???
I barely started hearing of this person and something about her just grinds my gears! I cannot stand her and I skip over her speaking and only listen to the commentary lol Please nooooo more of her! She does not deserve any more attention
People used to have nondisclosed ads on tiktok but I've seen that changing over the past year or so. It was the wild west for a hot second lol but she was in fact in the wrong
The irony of her doing an ad explaining how some influencers add lashes and even shows how it's done & which lashes & how it can mislead their audience,& then her doing an ad doing the same thing as she showed in that video but yet denying it 😂
Yes LMFAO. like please Mikayla being an influencer is not as hard as working a 9-5. As someone who used to work 2 waiter jobs as a college student to now? World of difference. The lack of awareness and appreciation she has is gross.
I assumed this video was going to be about the foundation she lied about. Dang I didn't know she had a mascara drama too. I don't have tik tok and don't follow any beauty influencers but I have came across a few things in the YT shorts about her. There's just something about her that rubs me the wrong way and apparently she's very dishonest and greedy.
It’s the fact that influencers can get away with joking about committing crimes that pisses me off. Her being able to laugh this off is wrong on so many different levels. I’ve never watched her before, and I never will, simply because her personality seems so shit.
She told me I won and several others we won her makeup box then asked for 78$ Then I asked for an invoice and sent me fake packaging slip I have sxreen ahoots how is this legal..
There's a theory going around that this was intentional, and Loreal was targeting influencers. Causing them to buy and post honest reviews giving Loreal an even bigger reach and sales. I dunno, I'm kinda on the fence on that one
i unfollowed her months ago when she came out with that influencer bs of a job she has. a real job and being an influencer are not the same! no customers service is being provided
I think that Jeffree has tried to make amends for his past racist comments and I hope that he is sincere and that he has changed. I do like to give people the chance to change and not label them according to their past if they have demonstrated proof of their change. Of course, only time will tell. James Charles, OTOH, seems to still be up to his same old predatory behavior. Ugh. Too much. Mikayla is just someone I only watched a handful of times but she just didn’t come across as sincere and her mini reviews were always kind of over the top. This latest shenanigan of hers validated my opinion of her.
@@Cee944 oh definitely not excusing it but my hope is that people can and do change. I do agree with your sentiment though. If someone says something is hurtful, we need to listen- that goes for everything so if people are still hurting/angry with his past comments/behavior, those are the consequences of his behaviors.
@@Cee944 also after further reflection and research, I want to say you are absolutely correct. I don’t want to come across as indecisive on that part. We as WP need to have the backs of BIPOC and call out racist behavior whenever we see it.
People definitely have similar accents to her. I've heard them with my own ears! She might accentuate a bit but I think it's mostly legit. Also as a non-dramatic person, I am really soaking up all this dramaaaaaa. 😂 P.S. here from Chelsea's channel! Glad she shouted you out.
I didnt know who she was and didnt know she was the one about the eyelash drama, but I saw a few of her videos and didnt like her or how she came off, I also dont like star either.
Okay so in what you're saying, I think it's two different spectrums. On the one hand as you speaking about the medical profession and those people that have gone to school to do the things that they do. To take care of people is one thing. that's their job and that's what they get paid to do.its what they have their education in and what they have the degree in. Now someone who decides to put themselves out there especially in the society that we live in now where everybody feels it's okay to judge everybody because they can hide behind a computer or behind the screen, that's a very difficult situation. Mind you, you-know-what I know a lot of people cannot do that. a lot of people that have insecurities and whatnot ,that takes a strong person to be able to have tough skin to have to sit there and listen and read the negative things that people have to say just cuz they feel that they can without getting to know the person. Fine that you don't agree with somebody, but to take it to steps further where you tear them down and pull them apart piece-by-piece when majority of the time people could not do the same thing, and can put themselves out there because of their insecurities or they feel they don't fit the norm and area and type of the magazines and what people are supposed to look like and everyone supposed to be beautiful, more off supposed to be perfect that's not the way the world works. so for these people to go out there and say look this is me and this is what I think you don't have to agree with me I'm just letting you know my opinion and my thoughts. When a lot of these other content creators reach for their 15 minutes. They start turning them down I mean have any of y'all talked to her reach out to her and spoken to her woman to woman.
She's making so much because she tells people they won her box and mac book then charges you 78$ Then they stalk you until you pay the 78 she does it threw a fake fed ex account I have a screen shots who does this....This is the real problem also her stealing money from people who do I reportcthis to I have alot of proof
I think she just has a peach impediment, I'm not trying to be mean, but from the looks of her, I'm leaning more towards impediment, the woman scares the bejesus outta me, honestly

I was just listening to this in the car without looking at I thought it was an old woman
Uuhhh I feel so dumb, but it was actually illuminating to just be told that makeup doesn’t remove texture. I know that’s just logical but I think I just have this mental block with it idk
Also, Jeffrey 10000% just used this situation to make videos again, esp. after he JUST said he was leaving RUclips for good. There is no way we will ever be rid of him 😭
As someone from an area not far from her… that accent is so forced and you can tell in earlier videos from her
okay well one, i am a black person so therefore i have every right to speak on the jefree situation. i genuinely enjoy his video and yes his past is shady but that’s majority of the people on the earth i’m sure you have had friends who’ve said disgusting things weather it was a joke or not. we all make mistakes and stuff but cancelling people isn’t going to end racism or teach people anything. all we can ask is for accountability. i employ you to watch the video of the ex-white supermacist who went around deep diving into the root of their TAUGHT racism and reversing their generational curses. because racism is TAUGHT everyone CAN change, anything that can be learned can be unlearned… and i’m not saying you have to be a jefree stan but imagine if someone just wrote you off for the REST of ur life for ur mistakes even though you’ve moved on and evolved ? you wouldn’t like that would you? no u wouldn’t …
@@IsabellaLanter thank you love!
Mikayla Brittany Dawn Noguiera
The fact she told on herself by that old video omg 😂
I personally unfollowed her after her last scandal. Cause how is she going to sit here and complain about a full time job that many of us dream of. I would love to do this full time considering I work a 9-5 that drains me. She just gives me a bad taste and a spoiled brat attitude.
I also learned today that makeup doesn't remove texture.
Idk if I buy her accent at all. My dad grew up in the same area as her and he sounds literally nothing like that.
I don't even know who Mikayla is, as I don't follow the beauty community (I'm probably your only viewer who is male). But this should be a good video.
I appreciate you for being here lolll
Okay so I'm watching this since you're describing it,
Interesting that in her video about how to lie about wearing false lashes she is waving around L’Oreal mascara.
Now for the science bit - it’s a fake lash
I barely started hearing of this person and something about her just grinds my gears! I cannot stand her and I skip over her speaking and only listen to the commentary lol
Please nooooo more of her! She does not deserve any more attention
People used to have nondisclosed ads on tiktok but I've seen that changing over the past year or so. It was the wild west for a hot second lol but she was in fact in the wrong
The irony of her doing an ad explaining how some influencers add lashes and even shows how it's done & which lashes & how it can mislead their audience,& then her doing an ad doing the same thing as she showed in that video but yet denying it 😂
Is this the same lady who was like I work to 5:15/5:45 and went viral?
Yes LMFAO. like please Mikayla being an influencer is not as hard as working a 9-5. As someone who used to work 2 waiter jobs as a college student to now? World of difference. The lack of awareness and appreciation she has is gross.
@@IsabellaLanter Dang she is on a roll lately then 🤣
i am SO sorry to the massachusetts accent but all i could hear was peter/lois griffin in those clips 😭😭😭😭
I'm from mass and I don't talk like that...I'll drop an R every once in awhile...she def plays it up
I assumed this video was going to be about the foundation she lied about.
Her accent sounds like Peter Griffin…Mikayla does
she is the prime example of "don't bite the hand that feeds u"
girl, bye✌️
I love your shirt.
I live in Boston and I haven’t heard that accent or as strong like she has… I honestly though she was from a different country 😧
There's a theory going around that this was intentional, and Loreal was targeting influencers. Causing them to buy and post honest reviews giving Loreal an even bigger reach and sales. I dunno, I'm kinda on the fence on that one
As a woman who has never worn make up a day in my life, I don't understand any of this.
Everything clicked when you said Massachusetts. For some reason my brain was registering her as as a transgender British person.
Can you link your shirt?
Oh, this is gonna be good. ☠️
i unfollowed her months ago when she came out with that influencer bs of a job she has. a real job and being an influencer are not the same! no customers service is being provided
Hey there, as a fellow white person - we aren’t the ones being affected by Jeffree’s racism, so we don’t get to excuse it.
We as WP need to have the backs of BIPOC and call out racist behavior whenever we see it.
real, honest question here. Did jeffrey not apologize? I am not trying to upset anyone when asking this
People definitely have similar accents to her. I've heard them with my own ears! She might accentuate a bit but I think it's mostly legit. Also as a non-dramatic person, I am really soaking up all this dramaaaaaa. 😂
P.S. here from Chelsea's channel! Glad she shouted you out.
Except that she didn't have the accent in her old videos
The accent thing is fake. There are really old videos of her speaking without the accent.
I didnt know who she was and didnt know she was the one about the eyelash drama, but I saw a few of her videos and didnt like her or how she came off, I also dont like star either.
I never heard of this girl and now thats ive heard her speak... I'm not interested at all.
Get my car keys!
Your khakis?
PLEASE 😂😂😂😂😂
NOT AT ALL a “mikayla apologist” but she’s actually just blessed in the skin department she doesn’t have texture and if she does it’s little to NONE
They start turning them down I mean have any of y'all talked to her reach out to her and spoken to her woman to woman.
confused do you have to verbally state it's a payed promotion ?
I wish he'd stick with his ranch. The career pivot wasn't a bad idea, because we don't really need him as a public figure in this world.
She's making so much because she tells people they won her box and mac book then charges you 78$ Then they stalk you until you pay the 78 she does it threw a fake fed ex account I have a screen shots who does this....This is the real problem also her stealing money from people who do I reportcthis to I have alot of proof
tbh her accent sounds Irish I one side of my family are Irish so I'm not sure what the accent sounds like from where she comes from as I'm from uk
FIRST!!!
HEYYYYYY!!
@@IsabellaLanter hey!!!! I finished your video, it was great!!!
Wait what did I miss ?? How is JStarr a racist?? Spill the tea ☕️ 😅
I think she just has a peach impediment, I'm not trying to be mean, but from the looks of her, I'm leaning more towards impediment, the woman scares the bejesus outta me, honestly
