    As the world's Number 1 Dratini fan and someone absolutely terrified of 3D modeling, this video was awesome! Your tutorials and tips are all really nice for easing people into how 3D modeling works.

    in blender 3.5.1 the mixRBG node is replaced by the mix color node and is currently unsearchable you have to go to the color tab to find it.

    Anyone know of a good tutorial to go from the block out to remesh/retopology phase? (For game characters/assets).

    • @VertexArcade
      @VertexArcade  5 месяцев назад +1

      I do want to make a video on Retopology at some point but the main thing is to start as low poly as possible, use 4, 6 or 8 vertices around all of your major landmarks, so eyes, mouth, nose, ears, horns etc. then it's just a matter of connecting those areas

    May I ask how do you do the orb? Is that part of the textures or the a different shader?

  • @olive548

    wait can't you use grease pencil for outline ?

    • @VertexArcade
      @VertexArcade  Год назад +5

      Yeah you could! But Grease Pencil wouldn't transfer over to a game engine where the Solidify method would

    Hello, your video is very inspirational. I also want to make a channel dedicated to fan-art Pokemon, similar to yours. But I just wonder, can I monetize the channel? Am I having a problem with copyright?

    i rarely write comments. But this was very helpful! Ecspecially the info concerning the use in a game engine. Maybe this is too much to ask for but i would really like to see how you attempt to make this game ready for unity or UE

    That's really cool, I've been wondering though, is there a reason people don't make their own pokemon animations. Like if you made the models more stylized and directed your own pokemon episode or battles in 3D?

    • @VertexArcade
      @VertexArcade  3 месяца назад +1

      You could certainly do that but it would be a lot of work! You would have to obviously plan it, model the Pokemon, model the environment, animate the battle, make any FX, then do sound design and music, but if those are things you're comfortable with, then go for it! It could definitely be a niche market to gain a following

    • @VIAmotionpictures
      @VIAmotionpictures 3 месяца назад

      @VertexArcade Oh yeah. There would be a lot of additional things to consider, which could take an enormous amount of time and not to mention computing power haha. I assumed people didn't do it for copyright reasons, being afraid that Nintendo would strike it down or something like that. Could this happen too? Also thank you so much for answering. I really appreciate it 🙏

    • @VertexArcade
      @VertexArcade  3 месяца назад +1

      @VIAmotionpictures if you made your own pokemon designs they definitely couldn't come after you. You could also just make them as a showcase of your animations skills, or to learn animation, and as long as you're not making money from it, it would be fine to use actual Pokemon designs

    Howdy, love the tutorial. Exactly the kind of help I’m looking for. I’m wondering though how you are taking the different elements (ears etc..) and disconnecting them from the model to use as other body parts??
