d5 was still usefull move even without that combination, as ding could blockade nepo pawn with forcing line to change queens and keep pressuring king with knight and rook. I havent notices ding brilliancy, but saw in d5 way to effectively continue game and bring that pawn to promotion.

I kind think it could have been unnecessary as he could have used the knight on the back rank to check the king, and then rotated the queen around the black pawn.
@@travislizer9581 That queen around the pawn was not working. Anish Giri and Howell tried it live. After the knight check, there was one tempo missing. The White queen could never leave the black diagonale (like the queen go around the pawn as you suggest) because black will create a perpetual check. That's why the queen had to stay there first. The solution the master on TV saw (and the engine) was rook to B7, forcing an exchange of rook, the only defender of the black king. So when Ding played pawn D5 they could not understand it. A poem on Chess !! The board is set, the pieces in place The game begins with a steady pace The pawns advance, the knights prance Strategies form, the plan enhances The bishops move on diagonal lines The queen, she reigns, the king, he hides The rooks castle, the opponents hassle Tactics arise, the pressure'll dazzle The players ponder, the clock ticks Every move, a moment to fix The tension mounts, the end in sight The thrill of victory, the fear of flight The board evolves, the game takes hold Each piece a story to be told The sacrifices made, the positions swayed The players fight, the game's parade And then it ends, the checkmate sealed The victory claimed, the fate revealed The pieces retire, the board is clear Until next time, the game will appear. Chess, a game of thought and skill A battle of wits, a mental thrill A challenge for the wise and bold A classic game that never grows old.
On a checkered board of black and white, The battle rages on with all its might, Each piece with purpose, each move precise, Strategizing, thinking, never thinking twice. The king, the queen, the rooks, the knights, The bishops, the pawns, all in sight, Each with a role, each with a place, Moving in patterns, with elegant grace. The game of chess, a war of minds, A battlefield where victory finds, Those who see beyond the present move, And plan ahead, with a steadfast groove. The game is not won with force alone, But with intelligence and tactics shown, The pieces dance, with grace and skill, And victory is achieved with a final thrill. Oh chess, how you challenge and inspire, Teaching us to think and never tire, Of the possibilities that lay ahead, As we strategize and move ahead. So let the game begin, with hearts of fire, And let the chess pieces never tire, For on this board of black and white, We shall fight, with all our might. -- ChatGPT

Its good to see Ding coming back to his best chess he once played 3-4 Years ago - hopefully he can play constantly back to his best for all the fans out there of top level chess! ❤

Incredible match. That pawn to d5 was brilliant preparing the queen sacrifice and a check mate.
No one saw the check coming. Anish did not see it. David did not see it. Magnus from the bar did not see it. I did not see it.
Ding and Stockfish 4.2 only knew the check mate pattern.
Kudos to Ding..
how do u know magnus didn't see it
@@callmeterry5371 Magnus is a poker fish now
Then surely Ding cheated.
@@eprigfqm😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
@@GreyWindMan, it's a joke about Magnus🤦🏼
i enjoy your indepth analysis and vast chess knowledge thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
The most interesting part is when Ding played d5, no one actually agrees. Anish and David doubt it, even Stockfish didn't consider it. But once he played Stockfish agreed with the move. Such a spectacular game to watch online live.
The best chess channel for sure! Thank you very much!
I love the detailed explanation! I'm nowhere near a "strong" chess player but your videos have made me much better and I got both the "pause the video" moves on this one!
PS - I would rather watch your videos than watch the actual chess games. Great work!
For the world championship always explain as much as possible. I appreciate the explanations
Six games, four wins (2-2). This is going to be a classic.
Great analyses, i feel it even could be longer. Such a spectacular game. Thx
I personally love your format and really enjoy the pauses to illuminate the strategy and explore alternate lines. I haven't followed chess prior to this but this series has absolutely become appointment viewing for me.
I like the commentary and exploration into different lines very much. Thats for me the reason i watch. If i only want the moves i can look somewhere else
A poem on Chess !!
The board is set, the pieces in place
The game begins with a steady pace
The pawns advance, the knights prance
Strategies form, the plan enhances
The bishops move on diagonal lines
The queen, she reigns, the king, he hides
The rooks castle, the opponents hassle
Tactics arise, the pressure'll dazzle
The players ponder, the clock ticks
Every move, a moment to fix
The tension mounts, the end in sight
The thrill of victory, the fear of flight
The board evolves, the game takes hold
Each piece a story to be told
The sacrifices made, the positions swayed
The players fight, the game's parade
And then it ends, the checkmate sealed
The victory claimed, the fate revealed
The pieces retire, the board is clear
Until next time, the game will appear.
Chess, a game of thought and skill
A battle of wits, a mental thrill
A challenge for the wise and bold
A classic game that never grows old.
🤌 Spectacular.

On a checkered board of black and white,
The battle rages on with all its might,
Each piece with purpose, each move precise,
Strategizing, thinking, never thinking twice.
The king, the queen, the rooks, the knights,
The bishops, the pawns, all in sight,
Each with a role, each with a place,
Moving in patterns, with elegant grace.
The game of chess, a war of minds,
A battlefield where victory finds,
Those who see beyond the present move,
And plan ahead, with a steadfast groove.
The game is not won with force alone,
But with intelligence and tactics shown,
The pieces dance, with grace and skill,
And victory is achieved with a final thrill.
Oh chess, how you challenge and inspire,
Teaching us to think and never tire,
Of the possibilities that lay ahead,
As we strategize and move ahead.
So let the game begin, with hearts of fire,
And let the chess pieces never tire,
For on this board of black and white,
We shall fight, with all our might. -- ChatGPT

That was amazing. I remember such a beautiful mate in the Kasparov-Short world champ match, but Short was clearly outclassed. Here the players are so evenly matched and still entertaining with hardly any draws.
Dont change a thing about how you do recaps 99% of us love what you're doing!!!
There is no such thing as too much explaining! That is why we love this channel!
The reason to watch the breakdown is for you breaking it down. Please keep up the good work sir!
Your recaps is very helpful. Thanks Antonio
After pawn d6
Everyone: Now it’s a pawn race
Ding and his 3700 elo friend: We are cooking something very nasty
You explain it really nicely. One cannot learn by just watching the moves; it is your commentary that will produce better players! Please continue doing that you do so well, reveal the
idea behind the moves. Thank you!!
Dinglish and Londing openings, Ding is secretly British
As always, the great enthusiasm from Antonio Radic, adds extra value to the excitement of the World Chess Championship.

Don't listen to the haters, Agad. 99.9% of us love your analysis of all the different lines!
Great game! I come to your channel because of the analyses, so please keep it up!
Unbelievable. Ding is playing 4D chess. I was stunned.
Such a fun WC.Hands down I am completely entertained and thrilled. These guys are playing classical and still managing to make it so captivating.
Now I want Magnus to play in Candidates against the younger talents.
Thanks to ding for giving us this beautiful piece of art and for giving the world chess championship’s history another nice 6 game!
so glad I waited until the end to watch the short version; funny recap.
Best game of the match so far. And match itself may be the most unique in history, if it goes on like this. Well played both Nepo and Ding 😊
Good analysis of a great game..! Thanks also for the addition of the quick pgn-tour of the game.
Found Qf7 and really panicked when I saw a1=Q, completely missed that the new queen would just hang. However, I managed to also consider the option of trying to trade the bishop for the strong knight where the pawn at h5 would be sufficient to assist the rook to deliver the checkmate.
Unfortunately Agad rushed the video and did not try to explain this as its as exciting as bf8X , he struggled to show what move white might play while missed to explain the obvious one... take your time mr.
This was beautiful, the game and the analysis. Thank you Aggy!
In my opinion, the way you explain the lines is perfect and gets the recaps 1 level higher
You are NEVER explaining too much. It’s very much appreciated.
Ding my man, this Championship 🏆 is a rollercoaster!!!
