this lens has fantastic colour rendering and micro contrast at f4-5.6 and i call it a little pocket rocket because of its small size and high resolving power!!!. The f2 fuji crons are simply great .
Hi Dustin. Excellent review as always. I noticed in the companion blog post that you have mistakenly used photographs of the Viltrox lens instead of the Fuji lens.
Thanks for the review. I do street photography as well as landscapes. Now, I am torn between this one (2nd hand) or Viltrox 23mm f1.4. Which one would you pick?
WR series isn't consumer but rather for outdoors/street. The rest of XF range is for studio use, the xc line is the budget/consumer grade. At least that's how I interpret it.
Another splendid video Dustin. How do you think it compares to the RF 35mm ? I'm thinking about getting an rp and the rf 35mm or an xt3 with the 23mm. Which would you go for?
That's tough. The RP has nicer ergonomics on some levels, and I think the RF lens is more versatile, but the X-T3 is the superior camera on most levels. If you are just planning on buying a few small, compact primes, the Fuji system may be the way to go. If you plan to add serious zooms at some point, the Canon ecosystem is better.
Great video a always, thank you. Which of the Fuji primes would you recommend for interior low light situations, like group pictures during family dinners and family events? 23 f2 / 27 f2.8 / 35 f2 or something else?
Very fair review. I bought one used a couple of months ago and I used it only once up until now. One major drawback you didn't mention is that pictures in close-up at f/2 are quite hazy. While not a bad lens I think the 35mm is a (much) better lens, but that's also very subjective.
thanks for your work and effort. Great Video! I like the sense an appreciate its advantages. The other better but unfortunately bigger 23 is on my list for the next invest! :-) V
Dustin Abbott I am faced with the dilemma of replacing the Canon 5d3, 35/2 IS, with the Fuji X-pro 3 + 23mm 2.0WR. I am fed up with carrying a large camera, especially since my area of interest is street photography and tourism. My question to you, will the image quality and AF speed be comparable in these two sets?

Thank you Mr.Abott for the review. Lovely little lens - wonderful color rendering and excellent sharpness start from f/2!
My pleasure!
You have the best reviews on RUclips. Well done! 👍🏼👍🏼
Glad you like them!

That's right - the sweet spot of this lens is F4-5.6.
I use this lense with my XT-1 and XE-3 for urban and street photography and the results are just magnificent. I just get lost in the editing.
I'm glad you are enjoying it.

I actually like the Viltrox better, I think. More versatile
@@DustinAbbottTWI great, thanks for the tip. I'll add it to the list for black Friday/Xmas!

WR just means weather resistant, so should be applied also to their professional grade lenses (really, to all their lenses)

Probably the 23mm F2 or the 35mm F2. The 35 is the better lens, but might be a little tight in some situations.
@@DustinAbbottTWI thank you Dustin. I really appreciate your feedback.
What happened at 09:39 with those blue outlines at the tree leaves against the sky? Is that the lens?
That's actually a look due to the processing of the image. That's not the lens.

The 35mm is the better lens, for sure. I did mention the poorer close up image quality in the definitive review.
There's no settling or pulsing with my xt3 and this lense.
I'm glad to hear that, though I've seen it with every Fuji body I've tested (about seven on them).
@@DustinAbbottTWI I wonder why mine hasn't 😶 I've been using it since my friend gifted it to me last year. I guess that's a good thing though for me.
@@DustinAbbottTWI I did however have a really bad problem with the 35mm f2! I sold it because of that.
Oh boy, this can't be good. Dustin getting into Fuji now. I"m not sure my wallet is ready for this:)
I've actually done Fuji reviews for nearly two years now.

Looks like your house has a blue roof, clearly you are a man of excellent taste, love my blue roof.
It's a probably more grey than blue, but there's a slight tint to it, for sure.
I hAve this lens..
Enjoy it!
👍🏻
