Minor correction, the Bonneville GXP came out and was discontinued before any of the LS4 cars. It had a Northstar 4.6 from Cadillac, which is less reliable and made less power but had a far superior transmission, the 4T80E. With some work you can get one in a Monte/Impala SS, GP GXP, or Lacrosse Super. Might not be worth it over just building the 4T65E but if you're making like 600hp somehow with a turbo or whatever it might be worthwhile. Solid video. Love these cars. Not everyone wants RWD! People hate, but I have a 98 Trans Am as a daily and man there's a lot of things that would be easier if it were FWD. Putting it on ramps, snow, rain, oversteer when flooring it... I hear a lot of 15 year olds who whine about cars being FWD who have never had to live with rear wheel.

Yeah, when GM put D.O.D. In the cars and trucks, it was just a terrible idea. I haven’t seen one of those engines last over 80k miles with the original set of lifters. They still do it on the trucks that I’m aware of and they still have the same issues.
@@bigfornoreason1GM had 1 job lol. They went through the effort of putting an LS4 in a newer W body and stuck the v6 transmission behind it that already had issues.

Wait, at around 5:00 minutes you say you haven’t had it tuned. How could it be making over 100 hp more than stock without telling the ECU there are parts capable of doing that? Just bolting on parts without telling the engine what’s been changed is not conducive to power gains. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Grand Prix version of these cars and I’d love to know more about this particular build.
Thanks for your comment man. You're right that tuning is essential to fully realize the potential of performance mods. While the video may not have covered it in detail, I've actually been running a conservative tune to accommodate the new parts. The extra power you're seeing is partly from the aftermarket parts and some minor adjustments I've made, but a proper tune will definitely be the next step. I appreciate your interest and will definitely share more about the build and future plans!"

Sick dude. I don’t really know of a good shop to bring it to since we did it ourselves. I’m sure any normal engine shop could do it since it’s just a simple LS. Only think is though, they would obviously have to drop the engine cradle and some shops don’t want to bother with that.
