I just became a Mary Kay consultant, again. I was one 25 years ago. I am inspired to success! I'm so glad I came across this video. Thank you for sharing.
Amazing!! The interviewer and Gloria Mayfield Banks are so superb. I love interviews where the interviewer let's the person speak and then when they respond, they add something tangible, and worthwhile. I'm going to buy the book! Bravo ladies, so inspiring!
The difference between a legitimate business and pyramid scheme comes down to products. If the company and its distributors make money primarily from the sale of products to end-users (and not boxes of product accumulating in a distributor's garage), it's OK. By contrast, a pyramid scheme compensates those at the top of the pyramid with participation fees paid by those recruited at the bottom. It eventually collapses when the scheme can't recruit more people.
I can go all day the difference of MlM “pyramid schemes,” but what’s the point? Right? Not everyone is built to do direct sales. They don’t understand the concept of relationship building, budgeting, engaging consumers “wants, needs, Unperceived needs.” That takes skill and years of practice to obtain even for the most outgoing sales rep. I know plenty of women who never went into debt with Mary Kay, and never lured women because of their emotional state. They simply coached, inspire, and lead their team. Currently, I am finishing my PHD in Business Sales and Marketing while I am home with my special needs son. While I am home, I make side money from Mary Kay. I’m not ashamed of it, and honestly I don’t need a team to be successful. Success is measured by my perception. On average I take home after I invest 40% into my business and 60% take home roughly 1500 a month. I just got one girl on my team and I made it clear to her not to put herself in debt and how she makes money in this style of business.
Shannon Turner but Mary Kay consultants don’t make the bulk of their money from the product, they do so in recruiting, like every multi-level marketing company out there. Mary Kay is just a legal pyramid scheme. The emphasis is on recruiting; they only have products to in order for it to be legal. Everything that Gloria is talking about in this video is about the “business”. If it was really about the products, then why is she not talking about the products? It’s just a manipulation tactic to scam people into thinking this is a great opportunity, when in fact, people end up losing money or going into debt.
It really isn't. It really depends on how hard you work and anybody can reach the top with effort. The business really do give free cars, free vacations all expenses paid. It is really wonderful
So here's an example...i am a shy person, I don't know how to convince someone they must buy from me. So. I was stuck. I stopped being stuck when my 75 year old mom has sold over 1000 in 30 days without even trying
So then she during waiting to see her doctor instead of wasting her hour sitting still she pitched her Mary Kay to complete strangers, wow. It's just that. It's not wasting your hour. Not relaxing so much. Not laying down and Netflix and chill. It's about recognizing the opportunity in your environment and taking control.
