Those are Chatanooga wheels, very nice. The interior is Cornsilk Beige. I don't see anything boring about the car it has nice lines and looks a bit like an Audi at different angles. The 1.8T is a sweet engine it gives you enough power and yet you will get 28 mixed and 34 highway. I would not call it a partial German car I would say it is German Engineered and let it go at that. It is also held to a standard in parts and assembly that is up to the German requirement. Good review overall I like this car!!
I just bought one after riding with a friend a few weeks ago in his 2008 Passat with 185,000 miles in it. I love it so far. Just the basic "S" model with the amazingly responsive 1.8T engine. Great ride and handling. Very solid feel to it too.
I'm into the third (and final) year of a 2015 Passat TSI SE lease and Lord knows I can't wait enough to get rid of it. Very capricious and unreliable vehicle. Seven months into the lease AC compressor goes bad. Had it replaced at a dealership. A year and a half into the lease, an intake valve in one of the cylinders goes bad. Two months after that wiring harness goes bad which gave a bunch of faulty lights on the dashboard. I'm currently considering breaking the lease and getting another vehicle (surely, they'll have to add the remaining balance into the new lease). Thank you for your videos, Chad. I was considering a 2017 Accord Hybrid but I guess I'd just get the regular EX-L.
Try replacing a water pump on their V-6! It is in the middle of the engine so EVERYTHING must come out--I hear it is near $1500+. Like I said--drive a German car better have the factory warranty or else! Good thing it wasn't a mercedes.. I just did a video on the Honda hybrid. The Camry or KIa Optima is a good pick.
Izgil Mardahayev Mine is fine now but they had to replace the entire computer after only 100 miles. I called and raised a stink, saying that they need to audit their quality control on the assembly line. Aside from the computer issue, I’m still loving the Passat.
I own the 2017 Passat SEL,and it has manual transmission the + and - on the gear selector says as much pullover to left from drive and BAM!!! Manual transmission. The look is slightly pedestrian,but at same time has a classy look that says "I'm not too flashy I'm classy" I feel the engine is a little undersized for such a heavy car and it is heavy. Handling is great IMO I have no problems with mine,love my sunroof and the infotainment system is clean and straight forward. The seats are my only real beef,the seat has raised sides and after an HR driving I can feel it on the sides of my hips as if I was in a vice I imagine this will go away as I sit in it more. Overall I think this a great car with alot of features,and a classy look.
Chad..how do you get cars to test? I heard you say on many of your videos about car manufacturers sending you cars to review..whats your background. .just curious. .no doubt, I like ur reviews..
But overall I like this sedan and it's looks nice, I really like it... but I have question to you , when you show us the trunk of the car. Did you read that magazine? I think you read it in desert at night .. Alone haha.. I like your videos and I wnna come to your city and do a review together.
There are about a dozen cars in the mid-size $22,000 to $35,00 class and all of them are good. They have to be or the car companies would go out of business. I have tested most--look them up on my videos page.
