I'm so sorry that you are going through this Oma. I had Severe acne too since when I was about 14. I used almost every product I saw on RUclips but nothing worked. I even changed my diet and drank a lot of water as recommended by my doctor, friends and RUclipsrs, yet nothing worked. Then, I started praying to God to help me heal my skin because nothing seems to work. I believed only God could help. So, I sought him and he did answered my prayers. I bought an anti fungal body moisturiser, prayed on it and started applying it to my face instead of all the face creams and products I have in my bathroom. When I was 27, I prayed and fasted asking God to clear my skin before I turn 28. It should be my birthday gift from him and he did it for me. Oma, I feel your pain, because I've been there. I've been bullied and made to feel ugly. That acne, stole my self esteem and made me not to have friends because I didn't want to be made fun of but today I'm free. At some point, I thought, my village people were after me. Please Oma, as you try to treat your skin, commit it in the hands of our God. He'll not fail you.

Hi, I rarely comment on RUclips videos but I want to encourage you.
I think you are an inspiration to the every day black woman out there. I do understand your frustration and totally empathize with you. Two decades is a long time.
Even though I am a physician I have oily acne prone skin, but have learned what controls it over the years, I have occasional flare ups when I am going through stressful periods but it is largely under control. In my case the magic bullet is maximum strength benzoyl peroxide, nothing else comes close, salicylic, mandelic acid and retinol help in my skin turn over and keep my pores unclogged.
In your case with cystic acne the multiple follicular inflammation at the same time will make it very susceptible to secondary bacterial infection which is why it becomes an abscess filled with pus later. I know one of the issues with acne is that everyone has some advice because everyone can see your face unlike other illnesses that are not immediately obvious to the eyes, but you have come a long way. Please keep your chin up. Accutane may be your magic bullet, it may not, but don't give up just yet. Take it one day at a time, all the stories of dairy and all don't have much scientific backing, just keep it simple.
This new dermatologist may be the one who does it for you despite having a different skin type.

My best friend has the exact same acne prone skin and a lot of people did make fun of her during our uni days but just like you, she close her mind to the negative comments. First time I watched your make up video, I imagined you going through the same thing and I was automatically drawn to you. Your confidence was a sight to behold and I followed you immediately, she follows you too and I’m tempted to say, she has become more comfortable in her skin. We love you acne or no acne
I can so relate,36 and have had acne since I was about 13....so many nicknames,people stopping me on the street to give prescriptions,wish I had one pimple like some of my friends and they complain bitterly for that one pimple,I have literally TRIED ALMOST EVERYTHING .eveb made it a prayer point. I have not had a clear skin for 1month straight up till now. I have cried through out these years,still cried myself to sleep two days ago.it is so frustrating

The same thing happened to me and I kept encouraging myself everytime and nothing change until recently. I started intermittent fasting and girl it’s working!!!! And everytime I stop fasting like two weeks the acne comes back. Now I’ve decided to fast as I can just to keep my skin from acne. I hope this helps and I’ve also seen a lot of people that fasting worked for them to clear their skin! Mine is not clear completely but I can see the changes that I never saw since I was 12! All women on my mom side have acne really bad. After I had my last child I told my dermatologist I want accutane and in 2019 I started taking it. I only took it for 1 month and my skin was clear! I continued taking it for 3 more months then stopped because of the side effects 😩. But it’s been 3 years and I haven’t seen a single pimple. I was lucky because I had a wonderful dermatologist who always listened to me . Don’t let these doctors push you around, stay firm.

Omabelle you have come a long way and your skin looks much better as to what it used to be, 8 years ago it took patience and looking at your skin now looks great.
I always watch your contents but never dropped a comment, but you just broke my heart! Let me tell you this, every human being has a struggle somewhere in their life, it might be visible or invisible in people’s eyes, yours might be your skin but that never let you look at down at yourself. You are out here inspiring us , if we are here is because we get something from you and you should be proud of yourself. Funny enough i've been following Omabelle for 7 years and to be honest she looks much more better than the previous years
I've also had acne for about 16 years now, and I'm fed up. This year was when I started wondering if I was cursed, but the Holy Spirit would always remind me of God's Word. I can relate to most of what you said. It is also genetic on my end and I really want it to just stop. God knows I'm tired. I can't even begin to tell what I've been through with this acne. The time will come when I would by God's grace. I'm saying this to say that I've always admired you and how you've not allowed acne limit you and that it's okay to let your heart out and that one day this acne would be a past tense in Jesus name. We love you, ma'am.

I think you should push for Accutane. I was put on it and I didn't struggle with acne to the extent you do. I dealt with cyctic acne, not sure what caused it, for a couple of months in my late 20s. My dermatologist, at the time, put me on Accutane and my skin cleared completely. I never got cystic acne again. Your skin is looking much better! Don't give up! After one month, if your skin doesn't really improve, don't have them try something else other than Accutane. I agree with your sentiments regarding dermatologists. ❤
I just love how you interact with your kids the love and appreciation you have for your family is out of this world...everything you do for them from cooking, decorating your home...its just so heartwarming. Girl, I wanted to give you the biggest hug … I struggled with acne from my teens into my 30’s, then I had a period of time where my skin was the best it’s ever been in my 40’s. Now I’m 50 and dealing with menopausal hair growth on my face chin and neck. I tell you the truth, we go through it as women! Keep your head up and know that you are not alone in the struggle.

This too shall pass. I can relate with you Oma. I’ve dealt with acne since I started puberty at 12 yrs old. I’ve seen a few dermatologists and tried so many different treatments until I heard about accutane. I suffered with acne over 20 years too. My last shot was Accutane. I went on Accutane two years ago for six months and my acne has been under control since then. It wasn’t as bad as the dermatologist said. My acne has cleared up now. I’m just left with some scars. Sending prayers and hugs ❤

I'm so sorry you feel this way. I had acne for maybe 23 years. No one got it. I felt so much shame. I hid behind makeup. Maybe 3 years ago, I heard about people cutting out dairy and refined sugars to help with acne. I did it and stuck to it. It worked like magic. I think figuring out what triggers your acne is the answer here. I've watched you since you started RUclips; I know you'll keep your head up. There's a solution out there. You'll figure it out soon enough.

I so feel your pain... I used to have beautiful skin..then I turned about 45 and zits, dark spots..it was agony. I will be 60-in 2 days and my skin just cleared up about 5-6 months ago. Sometimes what we think is acne is not acne. Hormones can really cause us to break out, and they are cystic, painful, just terrible. But.. be careful when a dermatologist says they want to try something new on you that just came out. I don't want to be a trial maid for anyone. keep the faith, you are beautiful inside and out.
To see you cry really hurts me. I wish i could share my story with you.. but i know no matter what people use to say to me, it didn't help because nobody elses face was as bad as mine. I pray you will get the clear skin you deserve and desire

Hi Omabelle I've not watched your channel in a long time but this particular video came up. I had hormonal acne since I was 14 and I'm 52. I know exactly how you feel. I came to the conclusion after I was married 23y ago that I could only look my best and my husband never complained. So after I stopped worrying and judging myself I carried on and still do. You're a beautiful person with a beautiful attitude. People react to you the way you react to yourself and you have a HUSBAND some with beautiful skin can't get a man and 3 beautiful children so brighten up hun.❤❤

Me too. I fully understand. I Struggled with acne for years. I am in my forties and started Accutane 4 months ago and my skin is clear for the first time since I was a teenager. It was a process because it gets worse before it gets better, but it’s worth it for chronic acne
I really hope this dermatologist gives you the break you need because I know how painful cystic acne was and how everyone has an opinion

Oh my goodness!! It breaks my heart to see you cry!! I have watched you for more that 5yrs and i have seen your struggles. Trust me dermatologists don't help to cure Acne! There is a young lady on ig changing woman's lives. She is an esthetician i will recommend u try her. But i must say your face has really made a lot of progress over the years!!! Oma, We love you! Don't be discouraged. I am also struggling with acne. My acne started in my teens as well and I am now in my 30s. I haven't had a break. Yes, some months are better than some but the acne never went away. I have also done EVERYTHING possible - expensive treatments, dermatologists, diet changes, DIY home remedies, expensive products, I even went vegan for a full year. Right now as I am typing this message I am currently going through a terrible breakout. My face is filled with hyperpigmentation. Oma, you are such a beautiful person. Sending you hugs.

Nwannem eziokwu i no longer see u as an acne patient, in as much as sometimes u break out in one two places but ur face is the smoothest ever now, that ur tea cup is so cute o, am also that kind that find ways to be happy too and trust me that’s a sweet way to follow life, i will say try that new product they recommended it might be God giving u the solution for ever

I can relate to how you feel…I have scars all over my body because of a skin disease I had and I get so insecure when dressing…and my head is just thinking if someone sees me the first thing they notice is my body, the dark spots. Or sometimes I just sit down and start remembering when I once had a clear skin. It’s hard to ignore these things to be honest. Please don’t give up ma. And please stop using “my acne” it’s not yours in Jesus name. It’s a phase that would soon pass I believe 💖
The Aesthetic Clinic in Lagos (but they have locations all over and virtual visits) can get you right sis. They know our skin and they have seen all types of cases. Trust me, I know it's so frustrating to deal with but visiting this clinic, and having monthly facials with a black esthetician who knows what they are doing, is major key. I hope you see this and this helps you.

Oh dear, I can totally relate to your acne story. I watched all the RUclips videos and bought everything people recommended. I got tired of buying. I requested for a black doctor I got into the office and he instantly recommended accutane it was a long six month but I did it and I have never looked back.
I WOULD RECOMMEND DOING IT IN THE SUMMER OR SPRING THE DRY SKIN AND WINTER WEATHER DONT GO TOTHER AT ALL!

Hi Omabelle, this is my first time commenting on your channel. I have been watching you for years now and you’ve been an inspiration. I can totally relate as I have been suffering with acne too. I have tried different products that never worked or worked and the acne became resistant. The only thing that worked for me for couple of years after a dermatologist visit was to stop eating diary products and anything derived from it such as chocolate. It takes time to work but eventually worked. I have now gone back to not eating diary products and it’s working. Give it a try and be consistent for 3 months. Stay safe and be positive, this too shall pass.
I Just want to encourage you Omabelle. You are a beautiful and inspirational woman. Never stop fighting and keep working on it. Certainly, one Day,everything Will be okay.

Please be encouraged and know that we all have our crosses to carry, and this one is yours, and it does not one bit take away from your beauty inwardly or outwardly. You are truly a Child of God and because of your faithfulness He has blessed you greatly, but He gives us assignments and purpose in life that only we have been strengthened by God to carry out. What I'm saying is, God has CHOSEN you to walk this path and He's with you EVERY step of the way. Acne is not your "burden", Dear Heart, it's your assignment (for now). I had bad acne all of my teens, I was put on roaccutane and it made a massive difference. I am now in my 40s and never had acne since. It was grateful for my dermatologist then. I didn't get bad side effects from taking it. I totally understand, it can be frustrating when dealing with acne.
Struggled with acne all my life, I started Accutane in 2018 and have been clear since then. I am now 46 yrs old and the only regret I have is waiting so long before I started Accutane…. My acne cleared up the 4th month.. The side effects while taking Accutane (for me) was nothing compared to the pain, frustration, low self esteem and embarrassment of acne for years….

I battled acne for over a decade.. I wish I can post my before and after for you here to see.. The most annoying part about it is that acne is very painful like they are boils😢.. But see baby,this acne will go..

I noticed I was breaking out when I was filming live videos every Fridays because of heavy makeup, I had to stop and my face is back to normal.
I also heard some people react to peanut.....(allergy) Do you eat peanut butter soup? Are you over working yourself/stress (Try dey relax) ..... also try exercise...I heard it's good.
Wash your face every night even if you don't have makeup on..... it helps to relax the muscles....**Hug and kisses** ❤❤❤❤

Hi Sweet, am not a Doctor or a health worker but I think at times the most difficult issues we face are been solved with things we don't expect to solve our worries. The little I can say is try to keep any hair out of your face and if you can get "Snow Fire" facial cleanser the pink box and use it after bath 2xdaily for a month in addition to prayers you're going to be fine, Take care of you and no that this too shall pass. If it's works for you keep on using it and you can reduce the number of times you apply it 😘😘

I can relate with you. I actually subscribed when you did your first video on how to cover your acne with makeup and I know it's hard but it's gotten better though I know it's not perfect. Like you, I still struggle with acne and had one of the worst breakouts weeks to my wedding (used a new product). On my wedding day my face was covered in pimples. It wore on my self esteem and still does to be honest. Been struggling for 16 years now and I am still struggling. It's better then how it was but I pray that soon I will find something that works. We will get there stay encouraged and you are still beautiful irrespective of your skin ❤❤❤
