Great video Ben, after watching Leeds Vs Valencia yesterday they are on fire and have won their last 5 games, they had a bad start to last season and Farke had learnt from this, a much more focused squad
We hear this every year. Last season a Leeds fan on here claimed it was the best squad they’ve ever had at this level, and they’d win the league easily. How did that work out.
@@Boxing328 it wasn’t farke having to learn from last seasons slow start,it was the fact we had to bring in a virtually new starting 11 in last 3 weeks of window
@@clivet3252a good start would have meant the odd loss towards the end of the season wouldn’t have been life or death. It’s all ifs and buts, of course and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Farke will lose his job if Leeds do not go up this season and they do look very good in pre-season.
I would say Bristol City are probably the hardest team to predict and have been for the last few season, inconsistency personified, I’m loving your optimism
It’s so hard to predict. But my surprise prediction is Bristol City make the top 6. Great content as always. It’s great that there’s so much efl content to watch including Ben hd not the top 20 and yourself. Keep up the awesome work 👍.
Burnley fan here, still not sure about how we will go this season. We've lost Muric which is a big blow, but if we can keep hold of Berge in midfield and Esteve at the back then we have a really good spine at this level. Plenty of players who were frozen out last season and / or injured like Benson, Zaroury, Koleosho etc will be raring to go. What I would say is that if we do keep hold of our better players, we arguably have a better younger squad than the one who got 101 points 2 years ago. It is all on the manager and his style of football I guess. One of my biggest worries was WBA a few months ago, but it is looking that they are having a few difficulties. I also think Sheff Wed will have a good season. My Top 6 would be 1. Burnley (got to back us) 2. Leeds 3. Luton 4. Boro 5. Cov 6. Sheff Utd (think they will have a better season than people are saying) Relegation (sorry all) 22. Oxford 23. Plymouth 24. Derby I think Blackburn might escape by the skin of their teeth again. Keep up the good work, great channel :)
It’s whether those Kompany players can adapt to Parker’s style of play, which is, shall we say, more pragmatic. Everyone is predicting either Leeds or Burnley to be top, I’m not sure if it’ll be that straight forward. Division seems more competitive this season.

@@Joshyt1907 Luton lost multiple of their best players for very little money. Especially with funds mostly going towards the new stadium and not playing staff I imagine they struggle. Building the team around an ageing Carlton Morris is no way to have a successful championship campaign.
confirmed so far that Leeds have lost Gray Klaesson Cresswell Kamara and Summerville for some kind of money so far, Cairns Bogle Rodon and Rothwell have come in so far, I feel we still have the best starting 11 in the division, but our squad depth needs some extra reinforcements. I'll be doing my 1-24 a day before the season starts, don't worry Ben, you have my word on that!
Don’t forget Aaronson who is like a new signing and Wober replaces Cooper as back up CB. If we get Sara in for Summerville and cover for Firpo, I think that reflects an excellent window.
Brave choices, Ben! 1st Leeds 2nd Coventry Playoff winner - Middlesbrough Relegated - Oxford, Blackburn, Sunderland. I can see Scott Parker walking away from Burnley midseason, Sheffield Wednesday storm the league until their manager gets poached to the Prem, and there will be 10 other sackings elsewhere.
Quite concerned about Luton. Still most recognised senior defenders out injured from last season, and Mengi injured yesterday. I think we’re gonna need to out score teams if we want to take points until those players are back. Edward’s seems to be struggling to attract new signings, which is surprising. Top 6 Leeds Burnley Cov Luton West Brom Middlesbrough Bottom 3 Watford Plymouth Oxford
id have luton mid table with the defence they have, i went yesterday and the back line was just dreadful, getting cut open with so much ease, cant see us beating burnley at all. top 3 , leeds burnley hull lol luton mid table
Blade here, when we first went up to the Prem we did well, but then we lost a centre back, before the new season, we also got other defensive injuries and we never could fix that, in fact ever since our defence has had lots of injuries, so you are right to be worried. In my view a great defence is the most important part of the team. The attack can have bad days and you can still get a point. If the defence has a bad day you ship goals.
Tom, you’re not alone, two quality midfielders missing from last year (hopefully Baptiste can fill one void)…defensively we still look frail and need some bodies back asap…not much depth in the squad at the moment , not sure players like Woodrow, Taylor, Mpanzu etc are consistent game changers…although Pelly changed the game yesterday 🙈
My Top 6 1/Burnley 2/Leeds 3/Hull 4/Luton 5/West Brom 6/Coventry Relegated; 22/Plymouth 23/Oxford 24/Blackburn My team Cardiff City to end up in 10th position, 2 positions better than last season. We'll flirt with the play-offs on a few occasions but boring, negative, defensively Bullutball means we won't stay in 5th or 6th position for very long. We still haven't got a decent goal scorer to hit the back of the net 15-20 times next season, which will be our Achilles heel.
Loving ya stuff Ben but I think you will be surprised by Middlesbrough ;) I’ve not seen the fanbase this optimistic in years and years. Our lack of signings is because our current squad has developed wonderfully. We are all set for an auto promotion challenge and I’d honestly be dumbfounded if we somehow didn’t finish at least top 6. Time will tell but this is a real team this year. 5th would be a disappointment. This team is set up for a go at the top 2. Not been this optimistic since the 15/16 Karanka auto season.
I think the top of the table is going to be incredibly tight this season, apart from Leeds, I have a feeling they might run away with it. Over 100 point, probably, could easily be a 10-15 point gap between 1st and 2nd. 1 Leeds 2 Luton 3 Burnley 4 Coventry 5 WBA 6 Middlesbrough 7 Sheffield Utd 8 QPR 9 Norwich 10 Millwall 11 Bristol City 12 Sunderland 13 Watford 14 Sheffield Wednesday 15 PNE 16 Cardiff 17 Swansea 18 Stoke 19 Portsmouth 20 Hull 21 Blackburn 22 Plymouth 23 Derby 24 Oxford Utd
As an Ipswich fan don't see any team running off with it Leeds are weaker than last season Middlesbrough Coventry Luton Burnley and both Sheffield clubs will push them very hard And the old enemy? Depends if they keep Jon Rowe and Josh Sergeant If they do will be there or thereabouts as well
@@saxbend That prediction will only be close if leeds sell rutter, gnonto even then i still expect top 6 finish minimum, if you want to win some easy money get joseph on for top scorer
We’ll we’ve lost 20 goals with Summerville but hoping Mateo Joseph can give us 15/20 goals we still need a couple more attacking mids and a left back too
Im a burnley fan here i wasnt sure where we were gonna finish but after watching the burnley luton game and how we beat them 4-1 and now i think we will win the league
Millwall; of your 16th or 13th prediction I'll go with your 13th (at the very least) again. Understand your logic but we were in a dogfight last season and there was immense pressure to get results so Neil picked experienced players who could deal with it. This year there's more breathing space which will allow our exciting young talent and new signings to step up. We were grieving the loss of our brilliant chairman last season which blew the wind out of everyone's sails which evidently had an adverse affect on all of us psychologically. Time's a healer and we go again. RIP JGB (except match days). MIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLL
As a Blackburn fan I would have agreed with you a few weeks ago but we’ve made some moves in the market now and expect a couple more if we lose Szmodics. I would also add that we have had one of the top scorers in each of the last few seasons (Armstrong,Brereton, Szmodics) and have always replaced them as they leave. I’m not saying we’re going to challenge the top six but I wouldn’t be surprised if we finish mid table.
Oxford fan here and I agree, I don't think we are ready for the championship... The size of the other championship clubs and the resources they have is quite frightening to be honest!! Having said that I'm super excited to be visiting so many great clubs and stadiums this season. I just hope Des and the boys give it their best and who knows.... Perhaps they might just be able to snatch 20th place!
I'm a Norwich fan 2 and Ben bloom as Ipswich fan and blogger not biased,he speaks the truth and he knows his football,I hope we stay in around top 6 but selling Sara and Adam idah wants to go we need reinforcements up front and a ball winners and play maker in the midfield is a must, but with the squad we have at the min around 10 th place but if our new boss can do good business in the transfer market we could make the playoffs again 💛💚🇬🇫🇧🇻🏆🏴
@@NigelCraske you aren’t wrong he never is biased and it’s going to be interesting what JHT does with selling some players knowing what he was like in the Danish league he will probably reuse the money on sales to invest in youth
@@badencordina1989 I agree alot of rebuilding to do in our team,we want players who are 100 percent committed like when Daniel Farke brought in his players and it did take time,we have to give our new Danish manager time to get it right, the board has got to back him if he wants new players in,for me U need pace at the back what we lacked last season, ball winners in midfield is a must, Sargent needs help up front and for me, Ashley Barnes Adam idah not good enough,so another striker got to be a must, parachute payments gone so we have to use the Sara's 23 million wisely,no over 30 players,he said he will give youth a chance and can play with no fear 💛💚🇬🇫🇧🇻🏆🏴
I look forward to this every season but this year put off watching it as I thought you would place my team (Sheffield United) in the bottom half thereby confirming my worries having released/sold/let leave due to contracts running out most of last season squad. Pleasantly surprised by the sixth place you’ve predicted, especially since you did your prediction before we signed Gilchrist and Souttar. However we will struggle to put together a challenge because our squad is very very light on numbers. The rest of the transfer window is going to be key. Apart from that it is difficult to disagree with your top six as the squads are today. I would put Luton in automatics rather than Burnley. I think your comments about Leeds maybe losing players late in the transfer window apply to Burnley but not to Luton. Berge will do what he did last season and leave on deadline day, leaving them no time to get a replacement in. Very surprised about your Norwich prediction I would shift them up to fifth and push the others down one position. Leeds have a great squad and an experienced manager I think they will be well clear of everyone. After that I think it is going to be very tight amongst your top ten but also including Norwich. There is always one surprise and unfortunately I think it will be Wednesday. Really liked Danny Roll as a pundit during the Euros. He did well when he came in last season and they have brought in 8 or 9 player this summer, so they will be his choices and therefore I would expect them to do even better than they did in the second half of last season. At the bottom I don’t disagree Oxford will probably struggle and lose touch but the restI think it will very close up to and including your sixteenth Millwall. As is the case every season squads could look very different at the end of the transfer window largely because of loans from Premier League clubs. So it will be great to see your update pod at the end of the window.
As a long suffering swans fan I concur with everything you’ve said here….. gradual decline and a highly dubious board. However, there seems to be an ambitious new recruitment strategy at play, some interesting left field signings on the Ronald mould. We’re either going to crash and burn or turn the ship around and push upwards.
Great video Ben and fair play on the insults you or anyone else takes, you make a very good point. However! lol Think you've got us 4 places lower than where we will finish to be honest Ben as a Blades fan. We're just about to sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan who if he delivers we should be right up there. If we retain Hamer then him with O'Hare and Arblaster will be the best midfield in the Championship, in my opinion. There's likely to be further signings also such as Tom Cannon and a goal keeper as well as Tyrese Campbell. I think it's between us, Burnley, Luton and Leeds for the top two and you can't look beyond that for the top two battle. I think Wilder is still as good as before also. You have to remember he took over a total car crash last season. Leeds will be strong but they're likely to sell more of their top players. Also their fans can get on the back of the players and that can be a heavy shirt to wear as a result.
In my view it seems to be three 'leagues' within the championship. All interchangeable with a top 8 Leeds Burnley Coventry Luton Boro WBA Norwich? And quite generously the Blades. Then a 10 team pack in the middle including perennial 12th place Preston and a worryingly improving Wednesday 😮. Then a bun fight to avoid relegation from Plymouth, Derby Blackburn, Oxford, Pompey possibly Millwall and Watford??! Anyway much more exciting than the car crash premier league season i had to sit through last year 😮
Thanks for the content Ben, I’m a newer fan to English football and I’ve been trying to find as much content as possible to learn from. Yours has been some of my favorite to watch!
I realise Benjamin that you are knowledgeable but,as you, indirectly, alluded to,their were 3 teams that took off at the end and while you see a continuation of that at QPR and Sheff Wed then you don't at Millwall. This is a better squad than the side that was near the playoffs for 3 successive years before last season's injuey racked,4 Managers, miasma. We have now signed Tandanga permanently and got a prolific scorer in the lower leagues and I think WE could be the "Bristol City". lol There was a real buzz around Millwall who were Top of The Last 12 fixtures and won their last 5 games.
Ben, very good of you to back Argyle to survive. I remember you did the same last season. This year however, no other podcast or commentator seems to share your faith. And indeed, neither do I. In fairness, we have had a good pre-season and some seemingly good new arrivals. At a training camp in Marbella, there was an open day and all the players spoke well of Rooney - seemingly honestly. We'll see I guess. Survival is the goal once again and to do that the manager and squad will have to prove a lot of doubters, including me, wrong.
Bristol City’s issues may well centre around scoring goals!! With Conway looking like he won’t play (even if he’s still here), I’m not convinced that Mayulu & Armstrong are going to be consistent enough in front of goal right now, which leave us heavily reliant on the likes of Bell, Mehmeti, Sykes & Hirakawa from wide positions to score & I’m not convinced that will happen enough either, especially for a play-off push.
If Sheffield Wednesday players GEL & we stay injury free & we get another striker I honestly think that SHEFFIELD Wednesday could get the top 6 playoffs but I’m agreeing with Benjamin around 10th but if all goes well they could get a playoff spot SWFC could get!
As a Norwich fan, I'm less concerned about where they finish this season than how they're playing at the end of it. Like most Norwich fans, I expect it will take awhile for the team to adjust to Thorup's style of football also to accumulate a new set of young players for him to develop. I remember Farke's difficult first season...it wasn't until several games into that second season that the team took off. If we see early signs of this team jelling under Thorup by this coming spring, it'll have been a good season imo.
Well articulated. That's the difference as we can all make a list. I wish my Derby appeared higher. I'm concerned about our central defence, to the point that 21st might prove generous. Other than that, a great crowd, Paul Warne on the up, and a core approach of just enjoying having a club to support at all. Well done Benjamin, you know your stuff.
Going for it and making this my definite. 24th: Plymouth Argyle - Relegated 23rd: Oxford United - Relegated (I want to back Des, but I think the financial gap is growing and it'll be hard to cross) 22nd: Watford - Relegated (Probably my bold pick, or one of two. Just feels like they're trending downwards and I think they'll get caught by the battle late on) 21st: Blackburn Rovers 20th: Derby County (People always talk about Paul Warne's record, but Rotherham were looking good in the final run under him before Derby snatched him away) 19th: Swansea City 18th: Portsmouth 17th: Stoke City 16th: Hull City 15th: Cardiff City 14th: Preston North End 13th: Millwall 12th: Sunderland AFC 11th: Queens Park Rangers 10th: Sheffield Wednesday 9th: West Bromwich Albion 8th: Sheffield United (Not going to be terrible, more just unlucky in playoff battle) 7th: Norwich City 6th: Bristol City (debated putting them here as I've had good vibes on them, but since I'm not going to be the only one boldly backing them) 5th: Middlesbrough 4th: Coventry City 3rd: Burnley 2nd: Luton Town 1st: Leeds United

Great video and really appreciated your stance on keeping the comments clean and respectful - regarding the upcoming season, I feel this year’s Championship is less predictable than ever (and that’s saying something, for the Championship)
Many Norwich fans will bite at a Ipswich fan predicting them 12th however I agree. Massive transition season. Loads of players way past their best on big wages and under contracts. Sara already gone since the video was released. Sarge and Rowe likely to follow and only minimal money reinvested. Wasted all pre season with many key positions not even having a signed on or trialist to play there. Only shining light is some kids might get a chance to shine an become the new heroes (best sellable asset). Negative is I’m not sure our fans will give the new boss the time he needs. I truly believe we are lucky to have got him as gaffer knowing his work pre Norwich. Just needs time to really get through this season and then build. Great video.
Morning Ben, QPR will be lucky to finish in the top half this season, pre-season has shown we will defend well and be hard to beat but we haven't a goal scorer who is going to get 15/20. 1st Leeds, 2nd Burnley, 22nd stoke, 23rd Blackburn, 24th Oxford. I also think from 8th to 17th could finish in any order with only 7 pts covering them.Roll on next Friday.

I have a feeling Pompey and Derby will be just fine.
I do think that Swansea 19th is a bit harsh. It’s fair to reference James, McBurnie etc. but ultimately they left several years ago. This summer’s recruitment was effectively rectifying the attempted change in style of play under Michael Duff. I have a bias of course but I think the Swans will surprise a lot of people this season. The transfers they have made thus far have been a cause for optimism.
@@Micfri300 I can definitely see that, especially considering a lot of the players we signed will be playing in the Championship for the first time, so they’ll need some time to adapt.

Quite funny how a jack is the person I’ve seen predict us to finish highest in the league 😅
I hope you do finish that high, these predictions are genius
Really Wednesday at 10th, as Victor Meldrew would say I DONT BELIEVE IT. This is the season Danny Rowe will leave Wednesday.
confirmed so far that Leeds have lost Gray Klaesson Cresswell Kamara and Summerville for some kind of money so far, Cairns Bogle Rodon and Rothwell have come in so far, I feel we still have the best starting 11 in the division, but our squad depth needs some extra reinforcements.
I'll be doing my 1-24 a day before the season starts, don't worry Ben, you have my word on that!
wober ,aaronson and a new striker joseph who only had sub appearences last season who will be the leagues top scorer
It's still a pretty strong squad. The question marks are over Farke.
@@clivet3252 yes they are, no excuses
Don’t forget Aaronson who is like a new signing and Wober replaces Cooper as back up CB.
If we get Sara in for Summerville and cover for Firpo, I think that reflects an excellent window.

Quite concerned about Luton. Still most recognised senior defenders out injured from last season, and Mengi injured yesterday. I think we’re gonna need to out score teams if we want to take points until those players are back. Edward’s seems to be struggling to attract new signings, which is surprising.

@@peterlangan1181 my thoughts exactly
Tom, you’re not alone, two quality midfielders missing from last year (hopefully Baptiste can fill one void)…defensively we still look frail and need some bodies back asap…not much depth in the squad at the moment , not sure players like Woodrow, Taylor, Mpanzu etc are consistent game changers…although Pelly changed the game yesterday 🙈

My team Cardiff City to end up in 10th position, 2 positions better than last season.

Good predictions
Gyoker and Hameres, they sound dangerous at this level too if they existed! LOL
Appreciate the effort you put into these videos mate

Up the Blades :D
Bloody hell, I think 7th for bristol city is very generous! Hope you're right though 😅
In my view it seems to be three 'leagues' within the championship. All interchangeable with a top 8 Leeds Burnley Coventry Luton Boro WBA Norwich? And quite generously the Blades. Then a bun fight to avoid relegation from Plymouth, Derby Blackburn, Oxford, Pompey possibly Millwall and Watford??! This is a better squad than the side that was near the playoffs for 3 successive years before last season's injuey racked,4 Managers, miasma.
We have now signed Tandanga permanently and got a prolific scorer in the lower leagues and I think WE could be the "Bristol City". lol
There was a real buzz around Millwall who were Top of The Last 12 fixtures and won their last 5 games.
With Rooney managing Plymouth, the club is guaranteed much more media coverage than it usually gets.
@@geoffpoole483 That's undoubtedly true.
I'll be delighted if you're right about the Blades Ben. I think Wednesday will do better than 10th, and must admit I wish we'd signed Jamal Lowe!
Portsmouth are lightweight up front and will struggle to score goals this year. You might be right😳⭐️🌙
If Sheffield Wednesday players GEL & we stay injury free & we get another striker
I honestly think that
SHEFFIELD Wednesday could get the top 6 playoffs but I’m agreeing with Benjamin around 10th but if all goes well they could get a playoff spot SWFC could get!
Spot on to my fellow canary fingers crossed we play a better style of football and not sideways and backwards 💛💚🇬🇫🇧🇻🏆🏴
Well articulated. That's the difference as we can all make a list. I wish my Derby appeared higher. I'm concerned about our central defence, to the point that 21st might prove generous.
Aha I have been waiting for this one Ben!
I'd argue you have a large amount of Leeds fans answering the poll.
We literally just signed a goal scorer
@@stuartbardin3164 we have signed a centre forward not yet proven if he will score goals and i think it would be a lot to ask the lad in his first season to be banging in 15/20 goals, i hope i'm wrong but the service to him is not going to come straight away it's going to take a few months for him to settle among the squad.
Will be happy with a top 10 finish but Danny will aim for higher. Can see us challenging for top 6 if we get the right players in before the window closes but I think we’ll fall short.
Autos: Burnley, Coventry
Play offs: Leeds, Middlesbrough, Luton, WBA
Relegated: Watford, Plymouth, Blackburn
Well done Ben for not having us in the drop zone, and being optimistic about Rooney. We're optimistic about Rooney too. Our squad is coming together. If we lose Whittaker and Cooper, I feel we'll replace them well.
Love your show Ben, I always watch but rarely comment, you are correct to not put with crap from others, there's just no need for it, constructive yes but insulting no. Keep up the good work.

Im a Cov fan so obviously bias but our squad has a serious amount of goals in it. We have added depth in key positions and look to have a nailed on number one which was a problem last year.
My big shout is Rohl to jump up the table with Wednesday and even leapfrog The blades whilst they are in transition.
Similarly to us last year, I think the behind the scenes stuff at Hull and WBA will see them have to rebuild next year after consolidating this season.
I hope you're right. I think we (cov) need at least 1 more CB and RB. Possibly also a LB
@@Callon1177 I think Bidwell is strong enough for now, it depends on sheaf and wright the rumours I've seen are that they have gone. We can potentially get that organiser/enforcer that we had in fadz as a CDM.
I think we will see much more of Binks this year now he is ours. Him and Thomas with Dovin could be the answer with Joel and Kitch as backups. With our squad and the signings we have made in guessing Robins isnt planning on defending much.

That was a really interesting video; thank you for it. Top 3: Burnley, Coventry, Leeds. Bottom 3: Watford, Blackburn, Derby. As for my team, Danny Roehl is doing a superb job and I'm confident we can be above half way in the final analysis. 🦉

Millwall fan, we're terrible starters, and our run-in is shocking. I can't see better than 15th. Harris done an amazing job last season and was the only person who could have done that. But I just dont see any progress this season.
*sorry Preston, just a hunch and an opinion 👍🏻
Here's a bold prediction! Argyle will finish mid table.
Agree
Yeh maybe once shrek has been fired and you get a competent manager

Last season Ipswich were the surprise packet. Who is your dark horse for 2024/25?
Birmingham was the biggest disappointment. Who do you think will be the most disappointing team for 2024/25?
I have a feeling that Norwich City will some how avoid relegation and to stay up in the Championship. Can’t see us getting top 6 just like last season.
Keep an eye on my twitter for my own predictions but also at the end of the season I’ll rank all content creators preseason predictions. Benjamin was 7th last season!

Been waiting for this one Ben!
Champions: Leeds
Auto Promotion: Luton
Playoffs: Boro, Burnley, Coventry, Sheffield Wednesday
Relegated: Plymouth, Blackburn, Oxford.
This was really tough Ben I think the league will be wide open this year.
I've thrown us in as 6th as a dark horse with early season optimism, but I think that last playoff spot could go to anyone!
Swansea will start awfully and be a playoff form team from Jan onwards and come 11th/12th.
@@Micfri300 I can definitely see that, especially considering a lot of the players we signed will be playing in the Championship for the first time, so they’ll need some time to adapt.
I completely agree with you regarding Watford! If not, you’re being slightly generous to us. I think we’re in some serious trouble this season.
